I recently purchased this lamp, and it has quickly become one of my favorite accent pieces at home. Assembly was straightforward—everything you need is included, from the base and stand to the light bulb itself. The lamp came together in just a few minutes, and the instructions were easy to follow. You do need to be careful when assembling, as you can put a hole in the shade if you are not paying attention! It is a nice size for a floor lamp, not too tall. It throws the light well around the room and comes with a dimmer switch built in to the cord. I had no problems adding my own smart bulb to get the right light temperature.

I put this lamp on the bureau in my bedroom. It's a bit tippy because the legs don’t all reach the bureau but it doesn’t get bumped up there so it doesn’t matter. I got a soft light bulb for a more peaceful glow. What I don’t like as much is the switch is unhandy, you have to pick it up to use it. I think it would be better to have a regular on off rather than a dimmer switch.

I have a few other pieces from Huga, and I will say, they are extremely high quality for a great price point. This lamp is no different, however, I almost lost my mind trying to put this together. If you can have a second person to assist, please do. For something so simple, it took me quite some time as its difficult to hold all three pieces together while holding the lamp taught. I am a bit upset because I made a little tear towards the bottom of the lamp when the pieces sprung out while trying to screw the nut on. With all that aside, it's a beautiful addition to my bedroom.

I was born in Asia and incorporating Asian decor has been something that I highly enjoy immensely. Here we have one well designed Paper Noguchi paper lantern. What caught my attention was the fact that this lamp is unique and very delicate in nature. It does emit a warm and ambient atmosphere for sure. Whether turned on or off, this lamp is such that its beauty can be seen in either way. From what I learned researching the different types of Akari paper lamps, I did discover there are at least two options- either Rice or Paper. The cotton in which the designer used "cotton" of premium grade is more durable than the rice paper. For the price point it makes sense you want a thicker and more durable material to ensure longevity of the lamp. I will say that one thing you should note is that the paper is still "fragile" and you must be delicate and gentle with the assembly to maintain the integrity of the lamp. The lampshade is handmade, which to me always elevates the value of a product. So kudos for the craftsmanship of this delicate and gorgeous Akari Lamp. Therefore, based on a very positive experience- I would recommend this to other consumers. I do appreciate your time reading my review. I hope it was informative and helpful. :)

I have always been a huge fan of Japanese-inspired paper lamps. This is my second Huga Collective paper lamp and I have yet to be disappointed. I find this brand's lamps to be durable, easy to set up, and very attractive. Although they are a bit pricier than other options, I appreciate the quality and consistency of their products. I've set this one up in my garage studio and it gives the perfect glow of ambient light. I love to use it as a light source, so it's nice that it's lightweight and movable. While it's paper, it's fairly strong, and the frame is quite secure. Overall, I like this lamp and will probably get more as soon as I make more space!

I really enjoy the soft lighting & ambiance this lamp creates, but there's not much else to it. The shade is an exception but the rest looks like a novice DIY project. The base is lightweight wire. It has silicone balls that push on & off the legs to prevent surface scratches. The light socket doesn't screw in & it isn't fixed in place, it just balances there. It might actually be broken, I can't imagine why it would be intentionally made this way. The cord is the heaviest part. A good fan can move this lamp, it's not very stable. This shade is beautifully made. The paper does feel thicker & slicker than rice paper. It has a different look that would be a matter of personal preference. Assembly is fairly easy following the instructions, maybe a bit tricky to maneuver parts. A bulb was included. This lamp would be outstanding if only the quality matched the price. Unfortunately, it doesn't even come close.

This lamp fooled even my artist friends. They really thought at first that I had come into possession of an original Noguchi lamp! The design is spot on and the materials are quite nice and sturdy. The paper used for the outside is thick and feels reinforced. But I am being careful with it - especially while putting it together, with the bars crossing over each other inside and secured with a large threaded washer that clamps down the crossbar wires on top of a screw post. I was impressed at how simple the build was, stacking the center of the wires up underneath the stand. I really like the natural shade materials and color, but that is close enough to the original style of paper color. The lamp is meant to be on the floor as an art piece as much as a functional light source. The lightbulb was already included and attached to the power cord so all I had to do was assemble and plug in. Well it looks just amazing. I have faith in the bulb not overheating, and the cord is long and has a sketchy dimmer switch. I don’t love the knob on the cord as it feels dodgy and not secure as it turns up or down. It feels a little bit cheap actually and the light did flicker as I dialed down the dimmer. It flickers at a low light, but then stabililizes at full brightness. The price point seems outrageously high for what it it is though. I’d be afraid to drink beverages around it but I guess you would be careful and if you have pets, put it up really high. Cats would shred this lamp in a minute.

This is such a gorgeous floor lamp and it has such a nice ambience while it is lit up. It does take a little patience to put this together because you don’t want to rip the rice paper covering. But once it’s set up, it’s absolutely gorgeous
