I bought this on a friend’s recommendation & it worked like a miracle! My husband went through a pretty informative “pool school” when we bought our pool several years ago & has done great at keeping it clear & maintained. This past year we didn’t close down our pool properly & it was green with leaves, debris & tadpoles living in it. He shocked it several times & added chlorine & clarifiers but discovered it was too alkaline & chlorine locked. The water had cleared up somewhat & turned a slightly greenish hue, however we could not see the bottom. I ordered the Green to Blue & neither of us were too optimistic it would truly work. To our surprise the next day we woke up to crystal clear water & we could see all the way to the bottom! The powder you put in circulates & then falls to the bottom so you do have to sweep it out afterwards but your pool water will turn out beautifully blue & clear!     • Clean the leaves out before you start

This is my second year using Green To Blue. I was confused about how to use the product the first year. When I was finished it all made sense to me so this year I was much more successful cleaning my pool. I don’t have a pool cover so this is a three step process for me instead of two steps. 1. Prep you pool. By this I mean take your skimmer and clean as much debris, sunken leaves and such, off the bottom as you can. I had a ton of leaves hidden in that green, murky mess. I knew where the leaves collected and swept every day for a week. Because of the murk I never knew what I was going to drag out. The less debris you have the better this product woks. 2. Use the correct amount of shock according to directions on the box and bag. Filter your pool. 3. After the shock is thoroughly mixed in, pour in the clarifier. Recirculate without filtering for an hour. Let it sit still overnight to allow all the particulates to settle to the bottom of the pool. Set the pump to discharge and vacuum your pool. Mine was so bad I had to shock the pool a second time. The pool was cleaner but not clean. I could see all the settled debris and swept the floor again. The fewer leaves in the pool the better the product works. Repeat shocking, vacuuming, and debris removal until your pool is clean. If this seems excessive that is a reflection of the condition of my pool not the product. I think I could have walked in that water. It sparkles now. Oh, the product does not turn your water blue. At least it didn’t turn my water blue. ... show more

Beautiful clear pool! My pool was green and shock alone was not doing the job. Purchased this item and followed the 2 step process. Vacuumed the pool and I had a clear pool in less than 3 days! Excited to be able to swim this summer.

This stuff works amazingly. If extremely green may take two boxes, but It will do the trick. Algae is dead over night and sinks to the bottom. Vacuum to waste two or three days in a row and clear pool again. Well worth the money. Only thing that has ever worked once water was all green. Pool stores test the water and will sell you a ton of expensive chemicals that don’t work. ... show more

This stuff gets the job done! It’s so much easier to just buy this kit to open my pool each year! After adding to my pool, then waiting the 1-2 days for all of the yuck to settle on the bottom, I vacuum it a couple times and then the water is clear and ready for maintenance chemicals. So far, two of the packs have a brown sandy substance in the package. I reached out to the manufacturer and have not received a response. This stuff is not cheap and I had to use extra chemicals to clear up the mess it made. My husband doesn’t take care of putting chemicals in the pool so he had no idea what it should look like. When he put it in it made the water very cloudy. I opened a package and it looked fine. Opened another one the next week and had another bag of brown sandy substance. Very disappointed. ... show more
