Just got my hurricane ukulele. It is a thing ‘O beauty in a wild kinda way. My only complaint is that the action is pretty high but my goodness. It’s a ukulele. I can still play it easy. I might try filing the bridge but I don’t want to mess up the intonation which is great! Mine came with 2 strap buttons. Yes I read all the reviews before I purchased. Also came with tuner,strap,an exceedingly good gig bag etc. The tuners are excellent! Like really excellent. The tone is pretty good but I kinda think it’s gonna get a lot better with time and settling in the strings,etc. The strings are not tied down. I haven’t loosened them enough but apparently they tie on or something inside the body. I’ll figure it out. But for right now, if I got a guitar with this high action, I’d say no way. But seriously it doesn’t matter. It’s beautiful, it’s wild, and I can’t wait to see where it takes me. I got the spalted maple. It’s really beautiful.

The look of it is simply super high end, tough it is not solid wood it looks just as if it was all mahogany. Beautifully built. SOUND: Very clear and nice resonance from the woods which plays very well with an acoustic guitar in terms of volume. It is little, but puts out a nice warm yet Ukulele like crisp highs STRINGS: I have kept the ones that are on and they do match the additional ones that they sent out (which is really cool), again not a Ukulele pro, however the strings are holding up very well and after the first week of playing and stay in tune quite well BODY: For this price, SUPERB! It is solid built and I can tell it will also take on some beating for a while. The neck is beautiful with a satin finish which makes nice to slide back and forth as you play TUNERS: These in combination with the strings that it comes with have worked super well to keep the instrument in tune for days at a time only minor adjustments every other day, and good to go. PLAYABILITY: Right out of the box this Ukulele feels very smooth around the fretboard, the frets are well polished and do not catch your fingers, the back of the neck allows for easy position change. BAG: Sturdy, extra pocket with zippers for any accessories you might want to carry (tuners, strings, pics, etc.), and it has two shoulder straps sot that you can wear it like a backpack. Nice! EXTRAS: in most cases the “bundles” are a combination of a few cheap items along with the main Item just to catch attention. Not the case here, the tuner (of the same brand as the guitar) works super well, and the plus is that it can be used for any string/vibration instrument. I haven’t used the extra set of strings, but if they are the same as the ones that came installed, I am in good shape. The strap as a really nice pattern and works very well, it can even be adjusted to fit a smaller child. Also comes with a nice padded case. High quality case ..

I received the Hricane Ukulele in an over-sized box, which was good to protect the inner boxer with the ukulele in it. I opened it up, and was really impressed by the craftsmanship and glossy finish. After tuning the strings properly, I played a few songs. The tone was really nice, and feel of the fret board was great, and for the money, this was a really good ukulele. One thing...there was no strap buttons installed on this ukulele, but the pictures show strap buttons. The included strap is a hook on version. To me this is not a big deal, as strap buttons can be easily installed if needed. I would recommend this ukulele to anyone starting out, or even an advanced player. The fit and finish is excellent.

1st - the measurements of a concert ukulele. 1st string 0.024 inch (bottom string) 2nd string 0.029 inch 3rd string 0.036 inch 4th string 0.025 inch (top string) Width at nut 35 mm Width at 12th fret 44 mm String Spread at nut 29 mm (measuring from the outside of the strings) String Spread at Bridge 42 mm (measuring from the outside of the strings) Amount of material you can remove from Bridge 2.22 mm. That is how far it sticks out. That is how far you can lower it. Fret height 0.035 inch or 0.9 mm The ukulele brings a smile to my face. It is very well set up to someone coming from a steel-string guitar background. The effort to fret is minimal - buttery smooth. I think some of the difference in reviews is from maybe people who are used to a nylon/classical guitar or ukulele? From someone with a steel-string guitar background, this instrument is fine. My kid, who has never played guitar or a ukulele played with it all night and fretting fine. There isn't much tension with this type of string and instrument. Also, this is a relatively inexpensive ukulele - so you cannot expect the same quality as a high-end guitar. As to high-end guitars, you have to buy a few from famous manufacturers to see how bad they can be. Some companies went belly up because of low quality. I don't like to name names. Well glued on bridge, well made nut, about the price of 10 sets of strings. Well worth it. As to sound, I am not experienced with ukulele sound but it sounds well enough. Also, I plan to travel with it, leave it in the car in the case during lunch, have it next to me when I am working late at home, go hiking with it, etc. So it serves a purpose well. I plan to do a setup soon to make it even better.

This is a uniquely shaped and adorned ukulele, for sure. There's no cosmetic flaws on mine, that I can see. It has a nice crisp sound, without any boominess. I'll keep it.
