  • Great home printer
Had a previous HP laser @home that worked fine for the 7 yrs I had. But it couldn't scan to a usb. This is why I purchased this model. I picked up the Prime Visa card with it and lowered the price another $100. This printer does all it advertised and does it well. You can scan to usb or email as pdfs, jpgs, etc. Options to in/decrease size, darkness, etc. Print quality is great. Easy setup, in my case to Starlink. I also picked up a cover for it. Replacement toner (4/set) can be pricey. It takes some searching but usually Ebay comes thru for $80-$100. I think each color is good for 2500 pgs, black more. This has been a VG purchase. ... show more

  • Great scanner/printer even from iPhone Great scanner/printer even from iPhone
Ordered to replace my old hp laser jet. I wanted to be able to print from my apple phone and to scan documents to my computer. Works great. There was the problem with the starter toners. Order replacements when you by this unit cartridge doesn’t long. But as long as you know up front it is still worth buying. I ordered the extended cartridge when I bought. ... show more

  • CAUTION: Works great...until you need toner
The reality is, if you use this printer for homeschooling (or you just print things fairly often), you're going to need a rich husband (or a rich wife, I don't discriminate 😉). I didn't try to print entire books or anything, just a few pages every day or so for normal homework assignments. I also tried printing out a couple pictures, but nothing major. It took 3 months for the printer to say that all 4 cartridges were "beyond low". Buying the real HP cartridges costs ~$400 for all 4. Those cartridges are good for about 1200 pages. Or...go buy an EcoTank 4950 and get 7500+ pages and it costs less than $100 to replace all 4 colors of ink. It literally costs less to buy a nice EcoTank printer than it does to replace the toner in this HP printer. 😔🤦♂️ But, since it took 3 months, we're past the return window. I'm out almost $600 on a printer that I can't afford to use. HP, if you're reading this, please let me return this! Aside from the toner, the printer works great. My only complaint was that it was really hard to scan one page in a book because the LCD screen doesn't fold out of the way. So, where the book would normally just hang out of the scanner while you scanned one page, there wasn't really room for that. Definitely a design flaw. P.S. If you're thinking "I'll just go buy off-brand toner and save a ton of money; no big deal", then think again! HP has specifically put chips in their OEM cartridges to prevent this, and you'll have to disable all firmware updates, wait for the latest "fake" cartridges to come out, then buy that (with firmware updates off forever) to use an off-brand. It's a pain, and the quality of the off-brand cartridges isn't great anyway. You end up with weirdness in your prints pretty frequently. All in all, this isn't a printer for the average or even above average family. It's clearly aimed at milking businesses for toner fees over time. Just buy an EcoTank. You have been warned. ... show more

  • Easy setup. Plug in and go!
The HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 3301sdw is a dependable all-in-one color laser printer built with small offices in mind. It combines printing, scanning, and copying into a compact machine that feels sturdy and professional right out of the box. Print quality is where this printer really stands out. Black text is sharp and clean, and color graphics come out vibrant without looking oversaturated. It handles reports, marketing materials, and everyday office documents with consistent results. Automatic duplex (two-sided) printing is fast and smooth, which helps cut down on paper use. Setup is straightforward, especially over Wi-Fi. Once connected, it works well with computers and mobile devices, making it easy for multiple people to share. The automatic document feeder (ADF) is a big time-saver for scanning or copying multi-page documents. Performance is solid for a small workgroup. It prints quickly enough to keep up with regular office tasks without feeling sluggish. For most small businesses or home offices, it offers more than enough speed and capacity. That said, there are a few trade-offs. The starter toner cartridges don’t last long, and replacement toner can be expensive, which is typical for color laser printers. Some users may also experience occasional wireless hiccups, though these are usually manageable with basic troubleshooting. Bottom Line If you need a reliable, professional-quality color laser printer for a small office or busy home workspace, the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 3301sdw is a strong choice. It delivers excellent print quality, useful productivity features, and dependable performance — just be prepared for ongoing toner costs. ... show more

  • An unexpected surprise
Once i was able to set it up, I discovered a minor issue where the prints were streaking. Found out via a Google search it was a case of the ink particles settling. The site suggested rocking the toner carts. Which surprisingly fixed it. Now here is the big surprise, there is no factory warranty. Went to HP and tried to Register. it told me the warranty had expired. ... show more

  • Almost perfect…
Great print quality, fast response times, and easy to set up. However, if you go a few days between uses it is prone to losing connectivity, remedied by powering off for a minute, then powering back on. Connectivity has been restored each time when doing this. Scanning took a little while to master and is still somewhat fickle, but my only real complaint is that it cannot print, scan or copy 8.5 x 14 paper. I was naive in thinking that any highly rated small office printer would handle legal size paper. Not so much… ... show more

  • Sinatra would have sung: ‘Nice & Easy.
I’ve been using laser printers since they first became available, both black-and-white and color. For the first time since Apple stopped making laser printers—a long time ago, I’ll grant you—I’ve found a printer at this price point that delivers print quality worthy of much larger machines. I tested it on both text and images, and it could almost be described as a *graphics-grade laser printer*: the colors are highly accurate, and the print quality is remarkably sharp. Among the positives is the initial setup, which features a very nice color display and a simple, step-by-step guided installation process. macOS users will find the HP Easy Scan app in the App Store, which allows you to import documents directly to your Mac. That’s also where you’ll find the app used to manage the printer itself (HP Print & Support). The only real downside is the price of the toner cartridges, which is frankly excessive for this type of printer. That said, it may be the trade-off for achieving such high print quality—because with laser printers, the technology matters, but so does the fineness of the toner powder. ... show more

  • Scan colors aren't true
This is a decent multifunction machine. It certainly isn't the best, but for the price, this will do in most homes. Let's talk about the different functions: Print, scan, and copy. Print: The print colors are good with very little lines in images. Text and images are not quite crisp with outer edges of images/graphics showing a pixelated shadow. Printing is fast, both B/W and color. The machine prints two-sided, so no need to manually feed odd numbered pages back into the machine for two-sided prints. As for media, I've printed 4x6 cards, #10 envelopes, and 8x14 documents and they all feed well with no issue. The seal on some self-adhesive envelopes have failed due to the heat of the rollers, but that varies by brand of envelope. Again, for home use, this is more than adequate. Scan: Scanning is sub par. Colors aren't vivid, with blues (think rollerball pens) looking purple, and purples (like notary stamps) looking dark gray. As for the document feeder, each sheet is ever-so-slightly misaligned in the resulting scanned image. Copy: The copy function is good. Again, not super great quality, but very acceptable for at-home use. As with the scan function, copies are slightly skewed if fed through the document feeder. Overall, just an okay machine. Considering the cost, this is a good machine if you're not in the market for high quality printing, scanning, copying. I'd say this is the next step up from a budget multifunction machine. ... show more
