After my old inkjet finally gave up the ghost (and after spending way too much on replacement cartridges over the years), I decided to make the jump to laser. Did a bunch of research and landed on this HP Color Laserjet Pro - honestly, wish I'd made the switch sooner. Setup was pretty straightforward, though the wireless connection took a couple tries to get right. Nothing too frustrating, just had to restart my router once. The HP Smart app walked me through most of it. Once it was connected, printing from my laptop and phone has been seamless. The print quality is really impressive - colors are vibrant without being oversaturated, and text is crisp. I mainly use it for client presentations and occasional family photos, and both look great. The speed is a huge upgrade from my old printer too. What used to take forever now prints in seconds. Scanner works well for documents, though the photo scanning is just okay - not amazing but gets the job done for basic stuff. Copy function is handy for quick duplicates without having to mess with my computer. Only minor complaints: it's definitely bigger than my old printer, so make sure you have the desk space. Also runs a bit warm when printing a lot of pages, but that seems normal for laser printers. The toner cartridges aren't cheap, but they last way longer than inkjet cartridges did. Overall really happy with this purchase. It's been reliable for about 6 months now with zero paper jams or connection issues. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a dependable color laser for home office use.

I’ll start by saying that I purchased a HP CN598A#B1H Officejet Pro X576dw printer 11/14, and had over 11 years service with the thing without any major problems before the mother of all paper jams occurred. Based on this experience, I decided to buy another HP product as a replacement. Purchased an HP MFP 3301 SDW 1/26. This thing is a piece of junk; DO NOT BUY. • Upon receipt of the printer, I encountered the infamous HP connectivity issues. Eventually, I had to give up entirely on the wireless connection since my PC could never find the printer on the network. (And yes, Other printers on the network appear on the print menus and work fine) I had to eventually resort to a wired connection. No big deal in my case due to printer location, but undoubtably a show-stopper for others. • The next problem occurred 2 weeks after purchase. With double-sided print is set on pop up print menu, the printer printed all odd-numbered pages in range, single-sided, then all even pages, also single sided. Printer worked OK prior to this. I have never in my life encountered an activity as useless and frustrating as dealing with HP “AI help”. Suffice it to say that over an hour was spent on the web with no result, before any opportunity occurred to talk to a human being. If you think voicemail hell was bad, wait until you try HP “AI help”! Problem turned out to be that the HP software somehow loaded the wrong driver. Why this occurred several weeks after the initial (Apparently correct) installation remains a mystery as I certainly did not modify the printer driver. Suffice it to say, it took another hour, including the obligatory telephone disconnect and repeat, before this issue was identified. • Since then, the printer often, not always, prints an extra sheet at the end of print job, with one line of text reading “PCL XL error”. Problem comes and goes without explanation. I have never developed the stomach necessary to again contact HP “AI help” on this issue- I much prefer to just waste a sheet of paper with every other print job rather than go through pointless HP “AI Hell” again. • On start-up, since day one, the printer frequently goes into a loop, endlessly displaying the “scrolling dots of death”. Usually more than 1 cold boot of printer is required to obtain a successful start-up. • There have also been several instances where, for unexplained reasons, the printer decided to print B&W, despite all printer settings set to color. • Once I exhaust the current print cartridges, this thing is likely going into the recycle bin. Suffice it to say that I will never again in my life buy an HP product.

Had a previous HP laser @home that worked fine for the 7 yrs I had. But it couldn't scan to a usb. This is why I purchased this model. I picked up the Prime Visa card with it and lowered the price another $100. This printer does all it advertised and does it well. You can scan to usb or email as pdfs, jpgs, etc. Options to in/decrease size, darkness, etc. Print quality is great. Easy setup, in my case to Starlink. I also picked up a cover for it. Replacement toner (4/set) can be pricey. It takes some searching but usually Ebay comes thru for $80-$100. I think each color is good for 2500 pgs, black more. This has been a VG purchase.

Great print quality, fast response times, and easy to set up. However, if you go a few days between uses it is prone to losing connectivity, remedied by powering off for a minute, then powering back on. Connectivity has been restored each time when doing this. Scanning took a little while to master and is still somewhat fickle, but my only real complaint is that it cannot print, scan or copy 8.5 x 14 paper. I was naive in thinking that any highly rated small office printer would handle legal size paper. Not so much…

Ordered to replace my old hp laser jet. I wanted to be able to print from my apple phone and to scan documents to my computer. Works great. There was the problem with the starter toners. Order replacements when you by this unit cartridge doesn’t long. But as long as you know up front it is still worth buying. I ordered the extended cartridge when I bought.

I’ve been using laser printers since they first became available, both black-and-white and color. For the first time since Apple stopped making laser printers—a long time ago, I’ll grant you—I’ve found a printer at this price point that delivers print quality worthy of much larger machines. I tested it on both text and images, and it could almost be described as a *graphics-grade laser printer*: the colors are highly accurate, and the print quality is remarkably sharp. Among the positives is the initial setup, which features a very nice color display and a simple, step-by-step guided installation process. macOS users will find the HP Easy Scan app in the App Store, which allows you to import documents directly to your Mac. That’s also where you’ll find the app used to manage the printer itself (HP Print & Support). The only real downside is the price of the toner cartridges, which is frankly excessive for this type of printer. That said, it may be the trade-off for achieving such high print quality—because with laser printers, the technology matters, but so does the fineness of the toner powder.

I purchased 2 of the HP Color LaserJet PRO MFP 3301 printers for our office. Small group printers only 2 or 3 people each. On the initial order one of the printers failed within a couple of weeks. Amazon/HP sent a replacement. They have been working for about 1-1/2 years but they are a pain. Have only used OEM HP toner cartridges. One of the printers has constantly had cartridge leaking issues when the toner gets low and we end up with red or blue streaks on the pages. Have had connectivity issues between various computers. They are connected via Ethernet cable to the LAN with static IP addresses. Yet they still manage somehow to not be connected. Toner cartridges are extremely expensive and don't seem to last very long, even the high yield cartridges. With all 3 color toners replaced every 3-1/2 months on average for each printer. Black toner gets replaced every 2 months on average. For the cost of the toner over the last 21 months we could have purchased 11 new printers. Now one of them is toast. It will not initialize, sits at the HP logo on the screen and restarts over end over and over. Nothing works to get it to the point where any suggestions on line will work. HP will not talk to me because the warranty is up unless we pay them for support. To send it in to a "certified" HP repair shop will probably be the same cost as a new printer. I have used HP lasers for as long as they have been around, I still have an HP Laser Jet 1200 that is ancient and still works and it's not just a personal printer. Several people use it in a small office. HP is no longer the leader in Laser printers.
