I used to use laser, then went to inkjet. the inkjet cost was high for all the ink it used and the quality got much worse over time. This was a easy setup. Just plug it in, press the wireless then put in your network key. Then goto 123.hp.com and put in the model number and download the software. I was impressed with the ease of setup and it printed right away. This will be cheaper in the long run. I will be buying genuine hp cartridges for this to insure good printing for years. They did not seem to bad in price when comparing the price per page over time. I have always found hp to be superior to all other printers and I have owned many. ... show more

I did not like anything. Scanning was too time consuming, printing photo results was terrible, because of a clumsy paper system, the printer did not fit on my printer shelf. The whole thing was exasperating, probably made for techs but not for an elderly person.

I like the clearness of the print and that it is quieter than the old printers. It will also be nice to not run out of ink as fast as the old printer. I am still working on getting it all hooked up. It is different than the old printer so am still trying to get the cables to the correct spot. The instructions that come with the printer are not really clear, or rather they are so brief that I don't really understand them. Have found directions from the company on line that would have been nice when I opened the box. ... show more

This printer prints on regular paper just fine, but it won't print on card stock. Nothing but jams when that is tried. Printing speed is very slow and I thought I could live with the single-sided printing. When needing to double side, you place the paper in back in the tray and then have to go through a process before the second side starts. Very odd. Not liking this very much. Let me start out by saying the print quality of this laser printer is wonderful (color and monochrome). However, the glaring usability issue of this printer is double-sided printing (duplex printing). This printer only prints one side at a time and the user must manually reload the paper to print the other side. To me, this is a deal breaker. In 2019, duplex printing should NOT be manual, especially on a laser printer. In 1999, my ink jet printer was auto-feeding duplex printing... The second, less important form factor design flaw, improvement is the load paper tray extends beyond the body of the printer (almost 4 inches). This would not be a deal breaker for me but seems lazy from a design perspective. Engineers get paid big bucks to solve problems exactly like this. Move internal things around....turn the paper 90 degrees....load from the side....make it an inch taller...but don't have this eye sore right under your HP emblem. ... show more

I've had this printer for a year now and am returning it. I print 70 pages a week for a church and the printer gets so hot it curls the pages and makes paper jams constantly. Some paper jams are very difficult to fix.
