I have been using this hotplate for two months now and absolutely love it ( we are in the middle of a renovation and don't have access to a cooktop.) I bought a second one even, I was so impressed with its performance (and now I can cook an entire meal at once!). The temperature control actually controls the temperature (!!!) and cycles on and off to maintain whatever level you have it set at. I have used it for everything from searing and sauteing to caramelizing onions and simmering for an hour to make broth. I've used copper core, stainless steal, and nonstick pans and pans with bases from 10" to 14" with no problems. I'm almost tempted to toss the new cooktop out and stick with these!! Highly recommend these to all types of cooks, including serious ones. I'm not a fan of cooking on electric but if I have to, these are the ones to use. ... show more

I purchased this cooktop on July 29, 2019 from Amazon.com and regularly used it as guided by the instruction manual, but it was not working around July 10, 2020, since it is still within 18 months warranty. I emailed them by the warranted contact method, and 35 days passed, and no response at all. Disappoint! ... show more

I needed to boil water for cooking and was looking for something more powerful than my ceramic IR stovetop. There's a temperature limit for the plate that makes it take longer to boil. The center of the plate is recessed and is limited to 900 degF and the outer edges are around 500 degF. It took a half hour to boil a half gallon because it was switching on/off before the water reached boiling. They should advertise it as 750 Watts because that's effectively what it puts out. I have a 750 Watt 6" coil and it heats the same as this one. It also had smoke coming from the inside the first time it was used. Needs good ventilation the first time used.     • Better quality than expected, for the price
Very easy to clean with one gentle spray of alcohol when the surface is cool, no dirt gets caked onto the ceramic plate. It warms up very quickly but maintains the temperature desired; the dial is very sensitive, a small touch pumps up the heat considerably, which is great to give shots of heat and then return to a lower temperature to keep something warm but not overheated. I gave this product 5 stars in weight because it's lighter than you'd expect, and it's easy to handle. I did not have smoke or burning odors on first operation, as it's indicated in the instructions that it could happen. I've used this product several times now and I am very satisfied with the purchase, I think it's a good deal for the price. It is sturdy, and completely silent. I much rather have a ceramic top warmer than plain convection, the radiator going on and off emitting a soft red light is a good reminder the device is still on, if you're cooking nearby or doing other tasks in the kitchen, you can see it under the scope of your side vision when it's active. What I like the most is that it's easy to keep clean spotless, pretty much as if it was just taken out of the box. I just wait until it's completely cool to wipe it. I also wipe it clean it before using it, making sure there are no damp spots or dirt spots over the ceramic surface before plugging it in. ... show more

I purchased this to assist in making candles. Love it's made out of metal but still light weight. This inferred cooktop gets so hot I could use it to heat up my room(in a good way). Took just under 3 mins for me to boil water in a medium sized pot. I will use this to cook some meals also. It took me about a week to finally decide which one to get and do some research. This being my first one I'd say I've scored on picking the right one. And btw your not limited to what cookware you can use like the induction cooktops. And lastly the price point was pretty good. Even heating, very light weight and compact so doesn't take up much counter space. Gave it 4 stars for ease of use because it's a little tricky getting the heat just right. Will take some practice. Used a small cast iron skillet. Result was very even heating and good cooking results. Definitely happy with this burner! ... show more
