I am a post-menopausal woman with my second round of hormone-receptor positive breast cancer. Because of this tumor's location, the docs wanted to shrink it before doing surgery. So they put me on Letrozole, intended to starve the tumor of estrogen over about 6 months. I am taking 4 gm (8 capsules) per day of the turkey tail mushrooms along with the Letrozole. I started the Letrozole at 1/8 of the standard 2.5 mg dose and worked my way up to 1/2 dose in week 4 and following. When I went in for more imaging at 4 weeks, they found the tumor GONE on mammogram but still visible on ultrasound. The size, in volume, on ultrasound was reduced by 75% compared to pre-treatment!! The breast surgeon said it was "NOT POSSIBLE" for it to be gone after 4 weeks on Letrozole, especially at such a low dose. Although it wasn't totally gone, the radiologist called it a "residual mass" - - meaning the leftover remains of a tumor. Another ultrasound one month later (still on only 1/2 dose of Letrozole) showed the tumor to be 94% reduced in volume compared to pre-treatment!! It is a shadow of its former self! That's an astounding result and I can only attribute it to the turkey tail mushrooms, perhaps amplified by the low dose of Letrozole, or perhaps the mushrooms alone would have done the same thing. No way to know. I plan to stay on the mushrooms for the rest of my life. I'm convinced that if I had started taking it 3 years ago with my first episode of BC, I wouldn't have had the recurrence. I believe the mushrooms caused my immune system to attack and kill off the cancer cells. Now, as if that isn't enough, I can also report on 3 additional and very noticeable benefits from the turkey tail mushrooms. Within days, I noticed 1) a marked increase in energy; 2) a significant boost in mood, and 3) a very noticeable increase in salivation. As a post-menopausal woman, I had developed a somewhat dry mouth. I was down to dental cleanings every 4 months, with lots of scraping of plaque. At my most recent cleaning, after 2. 5 months on the mushrooms, the hygienist was surprised at how little plaque I had this time and said I could go back to cleaning every 6 months. (The more you salivate, the less dental plaque you form.) The increase in salivation is not an effect of the mushrooms that I have seen mentioned anywhere so please note in your reviews if you notice this also, and tell us about mood and energy too. If you are in any stage of dealing with breast cancer, prostate cancer, or maybe even other cancers, I would strongly recommend this product, and please share your experience in reviews on here. The more detail you can give, the more helpful it is to others. Host Defense is the best brand out there. Others may be a little cheaper, but I trust Paul Stamets and his Fungi Perfecti lab.

I am using this along with Chauga for my husband who is dealing with cancer, dementia and diabetes. Not sure about the dementia and whether it is helping. I can say the dementia has not gotten worse. What I am singing praises about is with the cancer (mainly) and diabetes (secondary). Frankly, if you don't work on your diet and stop putting bad things into your body nothing is going to help with diabetes. There is NO magic pill. I can say my husband's diabetes has not gotten worse over the last 1 1/2 years and I can say I think the Turkey Tail/Chauga combination has help regulate his blood sugars (fewer swings in blood sugar levels). Where this combo shines is with my husband's cancer. We've gone from being given little hope, to wonderful results, to a re-occuring tumor and back to sorrow, to being told the new tumor was non-cancerous and now to a doctor who shakes his head and says ... I don't understand but keep on doing what you are doing. The ONLY treatment my husband has received with exception of 1 chemo treatment is Turkey Tail/Chauga. He's not out of the woods yet but he's on his way. I see overall health improvement - more energy, better blood sugar levels, his coloring is back to normal, his mood (dementia) has leveled out. My research has led me to believe Host Defense is the best resource for these supplements and I will only buy this brand as long as it's available. A little pricey but I truly believe these supplements are helping to keep my husband with me and I am very thankful.

My holistic doc recommended that I take 4 caps 2xs a day....unfortunately I probably can't keep reordering, this product is extremely expensive and now I have to hope to find a good quality at a lower price. If you have the money this a great choice.
