I have done a comprehensive review of this microphone comparing it to other USB mics as well as higher end XLR offerings. For the money, this seriously outperforms some of the well known brands. The capture is well rounded, providing a rich and bass filled recording. The mic is highly directional with very good ambient noise reduction. I had some issue with the amount of dirt and hair collection on the foam pop filter but it is removable so can be cleaned easily. The material quality is top notch and there is also a hint of RGB for those that need it. The defining feature of this mic is the XLR output which can be connected to a audio interface. After listening to the recording through both outputs, it is clear to see that XLR is the better option. This is great if you are on a budget as you can start out with USB and then upgrade down the road to XLR. I highly recommend this mic for anyone starting out in podcasts or streaming. ... show more

previously i had owned a FIFINE AMPLIGAME USB + RGB mic, which in terms of price.. it does well. it wasn’t really the best quality but it did it’s job with a few tweaking softwares to endure the crispy ness. i saw some reviews on the AM8 and this mic was getting sold for less than 50$ here, so i was wanting to see if the mic was going to be a great bang for the buck. the initial expectation was that the mic was just going to sound as the same compared to the previous one i got. but after the first use, i was impressed on how CLEAR it sounded. i read the words “podcast mic” on the box and it really stood up to the hype. i barely have any tweaking to do since the mic itself is already as clear as day. the RGB looks amazing, covers a good portion of my desk setup! my final ranking on this : 1111100/10 and that’s me just being real on this, get this mic and i promise you guys will not regret it. ... show more

I was going to go with XLR and audio interface but read that discord has issues with audio interfaces sometimes so I went with this. I considered others l ike rode podcaster USB/XLR and the maono pd400x. I decided to go with the cheapers AM8. People tell me I sound very clear so I am pleased with my purchase. It is kind of large but it's not a deal breaker. The RGB is cheesy but you can shut it off. I wish the mute sensor was a physical button because I often mistakenly trigger it. ... show more

I bought this microphone because really wanted a mic with great sound quality on a budget. I have to say I am blown away by how good this microphone is for the price point and the aesthetic of the microphone is very sleek. The value you are getting with this microphone is phenomenal and I have recommended it to many of my friends. Fifine's customer service has also been amazing, my original microphone was defective and stopped working after a few months. This microphone works amazingly, it has a glowing button that you can tap to mute/unmute which is great cause i can forget to unmute sometimes. It’s also very simple to hook up to your computer/laptop you just plug it into a used port. It does however have a problem with picking up a little bit of background noise which is a bit expected due to its cheap price. EDIT(Post Receiving Replacement) It appears the original mic I received was either faulty or was damaged during shipment I should have realized this due to the condition of the box but the inner contents looked unbothered Huge thanks to the customer service team who replaced my mic with a working one so now I feel it’s only right to update my review. For the price it actually has great quality in comparison to the other mics I have used( none really expensive but I’ve tried a bunch of budget priced mics with mixed yet decent results. What you get here you will not easily find it anywhere else. Actually before this mic came out I had been looking for one that can connect XLR and or USB C and most importantly has RGB lighting (I game I stream and create content so the more RGB the better. Not only do you get all of the above mentioned but you also get a 3.5mm built in Jack to live audio monitor which is a huge plus. The RGB lighting is aesthetically pleasing too. It’s not too much it’s just enough but it looks really good in the diffusing ring it’s housed in. It has a static color setting for each of its colors, a breathing multicolor and an alternating multicolor setting that you can access easily with a tap. The function only works when connected via usb as well as tap to mute and audio monitoring via 3.55 mm Jack but that’s another area where this mic is special. If you like me prefer the extra quality that XLR connection gives but also are dead set on RGB don’t worry. You can plug the XLR connection first and then connect usb c to gain the RGB lighting functionality at the cost of the tap to mute and the gain knobs built into the mic. This isn’t a bad trade off as these functions are generally handled by the audio mixer when connected via XLR. To get the exact sound you want you can use whatever EQ software you desire as long as your device can handle it. Also it’s very light but seemingly durable. I have it mounted to a boom arm and it doesn’t seem to add any unbearable weight. It actually is almost not noticeable as far as effects on the boom arm. It comes with a decent stand if you chose to forego mounting it but let’s be honest , you’ll end up mounting this at some point and you won’t have to go broke for a heavy duty boom arm. Besides how much I like my AM8 mic now I am also pleased with how customer service handled my issue and made me feel like a valued customer and with that they have made me more interested in future products knowing that I can expect quality for my purchase and the people behind it show care for their customers. I love the microphone itself, but the USB connector cable they send with it is hot garbage and when used with the microphone, makes the mic sound like a static storm, the mic itself is absolutely amazing as long as you have a USB cable that will connect with it.
