Sturdy and fits under the seat of my car. Perfect for storing my gun when I can't take it inside with me. Only issue, the lock is kind of weird. The key hole is round but there is no indicator of where the top is so you may find yourself fumbling around trying to get the key in correctly. Not good if you need to access your gun quickly. Also, the lock does not hold the key when in the unlocked position so if you leave the keys in when you open the lid they fall between the seats. The lockbox is fairly hefty and very sturdy. The key opening is a bit tight to get the key in, but works perfectly otherwise. The steel cable is easy to install, find a place you can tether the cable to by running the end through the loop then place the end inside the case and close it. It fits my .357 quite well with some extra space so it's not rubbing on the sides. The foam inside is quite stiff, that does make it a little harder to close since you have to hold down the lid to compress the foam around a firearm, once it's closed though you can be certain your firearm will not move at all. I would like the steel cable to be a little longer, but that's a small detail and isn't really a concern. ... show more

Lock box is descent size and feels high quality made like you would expect from hornady but in pics on item it shows the small compartment holding a gun but not sure what ones will fit glock 43 was to big to fit even with out magazine inserted but fits perfectly in larger compartment but all in all happy with the purchase verry nice lock box for the money ... show more

The second one worked perfect. I first one had a problem with one of the locks and they relpaced it not problem. Pros: - It is light weight. - Easy to grip the box. - The 2 tumbler locks are included and installed and do not need to be purchased like some other lock boxes you must but 2 pad locks to lock your box. Cons: - No handle - The locks do not come with a key. This was a surprise since this was not in the description. It would be nice to have a key since the locks are TSA compliant. ... show more

***Update 10/14/2020*** I contacted Hornady directly to explain what happened and ask how to go about purchasing a cable to replace the one that was damaged during the attempted theft. They responded within 24 hours to let me know that a replacement cable has been shipped to me. Folks, *that's* customer service that we don't see every day. Due to this experience with the box and Hornady's customer service team, I've added the fifth star to this review. ***Update 10/10/2020*** My vehicle was broken into this week. Although the lock box was under the driver seat and completely unseen due to other items on the back seat floor, the thieves found the box. Try as they might, they could not get into the box and the contents remained safe and secure. They also could not get the box separated from the heavy-duty cable and cable connector/receiver. The cable sustained some damage to the exterior materials, but the steel cable didn't break. This lock box is absolutely the one you want. If I was using one of the lighter weight boxes or one with a flimsy cable, I would have lost the box - and it's contents. --Original April 2020 review-- I've been using this lock box for several months and am overall very happy with it. The construction is solid - this isn't some lightweight metal like a cheap concession stand cash box or old time lunchbox. I was surprised by the weight of the box, it's seriously heavy. The cable that comes with it is equally as strong and heavy-duty. I wrapped the cable around one leg of my car seat and the box slides under the seat, unseen most of the time. The only reason I didn't give it four stars is that sometimes I have trouble locking the box back up and have to open it, make sure nothing is blocking it, and try again. That makes it harder to be discrete in locking it up in a busy parking lot. ... show more
