  • Fantastic Treadmill!
Style: 7.0 AT
Fantastic treadmill! I researched treadmills for a couple of weeks before I purchased this one. Experienced reviewers always rated it highly and they're right. It has all if the features you need. Speed control, pre-programmed workout, excellent incline range, it's super cushioned so it's very comfortable to walk on. There's a free app that can sync with the treadmill, adjusting the incline and time (not the speed for safety). The app is better for runners. If you're just walking there are some scenic routes you can look at while walking that have programmed inclines that can be customized, I use those every time. I believe you can use apps like ifit (with a subscription). A big draw for me was that you can sync your Samsung smart watch (Apple too). And you can sync multiple Bluetooth items. There's a port for plugging your phone in too. Excellent cup holders and a great space to put your tablet on top. Plenty of room for tall people with long strides. Be careful if you have low ceilings because you may not be able to use the full incline range. We have a low ceiling right over the treadmill but we can still get plenty of incline even if it's not the full height. There's a fan but it's pretty weak if you're a person who gets really hot, but it works for me. There are speakers for playing music but I encourage using earbuds instead because the speakers are not great. It's a BIG, bulky, HEAVY treadmill! You will absolutely need help getting it to where it's going to be. We do have issues pairing our smart watches. It takes a couple of tries for some reason. Once it connects though it works for the entire workout. ... show more

  • Fabulous treadmill
Style: 7.0 AT
I conducted a lot of research on finding the right treadmill for me. Without a doubt, the horizon 7.0 treadmill has turned out to be the perfect treadmill for me. Being able to incline to level 15 was something that was very important to me and it is seamless on how easy it is to operate this treadmill. Being able to adjust the speed and the incline was another very important factor in buying this treadmill. The assembly was very easy. The instructions were well laid out. I was very surprised that the motor was as quiet as it is. I would recommend this treadmill to anyone who is looking for a serious type of treadmill. It has been worth every penny. ... show more

  • Very high quality build, and extremely quiet. Could use some improvements, but worth the price.
Style: 7.0 AT
Overall, this is a very good treadmill. Not quite excellent, but very good. First of all, it's very quiet and is probably the quietest treadmill I've ever used. It's also quite comfortable to run on and the running surface and shock system are very capable. Could you get a better running surface or a better shock absorbing system? Maybe, but not without jumping up to a much more expensive system. The motor is very responsive, as well, and it gets up to speed smoothly and without issues. It's a bit slow to spin up, however, so that does take a bit to get used to. The incline system is also very smooth and I've had no issues getting it either up or down during runs. Hit the percentage you want, and the system almost silently goes to it. The first time I used it, I initially thought it wasn't working as I couldn't hear the motor at all. So, as far as the running surface, belt, and motors, I'm very impressed. Assembly was very quick and easy. I did it by myself and it took less than 20 minutes from start to finish. I did use a cordless driver rather than the included hex wrenches, but even using the included tools it shouldn't take long. Unlike some models, this one doesn't require much in the way of assembly and the instructions are clear and straightforward. The integrated Apple HealthKit is a major plus for me as I use an Apple Watch. It works smoothly and seamlessly and all the metrics (speed, distance, time) are sent right to my watch while my heart rate is sent to the console. I don't use the integrated speakers, so I don't know how well they work. Also, the built-in fan is there, but not very effective. The console display is pretty basic, but that was a selling point for me. I have no need of a huge LCD screen and am generally only interested in seeing speed, time, heart rate, and distance. All of that is prominently displayed on the console. It also shows estimated calories, pace, and an animated track. The controls are where this treadmill loses a star. Not because they aren't responsive, but because they are oddly configured. There are buttons on either side of the console to control incline and speed. These are in whole numbers. If you want incremental numbers, you must use the wheel controls. But the problem with the wheel controls is that they get in the way. I regularly hit them with my hand while running and inadvertently change the speed or incline. In addition, the heart rate sensor and wheels are clearly not angled for someone of normal height. To grab the heart rate sensors while running requires that you actually squat down awkwardly simply because they are not angled correctly. The model in the picture shows them angled up toward the console at perhaps 45 degrees upward and outward. In fact, they're very nearly straight up and down. While the wheels are still usable, the heart rate sensor is, for all practical purposes, not at all usable while running. Of course, then there's the issue of hitting the wheels with my hands while running. My initial solution was to remove the handles so they weren't in the way and rely on the buttons for controls. However, that meant I would only be able to go at speeds or inclines with whole numbers (7 mph, 9 mph, 5 degrees, 7 degrees, etc.) If I wanted 7.5 or 3.5 degrees, that can only be done with the wheels. So, I put them back on and just deal with the fact that they're oddly designed and kind of in the way. If there were improvement I could recommend, it would be that these get a redesign. The running surface does fold upward and is easily operated with one hand to raise and lower. The locking mechanism is operated with your foot while lowering the surface back down. I don't have a space problem, so I don't need to store it. However, even with the running surface raised, this still has a very large footprint. If space is a problem, this treadmill might not be the best option. Overall, though, I would definitely recommend this treadmill. Though not cheap, it's much cheaper than other models and provides all the items you might be looking for. Of note, while this is advertised as including a heart rate chest strap, mine did not include one. Not a big deal as I'm using an AppleWatch, but just a point of note. ... show more

  • Inexpensive, and the Cheap, Low Quality is Apparent
Style: 7.0 AT
I knew this machine was on the inexpensive side, but it was clear with assembly. It is cheap and you the consumer must deal with the way Horizon has cut costs. Directions are not clear, and lack context in some instances. For example, the leveling pads are shown in isolation. They are not labeled on the complete machine diagram, nor is there any reference to their location. The picture in the assembly instructions is different than the actual leveling pad. When lowering the frame down, my still factory wound electrical cord (plugs into wall) was cut by the frame (photo). Now I have a non functioning piece of garbage until some service solution is worked out. This is NOT the machine for me, or anyone. Actually running on the machine is adequate. The fan has as much breeze as is generated from a door closing. Not much! The speakers are shockingly low quality: a $15 bluetooth speaker from your local retailer has better sound. The big buttons on the console meant to operate the bluetooth speakers are a waste of space. Who will be listening to those tinny things anyway? There is no cup holder or hanger for a towel. So the machine does not have the basic functionality one would expect. ... show more

  • Good alternative to some of the pricier ones
Style: 7.0 AT
Great treadmill if you are looking for a basic, durable piece of equipment. You aren't tied to a specific subscription with this and has a great motor. Frame is very sturdy and the price is great.

  • Good solid machine, easy controls - fan/heart rate monitor not ideal
Style: 7.0 AT
Good product - researched quite a bit before purchasing. Pro's include a solid and quiet machine, easy adjustments (handle wheels and dashboard buttons for speed and incline controls). The build-in "fan" is a very light breeze so I don't bother using it, but not really a con for me. Only drawback are the handles: 1) they are positioned in a manner suitable for someone shorter (probably around 5-5.5 ft tall) so it's difficult for someone 6' tall to wrap hands around for heart rate, and 2) the heart rate monitor is not very precise, it can take upwards of 10-20 seconds before a fairly accurate reading. Other than those small items, I would purchase again. ... show more

  • One month in and…..
Style: 7.0 AT
I’m quite frustrated with this threadmill. One month in and the left handle scroll stopped working! For context we bought this model because it fits our space perfectly! The features were exactly what we wanted and we assumed quality was good. I’m also getting consistently static shocked. This is turning into a regrettable purchase. I’ll update this if I hear back from support. But as of right now I’d recommend not getting this. ... show more
