So I purchased this Table to Install on my Jeep 2016 JKU Willy’s Edition. Let me start off by saying the install is pretty straightforward if you have the correct tools. Just drill 4 holes. The included nutserts are garbage(two of them stripped out on the initial install). I was able to work through that with running some self tapping screws but once I installed, I realized that one of the latches is not locking, so it rattles as I drive, very annoying, I’ll have to Jerry rig something up but for now it’s on there. The build quality is fine otherwise, once its installed it’s very sturdy but just be aware this isn’t going to be a straightforward install, a buddy had one of these and had similar issues. ... show more

I just finished installing this. It took maybe 20 minutes. Instead of using the hardware provided I choose to install with self tapping screws. Holds well and is very durable. I added a tool storage magnet to the upper part to hold utensils and we’re cutting tools while camping. Just so happens it helps to hold the table more securely when closed, Not that it needs it just adding that in there. My only complaint and the reason it got four stars instead of five is because the cable on both sides is a little too long so it doesn’t sit level. About five minutes of my time, I cinched the cables up and is now holding flat and level. ... show more

    • Don't even think about buying this unless you have a rivnut tool.
The installation is impossible without a special tool, a rivnut tool. Luckily, I have one, so it went very well. Without this tool, you will not have a nice time trying to install this product. In fact, you will probably either commit suicide, or return the item. You can probably get the rivnut tool from your local auto store as a loaner. The retaining clips that hold the shelf closed are not aligned correctly, and do not work, so I will have to figure out a better way to keep the tray up. I might try one of the more expensive units of I had to do it again, but for what I paid, I'll make this one work for now. ... show more

It's really a nice table. The only gripe is the latches to hold it up are of poor quality. I ended up just removing the latches and using a pair of earth magnets to hold it up. Now my jeep is a portable picnic spot on wheels!

Easy to install and level. The only thing was that the drill bit sent was a little to small and I couldn’t push the nut into the hole. Ended threading holes right into the tailgate and added self tappers to the extra holes for added support.

Great table bad hardware This is a great table easy to install and looks great on the tailgate of my 18 jku The hardware not so much lol The latches are not strong enough to stay closed when in the latched position and sometimes don’t even close all the way as seen in my pics they also will come unlatched part way when closing the tailgate so when u close it and open it back up again your latches will be partially open they won’t come loose and drop your table but they do partially open when closing your tailgate the fix for me was to drill a 1/8 in hole in the end of the latch tabs And attach two 10 in mini binge cords to it Easy fix and a small issue if u ask me espicially for the price aside from its small hardware issues it’s a great table we really like it ... show more

    • Cheap materials but does it's job
I installed this on my Wilco Hitchgate Tire-swing on my 4Runner. The other option is a table by Front Runner which is $300 so I thought I'd take my chances. I was going to build my own table but decided to use this as a base. I drilled the table in (got rid of rivets) and it worked great. Fits my grill perfectly when camping. After a week the latches and screws all rusted out, but table is fine. Going to replace all the hardware and hopefully it holds up. Giving 3 stars because I spent $50, I knew it was going to be mostly crappy but it had a purpose and knew I'd be swapping some bolts. If you are looking for a sturdy base that you can replace materials on for cheap it is great to any of the name brand stuff out there. ... show more

I bought this for my Jeep Wrangler and was really excited. Sadly i did not read the reviews before purchasing which was my own fault... which was my own fault. This shelf is EXTREMELY difficult to attach. The hardware and instructions are cheap and strip easily. You need to do your research on Rivnuts and purchase a blind rivet gun if youre going to buy this. And it will take at least 5 hours to attach this. I'm already invested too deep, so I wont be returning but it i wish i would have known ahead of time. ... show more
