Finding the perfect room heater has been a difficult chore, much more difficult than I thought it would be. After all, the expectation of turning a knob or punching a button to have a heater deliver sufficient heat for the average sized room didn't seem to be that big a deal. But four room heaters later, I feel I've finally found what I wanted. This ceramic whole room heater does a quick job of heating a room and does it very quietly compared to other models. At low speed it's operating at half-power which for those of us who run these things a lot, means some cost savings while getting the same results. Some of these towers have a different approach which is to switch on and off in order to provide heat while using only 1500 watts to do so. In the long run, these units will cost you more money and won't be nearly as efficient. This tower also has a swivel feature that operates like a desk fan that rotates side to side, ensuring that the whole room is receiving heat. It also has a timer setting that ranges from one hour to eight allowing you to forget about it while you're in a particular room. This is a feature not often found at this price point. It also allows you to set the precise temperature up to 85 degrees and will hold that room temperature as needed. While smaller than other towers, it does the job of a much larger unit and so quietly you won't need to up the volume on the TV when this unit is running. Performance wise this does a good job and it comes with a remote (although the included cr2032 battery was dead). It provides heat quickly and while not super quiet it is not so noisy that you can't sleep. It was well reviewed by Consumer Reports so I went with it. Biggest issue is it has two blue led lights at the bottom of the base that are for motion sending if something gets too close are always even when it's not running. They are really bright so at night it really lights up the room. The rest of the control lights are red and clearly less intrusive. I had to put something in front a few inches to try to block the blue lights to really not be bothered by them. Blue light is not what you want at night so really not sure what they were thinking not using red lights. ... show more

So many of the heaters I had purchased previously, only would warmed a very small area... even being the same wattage as the Honeywell. The Honeywell was able to heat an entire 12 x 14 room. *Noting the temperature outside was 55 so it was able to bring room temp up to a comfortable 75. I like the room warm in winter.     • Does The Job Well, Lasts a long time

This basic heater is just what we needed for our chilly bedroom, and we use it nearly every night in winter. The controls are easy to understand and operate, and I'm glad for the digital thermostat and oscillation features - we use them all the time. I've not had any problems with it shutting off abnormally or failing to come back on once the temp has dropped in the room. All the functions seem to work fine, and it does what I tell it to. Like any heater of this type and size, the fan is just a bit loud. The oscillation seemed to acquire a tiny squeak a few days into running it all night, but that quickly went away and is now silent. It sits near our bed (pointing away) and does not disturb us at all. The real test of its value will be over the long term. If it lasts more than a year or two with all features intact, I'll be quite happy with it at $61.81 (US). I believe that Honeywell is still a respectable brand, so I'm not terribly worried. UPDATE: Here we are, 5-1/2 years later, and this little heater is still plugging along perfectly with no malfunctions at all. It's been well worth the price we paid. ... show more
