    • Does The Job Well, Lasts a long time
This basic heater is just what we needed for our chilly bedroom, and we use it nearly every night in winter. The controls are easy to understand and operate, and I'm glad for the digital thermostat and oscillation features - we use them all the time. I've not had any problems with it shutting off abnormally or failing to come back on once the temp has dropped in the room. All the functions seem to work fine, and it does what I tell it to. Like any heater of this type and size, the fan is just a bit loud. The oscillation seemed to acquire a tiny squeak a few days into running it all night, but that quickly went away and is now silent. It sits near our bed (pointing away) and does not disturb us at all. The real test of its value will be over the long term. If it lasts more than a year or two with all features intact, I'll be quite happy with it at $61.81 (US). I believe that Honeywell is still a respectable brand, so I'm not terribly worried. UPDATE: Here we are, 5-1/2 years later, and this little heater is still plugging along perfectly with no malfunctions at all. It's been well worth the price we paid. ... show more

I have had one of these that I used every winter in my office for years. When it finally died, I wanted to replace the same model. This rotates, the options are easy to use, and it works great! Recommend!

    • good heater, but… good heater, but…

i really like this heater. good heat output, gets quite hot actually. the only negatives i have with this heater are: - it doesn’t work for the room i intended it for. my husband and i got this heater for our room (the basement), which has no insulation, which means it gets EXTREMELY COLD in the winter time. we’ve been having to sleep in the living room for the last few weeks because it’s so cold. turns out, we can’t even use this heater in our room because it causes a power outage, even after unplugging most of the other appliances. i really wish it worked in our room because we haven’t been getting very restful sleep in the living room, especially since i’m 3 and a half months pregnant. another con: i ordered the “large”, but it’s a LOT smaller than expected. i know it’s advertised as “slim”, but it’s really quite small, and i don’t know if i’d call it a “large room” heater, more like maybe a medium room. i attached a photo of the heater, with a shoe beside it to try and accurately show the size. it only goes up to around my mid-thigh; i’m 5’2”. ... show more

    • Safe and warm .
Nice little heater for small rooms . Most importantly it is very safe . Especially if you have children or pets because if it is moved or falls it automatically turns off. It’s not bulky and doesn’t take up a lot of space . I am quite happy with this purchase.

    • This Slim Tower Really Surprised Me
This small heater is an incredible value. I got it to keep a small room that my dog stays in, warm during cold months in south-eastern Ohio. I thought it'd keep the room warm, but I realized I had to lower the temperature setting much lower than I expected so that the room didn't just get HOT. The temperature setting is very useful and allows me to dial in the temperature I want the room as expected. Because I don't need the heater on all the time, I've used the timer extensively. Works as expected. The oscillation is great, heats up a wider area quicker and can be stopped if I want to focus it in one spot. The feature I like most are the safety features. This heater won't overheat and has tip protection, which with the dog, I am very thankful for, though it hasn't been an issue yet. Seriously, I couldn't believe what I paid for this heater.     • Not the same heater as the first
**** WARNING, not the product pictured **** See 11/17/24 update below I use this heater to help keep the "rec room" in the basement a bit warmer than it normally is in the winter time. I have been using it for a couple of weeks now. Usually the room is about 4-5 degrees below the rest of the house (that we keep at around 68F). I was looking for a heater with a decent thermostat function. This one works well, although it cycles over about a 2-3 degree range. The tip-over switch is really sensitive, a simple bump shuts down the heater. If there are any negatives, it whines a bit more than the old unit it replaced. I am thrilled with the purchase. It does what is supposed to and does it safely. Highly recommended. Update 11/18/23: The "large room" heater that I bought 5 years ago is still working fantastically. It runs on the order of 8 hours per day from November through March. Every couple of years, I disassemble the heater to clean the dust out of it. It is not hard to do, but if you don't know what you are doing, you probably shouldn't. I just bought a "small room" version for our basement office. From what I can tell it is just as powerful and identical in function to the large room heater, but in a smaller form factor. It doesn't beep when you press the controls, which is a feature that I don't miss. And it has a dust filter, although it remains to be seen how much dust it will catch. Best of all, it costs a bit less. Update 01/06/24: After using this for a few weeks, I find that the small version of this heater that I bought has a thermostat that does not work anywhere near as well as that on the original. The temperature swing from on to off is at least 5 degrees. There is no excuse with the state of technology for a digital thermostat to work this poorly. Other than a relay and a small power supply, and a temperature sensor the whole implementation would be on a chip that costs pennies to produce. Honeywell should be embarrassed to have their name on a product that doesn't implement thermostats well, given that they are an industry leader in home HVAC thermostats. I dropped my overall rating from 5 stars to 3 because of the 2nd smaller unit which should get at best a 2 where the original larger one still gets 5 - even though that thermostat is also less than perfect, but it is good enough. Update 11/17/24: I ordered another one of the large room heaters because I liked the first one so much. What I received was a heater that has no digital display and no digital temperature setting. It has 4 heat settings 65, 70, 75, 80 and NO temperature readout. Shockingly, it has a sticker from Intertek (who must make it badged under the Honeywell name) with the SAME EXACT MODEL NUMBER as the first one I bought years ago. Needless to say I am returning it. DO NOT BUY. Do not let Intertek scam you out of your money. Amazon should not sell this heater, especially at this price. ... show more
