Description

Honeywell electronic digital entry levers feature traditional key access as well as the ability to unlock with a Programmable 4 to 8 digit user code (keyless entry). These Honeywell locks allow the owner to program up to 50 different user codes and delete them as desired. The Honeywell polished brass electronic digital deadbolt allows you to set an automatic lock function that will return the deadbolt to the locked position at a programmed amount of time after the lock is opened. There is also a vacation mode that puts the system into a low power consumption state and disables all buttons and functions until the programmer chooses to reactivate the lock. The lock features bump protection, an installation hardware kit and 2 keys, a single cylinder deadbolt, and is easy to install with PHILLIPS head screwdriver. The battery requires 4 โ€˜aaโ€™ alkaline batteries (not included). Great looking lock and handle. Loved it but after 1 week, the buttons no longer make any noise when u press them. I really liked that it gave a report when u pressed a button. Replaced batteries and still doesn't work. So that's disappointing it lasted 1 week.

Installation was easy. I see a lot of reviews here that indicate it was hard to install, but I found it easy even with a warehouse unit that was disorganized in the package. The handles go on easily and the basic process is the same as a normal handle with the minor addition of a wire and some batteries. The one big annoyance was programming the thing. You can have tons of codes but they are a headache to set up so I can't see anyone using more than one. The instructions are pretty clear, but the sequence of buttons and beeps and lights can be irritating to sit through and even one mistake makes it that much worse. Once done, it works well and the unlock mechanism is quick. One minor annoyance is that the numbers are laid out in an unusual manner than puts some in different positions than you might expect. Might be good to prevent over the shoulder snoops, but it was annoying at first even though I got used to it after a few uses. The keypad's keys are nice and the backlight is helpful. One thing I really liked is that the lock doesn't unlock when you open the door. So, I can open my door from inside the garage and walk out and close it behind me and the door is still locked. I am sure that this is a specific feature whose name I just don't know since I am not a locksmith or lock enthusiast, but I like it after coming from a a basic locking handle that unlocked when opened from the inside, requiring that you remember to relock it when walking out. ... show more

Good lock, works fine but there are 2 things I really don't like in the design: 1. If there is a deadlock above the lock you have to take the deadlock out to install this lock or when replacing the battery due to the lack of clearance. 2. The auto-relock feature should only apply when the keypad is used for unlocking, when the lock is manually unlocked from the inside it should remain unlocked until manually locked again. I have a Schlage keyless on my main house. I bought this lock because it was $29 less than my Schlage. First thing I noticed is that the plate that goes on the edge of the door does not fit where the old plate goes, without chiseling out some wood to compensate for its thickness. When I finished installing I noticed that it does not autolock. The kids unlock it to come in the house and they forget to hit the lock button. The door stays unlocked all night. I replaced my master bedroom closet electronic door lock with this. It was pretty easy to install. I usually donโ€™t have much patience for reading directions, so it took two tries to program codes. I think they could add one more page in their directions to help folks understand programming a little better. Other than that, it operates nice. Itโ€™s really smooth. This is 5th different electronic lock Iโ€™ve used (the other 4 are still in use - 2 here at home and 2 at a Commerical property). So far Iโ€™m more impressed with this lock. Again, it operates very smooth! It seems to be made very well. In the near future I will be looking to replace all my home door locks (not the simple closet locks) with WiFi enabled keypad locks. Iโ€™d like to be able to address a group of locks or individual lock. This way I check the health status, reprogram add/delete/change codes, change auto lock on/off, check status of lock/unlock, check access days/times, lock/unlock from my bed or hotel, etc. ... show more
