It is very simple and easy to use with no complicated programming . Here is the features that I wanted and I use and like: 1- It has a light built in so at night I can see what I set it to. 2- you can click a simple switch to heat or cold. 3- you set the temperature you want and it goes there. 4- I don’t have to figure out how to “program it”. I have order this thermostat twice. The first time in late 2021 it was a great thermostat. It takes a bit of figuring out to program correctly, but has worked great. The second one just arrived. Most of the packaging inside the box is missing. The box is torn and not sealed up or even taped closed. The plastic film on the front of the thermostat is missing and the lens has been scratched up. The booklet with the installation instructions is very wrinkled. Pretty sure this one has been returned before and the vendor ( aka Amazon) just tossed it all loose in a box and sent it back out to me. I put batteries in it and it appears to work. I upgraded my analog 2-wire thermostat in the RV with this digital thermostat. I carefully noted the R (+) and W (-) wires and plugged them into the Honeywell thermostat baseplate. Then I inserted two AA batteries (not included) into the thermostat and it worked. It has a backlight and shows the thermostat setting and the current temperature at the same time. It works off the 12v RV system, although it's designed for 24v systems. I like being able to set a precise temperature, rather than the old thermostat where a nudge moved it several degrees. My only negative are the fault codes on the display--they use numbers, for example, for low battery. ... show more

I replaced an original round style thermostat with this unit. The instructions were detailed but did not cover the type of color coded wires my system has. A phone call to their tech support line solved the problem very quickly. I recommend this product.
