    • Nice, but... Can't Control Color of Lights With Functions

The good part is that these are very sturdy lights. The cord is robust and the light bulbs seem durable too. I bought 8 of the 48' sets and so far have installed 4 of them. One remote controls all 4 sets simultaneously. The color choices are great and the functions cover everything I'd want in a set. The bad part is that if you use one of the programmed functions you have no choice over the colors. That means if you want a specific color, say orange for Halloween, or green for St. Patrick's Day you can't use any of the functions. The function keys override any color selection. So if you want blinking orange you can't do it. If you select blinking then the string will blink all of the colors one by one. For example, you'll get pink, then purple, then orange, then red, then blue, etc. This is obviously useless for Halloween when you only wanted orange. The only option you have is to select orange but not use any of the functions. You also can't select multiple colors which I thought would be cool to show my team's colors on game days. Nope, you can't select more than one color. So to recap my dislikes, you can only select ONE color and you can't select ANY color(s) when using the function keys because all colors will be used. So for all the special occasions where you want to display specific colors you can't do it unless you want only one color and you don't want any of the functions to work. I don't see an occasion where you'd want ALL the colors to be displayed except perhaps at Christmas so the colors of this set seem useless to me and you might as well just buy a less expensive set that only displays white. I gave it 5 stars for the durability of the set. I gave it 0 stars for the color/functions of the set (which is why I bought it). Based on this I gave it a 2. ... show more

I installed these lights on our deck and out of the box 2 of the bulbs didn’t work. They do not include any replacements in the package and no one carries these bulbs. We called and emailed Honeywell multiple times with no response. DO NOT BUY THESE LIGHTS!!!!!!! Amazon, you should stop selling these as the quality and customer service is horrible. I bought these back in the winter and just now put them up an I can’t return them now. ... show more

Added these lights (2 strings) to our courtyard. They were simple to install, look great and the easy color changing is a plus. I knocked the rating down to three stars because of customer service. One of the bulbs did not work so I sent an email with photos to the vendor asking for a replacement under the terms of the warranty. Never received a response. ... show more

Yep - as you can see in this photo, we have the same issue that so many others are having with these lights. A dead one right out of the box. Wish I had noticed it before hanging. That's on me. About this bulb- seems like sometimes (rarely), it will come back to life (zombie bulb), which indicates there may be a short somewhere in the wiring, which could be quite unsafe. So back to Amazon these will go. The ones that do work are fine and I like that you can change the colors with the remote, but does that really matter if the lights don't light up. Can't find out if you can even replace these bulbs- doesn't seem like it. Honeywell, please step up your QC game. ... show more

I would love to be able to see a whole string, but out of 4 sets!!! three dead bulbs and still can not get through to IDC customer service!!! phone line just rings, & Rings,& Rings,rings, & Rings,& Rings,rings, & Rings,& Rings. We put these up outside and tried them out at night. They're not as bright as I had hoped but the colors and remote do work as advertised. What impresses me the most is I can use the remote from more than 20 feet away. The bulbs are fairly thick plastic and seem to be pretty durable. These are actually out in the elements, not under a cover, so if I can, I'll update this review next month after they've been exposed to different weather types. ... show more

Replacement bulbs are impossible to find. Don't waste your money. Who in the world sells a product containing light bulbs but have no replacements for one that burned out after 1 evening of use.

Love the product, other than one bulb isn’t working and I can’t find replacement bulbs anywhere. I would not recommend this product because there are no replacement parts, you would have to purchase a brand new product that may work. I even attempted to contact the company, they did not respond.
