I am a beekeeper but don't have a need to install this until our temperatures drop from the 90's in November! But. for those with cooler weather, this keeps honey from crystallizing in cool weather. Honey is the only food that will not spoil and has been found in the pyramids in Egypt still usable! The only issue is that honey will crystallize in cooler weather making is harder to use is the kitchen and dining room. This is made for a 5 gallon honey bucket with a cutout for the honey bucket gate valve spout. The velcro makes it very easy to install around these specially designed buckets. It will work with other buckets of similar diameter but access to the honey would be a bit harder without the pour spout built into the bucket. This product is made of the three layer construction using Oxford cloth, cotton and aluminum foil to retain heat efficiently for long term use. The wiring is infrared carbon fiber with inner and outer insulation layers. You will have an LED digital display for setting temperature ranges from 68-145 degrees Fahrenheit. It also includes a 0-24 hour timer or choose continuous heat mode for your convenience. The functionality of this unit surpasses any honey heater I have used. Heat reading are easily set from Celsius to Fahrenheit to match your situation. Great product to keep your honey at the peak of usefulness all season, inside or outside. ... show more

This is a very handy item to have. I don't have a big bucket of Honey to try it out on. I do occasionally by molasses in half gallon or gallon sizes and this would be perfect to loosen it up for easy Flow. It is sturdy and well made the controller cord is attached to the bottom round section and it wraps right around your bucket and velcros in place. There is a pocket on the outside that you could easily slip the controller into if you needed to and it folds up flat for easy storage. The heat goes through the padding all the way around and the bottom. The exterior feels mildly warm while the interior is hotter. I find that it heats up fairly quickly, it'll start off at room temperature and probably within 20 minutes will reach highest temp. However I did place my meat thermometer on the bottom pad next to the controller to check how accurate it is. You can see in the photo my meat thermometer reads 20° higher. So I don't know if the remote is off or my meat thermometer but I can tell you I use my thermometer to check my meats to get perfect medium rare and it's always perfect medium rare so I would venture to say the controller is probably reading 20° lower than it actually is. Keep that in mind if temperature is important. The cord and controller are sturdy as well. Not for bodily use, but this is great for a heat pad in a pinch, and my frozen feet in winter after coming inside. Could be very versatile. Love it. ... show more

    • Great for brewing and fermentation.
This is working great for us. We got this for beer brewing not honey and it works very well for controlling the temperature for what we need for some of our beers and fermentations. This fits very nicely around our buckets and it plugs into a standard US socket and the controls for this enable us to dial this in for each of our fermentation needs. I have other bucket warmers that I have used in the past and this is the best one that I have ever purchased. ... show more

    • Expensive but worth it!
This thing is awesome! We tested it upon arrival and the temp setting was spot on. It's sized just right for a 5-gallon bucket. We plan to use this for lightly heating honey (to increase flow for bottling) and the controller will keep the temp low enough so we don't destroy any of honey's enzymes, etc. Wow it's pricey, but I'm going to purchase another one for our chicken waterer as this is exactly what I needed to keep their water from freezing without having a separate waterer for winter.
