works pretty well. I would have payed more for a stainless version of it. this is made of plastic but still seems durable enough for my application. I'm using it to fly sparge with just gravity feed off my hot liquor tank and it will spread the water out even at a pretty low flow rate which is what i wanted since i sparge kinda slow. im on a home-built system using welded kegs as my mash tun and whatnot and this works well at that vessel size. I also added a bit of silicone tubing inside the plastic tubing of this to reduce the diameter before it hits the laminar flow part that spreads the water out to increase my water velocity at the exit. it made it work a bit better at my lower flow rate so a pretty easy little modification to this if you aren't running a high enough flow rate to get the water to start spreading out.

I actually stumbled across this product because of an Amazon recommendation. I'd never given it any thought before but now I won't brew without it. Usually when going through the sparging process I was using a method of kind of pouring the water over the top of my wort and agitating it with my big stir spoon. Now I have a little pump hooked up to a length of hose and it's easy as heck to sparge. I've set it up so that I can run my sparge water through the grains three times in the same time that it took me previously to get the job done. I ended up increasing my brew efficiency by almost 10%.

Works nicely until the slightest amount of grain or hop trub gets through your recirculation pump and completely clogs this thing. Was a little tight going on my brewzilla gen 4, but a bit of keg lube fixed that. Perhaps if the 4 little holes the wort passes through it would work better instead of constantly clogging.

I have an electric brew kettle with a pump and this attachment is great for flowing hot water over your grain bed. It's pretty simple, but it spreads the water out evenly and works well.

The media could not be loaded. I have a Grainfather brew system in addition to a larger homemade system. I like this sparge diffuser to use for both of the systems. It diffuses the recirculated wort well. Very simple to use. With the threads on the shaft you could mount this into a lid for a DIY. It is well made, I would have liked to a have the full unit made of stainless. Likes - Easy to use - Works well with a pump or gravity fed Dislikes/Improvements - No dislikes - Would be nice to have a stainless option
