Before I got these, our fire pit had just lava rock. The flames would just come out of the rock, create some light and be gone. It looked nice but I was frustrated with how little heat it put out. I got these hollow balls to act as radiators to put out more heat. It really works. The flames channel through all the holes and the surfaces glows red, throwing off a lot more heat than before. I also tried the solid balls which are a lot less effective for heat output. Skip those if you want heat. The holes in the hollow balls are the key. Stack them wherever the flames are coming out so that the flames can lap the exposed faces of the balls. You want have red glowing surfaces facing outward toward you. Also, don't block the glowing surfaces by putting cold ones (not exposed to flame) in front of the hot ones. It takes a little fiddling to get a good arrangement.

They work as expected. Good that they are a flat black because the flame in the gas fire pit leaves a good coating of soot on the balls. They do get extremely hot and glow red when they are in the flame.

We got these balls to decorate our fireplace with. It's a three burner, high BTU fireplace. So one comment I would make is that the balls are very lightweight, but they appear to be very good quality. The only concern I had was certain markings and impressions on the balls that ruined some of the surface. Other than that they're a nice color and well made. There are a lot of people commenting on their balls turning black, that's not the fault of the ball it's a fault of the fuel to oxygen ratio and I made the mistake of turning my fire down and creating a more Rich gas environment, and that developed sit on the outside of the balls. I've hit to see if it's cleanable, but in past experiences I know that this is not cleanable and it does ruin the aesthetic of the balls. Hopefully I can get it off and go back to enjoying the aesthetic of the balls in my fireplace. But just to be clear it is no fault of the manufacturer that the balls are turning black. I haven't run these long enough in my fireplace to see if they crack or break under high temperatures. I have relatively coarse grit sand in my pit along with glass beads and so far they're holding up pretty well as they're sitting on top of glass beads and the sand. If they do crack or break I'll be sure to come back and post an update.

So originally I was pretty set on the single color. Unfortunately, they grey that I wanted was sold out so I had to get the speckled version. I ended up really liking how it turned out. They are pretty expensive and it took two orders of 24 to get a full look. The balls are not super heavy they are fairly lightweight but sturdy enough for decor. They look exactly like the photos. Im very happy with my purchase.

Wasn’t quite sure what to expect from these as I’d only seen them in fireplaces before and never been able to actually touch or hold one, but these are pretty awesome. I got the multi-size black style and although not all fit in our fireplace, we’ll use the extras in our outdoor fire pit and make use of them that way. I purposely got the black so I wouldn’t have to worry about smoke or soot marks when they burned. Really added a modern vibe to our indoor fireplace, which is exactly what I wanted. Yes they’re expensive, but in my opinion, totally worth it!

Was expecting a higher quality product based on the price. Very light weight, feels more like a dense styrofoam than a sturdy ceramic. Balls arrived with the exterior color scratched off in several places. Overall a cheap, low quality vibe, not in line with the image presented in the product description. The buyer indicates they charge a 20% restocking fee for returns.

We bought these in 2021 and loved them. Over three years they ave faded and are not able to be cleaned. I guess they are good for a few years then needing replacement. They worked well when lit, but now the finish is definitely coming off and very noticeable. We use these in our fire pit in the backyard, under a protective overhead cover to prevent sun/ rain from falling on top. Not sure if I would buy these again.

The media could not be loaded. Based on another reviewer saying that the balls with holes help to radiate heat, I made my first purchase in October (4" size). Boy, was he right!! Without them, we'd have to sit closer to the fire pit to feel the heat. I made my second purchase a few weeks ago (3" size). I wanted to have different sizes, spread out over 2 fire pits. This fire pit gets SO HOT that it melted the fire-glass underneath it!!! So yes, I highly recommend this product! Fyi: In the video attached, you see only the 4" fire balls.
