I am pleasantly surprised at how well these work. I thought they might bend or lean but they do not - and I have the Edison light string pulled tight. The key for me I think was making sure the ground was soft enough to push them ALL the way down. I have 5 of them situated around my patio about 12' apart. Works perfectly.

I have metal deck railings, so it was hard to drill holes, so I used zip ties to hold it steady, the pole is sturdy and adequate amount of weight for the lights to hold together. so far so good. Might buy few more in future.
