New York City has been experiencing extremely hot weather recently. To cope with the heat, it's natural to keep the air conditioner running at home. However, the AC in my parents' room is very old. Although it still functions, it produces a loud, tractor-like noise. The noise is so intense that it becomes uncomfortable, even though the unit cools the room. I eventually chose this Hisense model. Traditional window units often have more dependable technology than some newer designs. This unit includes a user-friendly control panel and a remote control. With the remote, my parents can easily adjust the temperature, fan speed, and mode. The installation was simple, but the 10,000 BTU unit is heavy. I asked my parents to help me lift it into the window. After we turned it on, the room cooled quickly. The strong cooling power made the room feel better quickly. When the room got cool, we turned on Eco mode. We turned on Eco mode. This helps save energy costs. The AC also has a timer that works for 24 hours. After setting it, they don’t need to wake up to turn it off. This helps them sleep through the night. Overall, this Hisense unit is a strong performer. It is quiet, efficient, and easy to use. I picked up this unit for an office room and it’s been working great. It cools the space fast, runs way quieter than I expected, and doesn’t seem to use much electricity. I picked up this Hisense 10,000 BTU unit specifically for my travel trailer here in Arizona, where the summer temps regularly push 110 degrees. Its compact size (about 18x12 inches) is perfect for a smaller setup like mine. Setup was quick and simple, and I appreciated that I didn’t need any extra hardware or assistance. So far, it’s kept the trailer comfortably at 72 degrees even during peak heat, and it’s quiet enough to sleep next to without issue. The multiple modes—Cool, Fan, Dry, and Eco—are a huge plus, especially for an off-grid solar setup like mine. Having options for power usage makes it feel more versatile than standard rooftop RV ACs. That said, the directional fins are basically useless. No matter how I angle them, the airflow still pushes straight ahead. They’re too small to really redirect the air. Another letdown is the inverter claim. One of the main reasons I chose this model was the promise of soft compressor starts to avoid hard power pulls. But this one kicks on almost like a traditional AC. Maybe I got a defective unit, but that feature doesn’t seem to work as advertised. Still, despite these quirks, it cools well, runs efficiently, and doesn’t scream while doing it. For the price and the size, it’s a solid unit with just a few things that need refining. If they ever fix the airflow direction and smooth out the compressor starts, it’d be an easy five stars. ... show more

Works Great as an AC & HEATER in 16x20 ft room vs an 1500watt standard heater only or a noisy window mounted ac. Worth every dollar. Just guesting it produces 3-4 times the heating area that a standard elec heater could. Also make sure you have a window to vent out of the exhaust hoses, due to when using in Cooling mod it blows out hot air out of one for the exhaust hoses & when in Heating mod it blows cold air out, the other hose draws in air to cool the unit. It a very quiet unit. Plus it uses 900watts max & No more hot electic outlets. Great Deal and should give one a lower electric bill as well. ... show more

Purchased this for a bedroom. It was a perfect size for the room. Keeps the entire room cool & is quiet so it doesn’t disturb any sleep. Remote control is handy if the temperature needs adjusting. Super easy to install & lightweight enough to lift into position. Fits in the window perfectly.
