Top Amazon Reviews

  • A bright, easy to use wonderful projector that works right out of the box.
This review is 100% human written with no AI used in any way. My public name is Mr. Critical for a reason, so when you see a 5 star rating from me, it's time to give the review some thought. After dealing with another projector for several months (see that review), I was shocked to find this projector so easy to use. First, you don't need a Google account (or any account) to plug it in and start using. Nice! Second, because it has a mechanical zoom, it gives you a wide range of screens and walls to project on. Be aware that you can't mechanically zoom in on screens that are too close (my situation), but the feature is nice to have should you get a new screen or wish to bring it outside. The brightness specifications of this projector is considered on the low side, but I found it by-far bright enough for my home theater setup. In fact, my other projector, which is spec'd brighter, still can't compete with this one. Third, the black-levels of this projector are darn good...not perfect (as it is DLP after all), but very, very good. Considering the fact that direct laser projectors cost $2,000 to $5,000 more than this projector, it's a wonderful concession. Because my screen is so close (i.e. my living room is small), the projector must digitally shrink the image to fit. That is where the black levels are important, because you don't want to light entire room's walls, ceiling, and floor with the light that extends outside the picture. On this projector you can see some of this "spillage", but it's not very bright and certainly acceptable (and not even noticeable when watching a movie incidentally). Out of the box, the projector already had the latest-and-greatest firmware. That doesn't mean a ton, but it does mean that they aren't updating the firmware every few minutes {fixing numerous bugs}, which is good. The projector auto-detects 3D, which works about 80% of the time. It could be better I suppose, but I don't watch enough 3D movies to make that a deal-breaker. Conversely, the 3D image is fantastic and very realistic. I would suggest Journey To The Center Of The Earth as a great movie to demo the 3D capabilities of this projector. Like all projectors, it does generate some heat (to make that bright image), but it's very reasonable. This projector does have a built-in fan, but it's very quiet and when playing a movie, you can't even hear it. The remote control is very slim, fully functional, and responds quickly and accurately. The external power brick (wall adapter) is a tad on the awkward side, but not that big of a deal. I wish the power cord (from the projector to the wall adapter is probably 6 feet, which is long enough for my layout. I mounted my projector upside down using the threads on the bottom of the stand/handle, and it's perfectly fine. Of course you have to change the projector settings to flip the image, but that's easy to do. Lastly, I can't find any bugs whatsoever. It turns on, it works, and it shuts off when I tell it to. That is all I want, and this projector delivers on every point plus some. I know I'm going to regret this review after I post it, because I'm not giving enough detail to really describe how great this projector is. However, I'll promise the reader that if I have anything to say after a bit of use, I'll be sure to update this review to reflect it (good or bad). Would I recommend this projector? Absolutely, positively yes! ... show more

  • Shattered expectations
I am blown away by the projector after upgrading from my Elephas W1K LCD projector. The Hisense M2 Pro delivers insanely vibrant and accurate colors even in daylight. The brightness is incredible for the price and the screen is sharp and clean across the full image, no fuzziness in the corners or vignetting. The low latency game mode is perfect for even FPS games that are competitive. I could not be more impressed. The built in speakers deliver loud punchy audio that fills a room with quality audio, it is more than enough for watching a shows and movies. The remote control is intuitive and quality, I appreciate the AI adjustability that keeps the screen perfectly focused and corrected. The colors even adapt so if you are using a wall instead of a screen the colors balance to the background. You cannot go wrong with this projector at this price. I look forward to taking it outside for movie nights due to its portability and included case. The reviews photos and videos cannot do this machine justice. Going from an LCD projector to a laser projector feels like going from a Prius to a Ferrari. ... show more

  • HONEST REVIEW: WHAT A FANTASTIC MACHINE!
So I upgraded from an old Epson short throw projector and I cannot explain how dramatic the difference is!!! The picture is better than my 4k 65" TV, thats no exaggeration. I am simply blown away by how crisp, clear and vibrant the image is when projected on a simple white fixed frame screen. Unboxing was simple. It comes in a heavy duty styrofoam case that I saw someone online cut out a hole for the lens and one more for the power cord so that it is protected around kids or while outdoors. Clever. I dont have that issue and mine is mounted to the ceiling (more on that in a second). The remote control is aluminum and hefty. It is also nicely backlit. The projector itself has a plastic case in a nice silvery almost champagne finish. The plastic is so good that it really looks and even feels like an alloy. I dont know how they did that. The included gimble is a nice touch. The stand has a 1/4" female mount for either a ceiling mount or tripod. I oped for the ceiling, like I mentioned earlier. However, the gimble is essential to mounting and I did not want a big rod with the large flat stand hanging off of it. I wanted it as flush to the ceiling as possible. So I opted for a flat camera mounting plate that I was able to affix thru the ceiling and into a rafter in the ceiling using structural screws. The plate, sometimes called a cheese plate, is small enough to be hidden under the stand only takes up about an inch of thickness between the ceiling and the projector. I used a male to male 1/4" screw to attach the two together. You can buy these at your local camera shop or on Amazon. They are super cheap and get the job done for a clean install. Notes: do not get a plastic plate, use a steel one or aluminum, use a stainless steel screw and blue thread lock to keep it from wiggling loose. The projector has it's own streaming platform or operating system called VIDAA. It works perfectly, so no need for additional sticks or wires unless you have it hooked up to a dedicated surround system, which I do. I havent tinkered with the OS to see if it can be unlocked for sideliading, but I will attempt that one day. I cant say anything regarding the internal audio bc, again, I have a surround setup. The projector is ready for 4k, HDR10, HDR+, Dolby Vison and more. On the very first day of use, I noticed my eyes sometimes caught the rainbow effect but the next day, they must've gotten used to it because I dont see it anymore. The self adjusting keystone correction is spot on too!! I have it projecting on a 120" screen at about 11.5ft away. The optical zoom doesnt lose any picture resolution and the auto focus was perfect for me. Im using it in the Standard Mode setting, which it was set to out of the box. It's a bit brighter than Filmmaker Mode, but I like that. Speaking of brightness...this thing pushes out every bit of its 1300 lumens, Im sure. I was worried at first that it would be too dim, but not at all! The image has bright whites and deep blacks thanks to the trichroma lasers and a 3dlp chip, or so Im told. I could not be happier. For the relatively small investment, this projector, thru and thru, is AMAZING! I cant believe it can have all these features for less than LED competitors. Thank you, Hisense for putting out a product that gives us more bang for the buck than I could even expect. This is the best buy of the year! Hope this honest review helps someone else to enjoy the M2 Pro like I am. ... show more

  • Thanks Jerry
My friend Jerry told me to buy this. He said it was a solid projector for the money. I must admit that $1000 (or at least at the time of writing this, that’s how much I paid) is not an overly exaggerated amount to spend on a device nowadays, however it’s still a substantial amount of money that one wants to be sure is being appropriately spent, if you get what I’m saying. I always give credit whenever a product is properly packaged and arrives without any visible defects, which on this occasion Amazon and Hisense delivered. This projector comes in its own carrying case of sorts, or storage case if you will. So I was pretty satisfied on that end. The projector itself is very premium looking and feeling. It has a very good amount of weight and I really like the finish and design. I/O is somewhat limiting but all I really need or want personally is hdmi eArc which this has. I never intended to use this with onboard speakers so I never tested that. I have not noticed any issues or lag when moving in and out of apps or menus. The UI is very easy to use and super smooth. Has all the apps I typically use so no issues there. My home network is only 5g and being that my router is at least 40 feet away I’ve had no issues with it not having a solid connection. So WiFi is really good on this. It’s great to have a product that works straight out of the box with a minimal learning curve, and this is definitely that. I have noticed that the fan will occasionally ramp up I’m assuming depending or due to the demand of the content one is watching, the unit however never felt unusually hot to the touch and I never had an instance where I thought the unit might overheat, despite having used the unit for up to 8 hours of continuous use. Now for the picture quality. I will admit I am no expert when it comes to this, I will say I do have a keen eye for what I like and also for what I despise. All in all if I could give this a score outta 10 I’d say this is a solid 7. Now I know this might not make sense, then why the 4 stars you may say? Well for the simple reason I feel like for the price point it doesn’t get much better than this. But more in that in a min. Back to the picture quality, the one thing that really leaves me wanting more is the overall brightness of the unit. If you’re not watching a very very dim room, borderline black out curtains style, then the picture suffers and the true immersion you seek is gone immediately. This projector requires a completely dark room to enjoy to its full potential. Not to mention, you will also need a light rejection screen to get the most out of it. During some scenes on different movies the autofocus really struggles as well I’ve noticed, not super glaring but you will definitely get used to it after a couple days. I will give credit the optical zoom is a major reason I bought this and I’m totally satisfied with it in this unit. The auto keystone is a lifesaver also. Literally everything was so easy to tweak and adjust I was watching movies like 10 minutes after plugging in. All in all I’m really happy with this purchase. Yeah there are some trade offs but they’re all things I can overlook and I would most certainly recommend this product to a friend. Thank you Jerry. ... show more

  • Impressive quality and great value
I have been looking for a TV replacement for a while, and decided to try out this projector. I am super satisfied with how high end this product is for a reasonable price. - The set up was super quick, only taking a couple of minutes before I could start casting videos from my phone. - Compared to other high end projectors, it's super lightweight and portable, even coming with carrying case. I can easily move this from the living room to the backyard or even in my car. This comes at no cost to the quality - The quality is great! The colors really pop and the display is very bright. I've owned cheaper projectors before, and you can really tell the difference with this one. Even the sound from the machine is decent, suitable for a movie night. - The screen size adjustment makes movie and gaming experiences so much more enjoyable. You can enjoy the projector with or without light. When it's dark, it feels indistinguishable from a physical TV. ... show more

  • Great Value!
Here’s a clean review you can paste: Excellent projector for the price. The image quality is great, and the sound is surprisingly strong for such a small projector. The audio is crisp, clear, and has good bass. It turns on quickly, shuts off quickly, and feels like a solid, high-quality piece of equipment. The build quality is impressive, and it seems like it will last a long time. Definitely worth the price and I would recommend it. ... show more

  • So far so good!
I haven't had the M2 Pro for long and haven't put it through a ton of paces, so this is mostly a first-impressions review. But the first impressions are very good across the board! The projector is well-packaged and comes with a hard foam storage/transporation case. The unit is very small and super portable. Setup is easy and intuitive. If you're used to various smart TV interfaces, this won't feel too strange. I've never used any other Hisense products, and this was easy to navigate. The automatic keystoning adjustment worked really well with the portable 80" screen I purchased alongside the projector. Auto focus and other automatic features work well too. It was easy to connect to my Wifi network and access apps like Netflix and Disney Plus through the native interface. It was also easy to connect my iPhone via AirPlay to display the screen through the projector. Clarity, colors, and brightness are impressive for a unit this small. The built-in speaker is nothing to write home about and certainly doesn't compare with a more full audio setup. However, it's perfectly serviceable for what it is. Nobody should have crazy expectations for the built-in speaker in a portable projector. Really looking forward to using this more. Projector tech has come a long way! ... show more
