Just as good as an OLED, the picture is so clear and vibrant, the sound is 4.1.2 Ch Audio, but it's even better connected to a Dolby Atmos/DTS-X theater system.     • Hisense keeps surprising me

I have been a TV nerd for a while, owned flagship models from, Vizio, LG, Samsung, Sony. This is my 2nd time buying hisense, as I was very happy with my U8N. Dare I say I am impressed again. Performance is upgraded, software is more refined, no annoying bugs so far. Gsync works great, CEC switches inputs like magic without hiccups. Not much to ask so far but you would be surprised how many manufactures don't get the simple things right. The one I received has a perfect panel, 0 defects, no dead pixel, no uneven backlighting, screen looks uniform. I don't think you would be disappointed by the picture quality either, deep contrast vibrant colors, and it can get eye searingly bright. After having 5 different WOLEDs I learned my lesson not to buy another, they are fragile I keep getting dead pixels everywhere. with this mini LED TV you never have to worry about burn it , watch it or leave it on in the background to your hearts content. Connectivity wise, you get 3x HDMI 2.1 this year, if you have a more recent modern AV receiver, you could use the EARC port as a switch. If you use a PC, it even has a USB-C input that can take video signal 4K 165 HZ. I know! no one else does this. Got my on sale for 1k, a bit more expensive while on sale than last years model but I still think it's worth it. ... show more

    • Unreliable Hisense Google TV – Constant Factory Resets Required

If I could give this a BIG FAT 0 I WOULD. I purchased this Hisense Google TV in November 2025 and it has been nothing but frustrating. The first time I had an issue with this TV was in April , 5 months after purchase, it got stuck, I couldn't watch anything. Contacted their customer service and I was informed they would send out a technician, I said OK but was travelling in a few days and wanted to make sure they could come before I left. They were not helpful saying tthey didn't know how long it would take. They assigned a case number and they never called before I left on vacation. I did an AI search and fixed the problem by disconnecting the TV so it could reset itself. Really? My TV is not mounted on the wall so I had to pull out my entire entertainment center to unplug it from the wall . Every time I go on vacation for a few weeks and turn it back on, it refuses to work normally. I have to perform a full factory reset just to watch TV — exactly like I had to do this time after a one-month trip. This is not the first time. The TV repeatedly gets stuck, asks for Google passwords it won't accept, and becomes unusable without resetting everything. Hisense support told me it's a "Google software issue" and they aren't responsible unless it's a mechanical hardware problem. That’s ridiculous — I bought a Hisense TV, not separate software. At only 7 months old and still under warranty, this TV should work reliably like every other smart TV in my home. Very disappointed in the poor quality and lack of manufacturer support. Super clear picture and sound is better than my Samsung was, so no additional sound equipment. So one month later and I have not mastered settings but will soon sit down on you tube to set everything. Mean time a really bright colorful screen and software seems to be really good, Remote cast works remarkably better than my old Samsung also. So far I am satisfied for the money this seems like the best deal for a tv in 55-65 range. UPDATE" - After a few months it seems ok but Amazon prime software seems bad and I have to use firestick to watch Prime. There is no uninstall just update but still no go, reset tv and nothing worked. Not sure but power off router and tv for ten minutes and nothing. This TV exceeded my expectations for quality of picture AND sound. Picture is extremely bright, and the sound is the best I've heard from a TV (even so, I installed a good sound bar). I have turned down the brightness twice, as even in a bright room, it pops. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars, is that I can't turn it on with the remote. It worked for a few days, then I spent hours on the phone with their AI "person" trying various fixes, including new batteries, taking out the batteries and reinstalling them, and finally resetting the TV (had to put back all my settings). This worked for a few times, and then the same thing. I finally stumbled on a fix: if I hold down the on button and say Turn on TV, it goes on !! Anyway the TV is wonderful, with a great picture and sound, and it has loads of smart functions and built in apps. Highly recommend, but watch out for the remote on function. ... show more

This is my 2nd Hisense tv. I had the U7 and decided to get a bigger and got the 65” U8. The speaker placement on this style is awesome, we don’t need a soundbar. The picture after tweaking it to our lighting led is amazing. Just as great as a much higher priced tv. I like Ike’s up on YouTube how to get the best quality picture. I have it mounted on our wall and with two people it was a breeze. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great tv at a fraction of the cost of the more expensive brands. ... show more

    • Bright, Smooth Picture That Looks Great for Movies and Gaming

This Hisense U8 has been really nice so far, and it feels like a big upgrade if you care about picture quality. The first thing I noticed was how bright the screen gets. It looks great during the day, even with some light coming into the room, and I did not feel like I had to close every curtain just to see the picture clearly. Colors look really rich without looking too fake, and sports, movies, and games all look sharp. I watched a few darker shows on it too, and the black levels are much better than I expected. It does not have that washed out gray look that some TVs get in dark scenes. The 165Hz panel is a nice bonus, especially if you game. Motion looks smooth, and fast scenes do not feel blurry or messy. I tried it with streaming, regular TV, and gaming, and everything felt quick and clean. The menus are easy enough to get around, and setup was pretty simple. I also like that it has a clean looking stand and does not look cheap sitting on a TV stand. Sound is decent for built in TV speakers, but if you want that full movie sound, you will probably still want a soundbar. Also, like most modern TVs, there are a lot of picture settings, so it may take a little playing around to get it looking exactly how you like. Overall, I am really happy with it. The picture is bright, clear, colorful, and smooth, and it feels like a TV that works well for pretty much everything. Movies look great, sports look great, and gaming feels responsive. The small downsides are pretty normal ones, like reflections in a really bright room and the built in sound not replacing a good speaker setup.
