  • Great Bang for the Buck
Size: 65-Inch
This TV arrived quickly via UPS in good condition. It’s boxer in the rear for the sound system speakers and looks the same in the front with the Hisense logo centered at the bottom this time around. The inputs are recessed from the outer edge, making it difficult to get to them after wall mounting. However, none are facing back this time around. All are facing toward the outer edge. Out of the box, there was the typical Google TV setup followed by one system update (P0205 to P0415) and 2 remote updates. There are only 3 HDMI inputs this time around, but they are ALL 4K/165Hz though. It seems to be running Android 14 (from 12) with a much later build and security patch level. Google TV seems to be about the same or slightly snapper than the U8N. Storage still 20GB (minus system use, formatting, etc.) Within all the TV menus, there are additional settings added, some moved and others re-arranged compared to the U8N. One I like is a speed test within the Network & Internet settings for example. There is a Quick Tab Tools option on the bottom menu that I think is new, etc. With this TV, I’m just connecting gaming consoles via HDMI (Xbox, PlayStation & Switch 2 one day) and an HDTV antenna for one local channel for storm updates. I’m NOT using WIFI, eARC, PC connection, Fire TV Cube, Apple TV, etc. I hope to try the USB-C input on the side at some point as a display input. First impressions of image quality: little to no vignetting in the corners (way less than the U8N); less Blooming thanks to the additional zones and tech; SDR and all HDR looked great to me with little to no setting changes. Gradients look fine for an 8-Bit FRC display. Motion smoothing is great, but I still personally prefer it off. Motion overall seems on par with the U8N: again, with no setting changes. As such, I must note that there are more image settings (especially Intelligent and AI) than the U8N. Console gaming wise, everything is great in every mode (all Xbox and PlayStation resolutions, refresh rates, etc. are fully supported). I still really like the Game Bar just like U8N. This time around there are themes that can be set to automatically change for PC, Xbox, PlayStation and Switch. The 4.1.2 sound is OK. I don’t use soundbars, but I think anyone who does will continue to do so with the TV – or use a surround sound system. I’m still experimenting with the sound settings. I do use the room acoustics setting like on the U8N by using the remote’s mic. More sound options than the U8N and certainly a different sound right out of the box. ... show more

  • An Amazingly Spectacular TV to be had!👍👌
Size: 55-Inch
This a absolutely spectacular TV! I upgraded from the hisense u7g (2021) and this is the best TV I've owned. The picture is amazing, almost oled quality is what a few YouTubers have said. I have never owned an oled cause they are pricey. Speaking of prices this is a great price for what you get. It could easily cost $300 or more for what you get, but hisense treats their customers right and does not price gouge us imo. The sound is way better than previous models but a good quality sound bar with a sub is still better. A few years from now the sound will probably rival good bars out there. I would highly recommend anyone interested in getting one of these to try it, you will are going to like the way it looks I guarantee it...👍 If for some reason not just send it back but let me know cause I would like the discount "like new" price it will be and get it myself!🤣🤣 oh gaming is great Xbox wise at least, wifi is great no issues no lagging, function is great easy to figure out, just a great solid TV for anyone to enjoy! ... show more

  • Hisense U8N Review
Size: 65-Inch
The media could not be loaded. This TV is fantastic! It was super easy for it to pair with my wi-fi and when the set up was complete we watched some local channels for a bit. The picture and sound is crisp, clear, and BRIGHT. Once we started watching our apps, Apple TV+, Netflix, YouTube, and Prime Video, the TV really earned its reputation. Wow! If you’re looking for a good TV at an affordable price this is it. I would definitely buy it again. ... show more

  • Works and looks great with PC
Size: 65-Inch
Application: I bought this to use primarily with my pc for everything: gaming, streaming, internet, Windows apps, etc. This is my first Hisense, all my past HDTVs have been Samsung. I am reviewing this after 3 weeks of experience with it. I should point out I got this dirt cheap, since it had a real discount during Prime day, and I also redeemed all my Prime card points on it. Shipping and Delivery: The expected delivery date was initially expected to be at least a month later, since I assume it was on backorder. A week after ordering, Amazon texted me that delivery was expected the next day, nearly a month earlier than expected. They did not provide a delivery time window, however. I woke up the next morning with a delivery text showing a picture of the tv on my front porch, they delivered it at 6:30 am without any out for delivery advanced notice. NOT GOOD AMAZON! Fortunately I noticed it before someone could steal the tv from my porch. Packaging and assembly: I was actually impressed with the packaging. Hisense makes it easy to remove the tv from the box (rather, remove the box from the tv) with minimal effort, despite it being very well padded and protected. I am also impressed with the stand, it is more heavy and durable than what you might be accustomed to with other tvs. Assembly instructions were easy to follow, even easier if you watch youtube videos of other people who have done it. Remote: No frills, but I like it. Does not have a bunch of unnecessary keys. And it's illuminated which is rare with nowadays. Really the only keys I use on it are power, source, and settings. Everything else I do from my pc. Setup: Initial setup with all the Google crap was more time consuming than I cared for. So many steps which are unskippable for things I did not intend to use. But after that, I connected my pc to it via HDMI and I was surprised how good it looked on the pc before I did any calibration, even better than my previous Samsung tv which looked good. I did do some tweaking within Win11, but very little tweaking was needed with the tv settings. Video: The text in Windows on my pc looks remarkably clear. I had reservations before buying this tv, since it has a BGR subpixel layout instead of RGB, and RGB is supposedly better for pc text. Turns out, that does not really matter. Using the internet and streaming looks wonderful, as do pc games. I use HDR with most all sources (with some additional tweaking with my pc and nVidia settings). Colors are vibrant, blacks are as good as OLED (seriously), and the contrast is excellent. With the tv supporting up to 5000 nits brightness, I had concerns about that. But on my pc the picture brightness looks just right. The tv picture mode I leave mostly on HDR Gaming mode. But Win11 is using only 800 nits which is plenty bright. I did try calibrating with the Win11 HDR calibration tool to use the full 5000, but that was mostly too bright, and strangely that forced my tv into Dolby Vision picture mode with everything. So I went back to the default 800 nits. (Win11 has been having issues with Dolby Vision, just google it.) Audio: Yeah, the tv has speakers on the back (silly concept). I don't use them of course. I use my receiver for the audio. Although I should point out, this tv does support having audio on both the tv speakers and the receiver or soundbar at the same time, which is also a rare feature for a tv. I played around with that a little, but went back to the receiver exclusively. It also supports audio passthrough via eARC or optical. Summary: Overall I am very happy with this tv (or I should say monitor) so far. It has been better than I had expected. Since I use it mostly with my pc, I rarely use the smart features or any of the installed apps on the TV. Running apps on a pc instead of a tv is a much better experience, believe me. And no, I do not use this sitting at a desk. Lol. The tv and pc are in my living room, I use it sitting at least 8 feet away in a sofa chair with wireless devices. The only way to go! ... show more
