“I knew that creating a work chair is one of designs greatest challenges, an intimidating project in every possible way, ” says Swiss designer Yves bear. “There is no place to hide in a chair. Every part serves a structural or tactile purpose. ” bear didn’t have to look far from his adopted home of San Francisco for the inspiration of his sail task chair (2010). The geometry of the Golden gate bridge suspension system can be seen in the airiness of the chairs signature back. Its name reflects the sailboats that pass beneath the famous bridge, and replacing the “I” in “sail” with a “Y” is a nod to the chairs Innovative y-tower structure, which provides ample support. The ventilated elastomer back flexes with your body and permits free air circulation, and the four-setting tilt limiter lets you adjust tension and range to your liking. Low-cost but high-concept, sail took almost three years to create and is cradle to Cradle silver certified for sustainability. Although 90% recyclable, This task chair is no mere throwaway.

While the chair itself is fine, I was disappointed with several aspects of this purchase. First, an assembly service is offered suggesting that assebly is required so I purchased it.     • Kind of Misleading - It doesn't have all the functionalities showed in the video, BE AWARE!
Pros: 1. It does not require assembly - you will get it in one piece. 2. Comfortable and no complaints so far. Cons: 1. It's not the full version of Sayl chair. It doesn't have all the functionalities. For example, you can't adjust the arms. 2. Expensive.

    • Really good chair
I was surprised that this chair had just middling reviews on amazon, because all the professional review sites (wirecutter to name one) mentioned that this chair was the best mid price chair to get. I can understand how some really tall people might not like this chair because the back is not as tall as other chairs. But my wife and I love this chair, and I think its great for anyone below 5'10" or so . The design is cool, but it also provides a lot of back support and encourages you to sit properly with better posture. I wanted the adjustable arm rests, but didnt get it as the differential in pricing was $75 on amazon - but I am actually happy as the arm rests are in the perfect position. The rhythm fabric for the seat is nice, I think most people would prefer it to the crepe fabric. ... show more

    • Fantastic office chair for long days
This chair is amazing! I needed a new office chair now that I’m sitting for 9 hours a day at home. I did a lot of research and this was the one (for ergonomics and design). Some of the negative reviews had me a little worried, but I think this is possibly the most comfortable office chair I’ve ever sat in. It’s adjustable and perfect for my height 5’8”. Arms do not stay in their adjusted position, the part shown in the image was broken entirely which controls the lift, chair will not stay lifted. If I could get some type of support the chair is comfortable but it was poorly packed and arrived broken.

    • Not exactly the same chair as " Video" shows
The chair is ok, my husband just decided to keep it. It is definitely better than using our dinning chair for working at home. However, I am still kind of very disappointed with the Misleading Video they put on product website, becasuse of that ,I end up with receiving an expensive chair without several functions i expected. I guess online commerce is all about the Trust, so I have to give two stars to tell other customers be cautious at what they put on the product description is not true. ... show more
