I do not know why this chair is getting such good reviews because this is the worst chair I've ever sat in. Our company, a major bank, purchased new chairs for everyone in the building and did not bother to tell us we were getting new chairs. The old ones were very comfortable. One day they were just gone and replaced with these awful Herman Miller chairs. They even took the backrest that I had attached to my original chair away with it. However that is irrelevant to this review. The reasons why this chair is so uncomfortable is because of multiple problems. There is no padding for the seating area. When you sit on this chair the seat is not flat, you sort of sink in a little bit (kinda reminds me of those awful foldable chairs with no support you would buy for camping) which makes it very painful for my hips. I brought in a pillow from home to put on the chair and it seems to help a TINY bit but not enough to make my hips not hurt. I cannot adjust the seat depth to go from front to back, I can only make the very front edge roll (or more aptly put - curl) downwards towards the floor, this does not increase comfort as it digs into my calves. The only chairs my company did not replace are in the conference rooms so I had to steal the chair from that location and swap it with the new Herman Miller one at my desk. It is still not as comfortable as my old chair but it's better than this Herman Miller chair. ANY chair would be more comfortable that this Herman Miller chair. No one I know in my company likes these chairs. I do not recommend this chair for anyone, especially somebody who has just had surgery or has orthopedic problems. I can't believe my company spent major $$$ for these non ergonomic chairs - what a waste of money. ... show more

The Mirra 2 provides an even better sacrum (very lower back at the belt line) support than the Aeron or Aeron Remastered chair. It has a built in support in to the back of the chair for that. In fact , the entire back of the chair feels very supportive and firm in a good way. It also has the best lumbar support and lumbar adjustment of any other chair I've found! I have owned the Aeron and Steelcase Leap having been working from home for over a decade now and can tell you that the Mirra 2 is the best office chair I have ever used to date. ... show more

I've had my Herman Miller Mirra 2 chair for over four years and my back has never felt better. The lumbar support feature on the Mirra 2 is by far the most adjustable and supportive I've found amongst the quality task chairs on the market. *I've tried them all! - IMO, the Mirra 2 is far superior to the Aeron chair. Don't be mislead by these negative reviews... Herman Miller is TOPS in my book. ... show more

Add me to the list of users who have been crippled by this abomination of a chair. Offers no support, the lumbar support is more of a balled fist in your back 8hrs a day. I can only assume these are the cheapest "not cheap looking" chairs out there, I can think of no other reason for the short sighted hit to office productivity that buying these chairs for your staff brings. I spend 10 minutes out of every 30 walking around to shake off the back pain these cause, and 1/ a day a week at physical therapy (funded by my employer probably for about the same cost as 100 of these) for the same reason. ... show more

After over a year of use, I began to notice excessive wear on the belt loops on the back of my dress pants. Although it never occurred to me at first, this was caused by the hard plastic in the lower portion of the back of the chair. The 2nd image is taken from the top of the back of the chair looking down. Notice the wear which is occurring on the fabric which covers the hard plastic back.
