The Classic Aeron Chair was designed for Herman Miller by designers Bill Stumpf and Don Chadwick. Almost immediately, it was added to the permanent collection of the New York Museum of Modern Art. This now-iconic chair broke every convention in office chair design when it was introduced. Instead of foam padding, its seat and backrest were made of a breathable woven suspension membrane called Pellicle, which eliminates pressure and heat buildup as you sit. This model also features PostureFit Sacral Support another industry first to keep the seated spine in healthful alignment and combat fatigue. Building on the designers' belief that everyone deserves a great chair, Classic Aeron comes in three sizes small (A), medium (B), and large (C) allowing it to fit a wider range of people than any office chair. I had an Aeron Chair at work, and then I brought it home during the Pandemic. After 17 years (early 2007-late 2023), the seat support broke, but it was actually still functional (and fairly comfortable). Since I was retiring at the end of 2023, I had to return this chair anyway. Knowing how much I loved the Aeron Chair, I pursued this option through Amazon, which is less than half as expensive as a new Aeron Chair purchased through Herman Miller. I knew that the chair was probably refurbished, but it looks and feels as good as a new chair. Keep in mind, that the new chair arrives in a box with some assembly and no written instructions. There are plenty of assembly videos on youtube.com that help guide you through the minimal assembly. If you love the Aeron Chair, I definitely recommend this approach. ... show more

Hello Amazon, I love Herman Miller brand, specifically this Chair, I bought a brand new one directly from the brand and now I took a risk buying this used unit from this seller. This was a gift for me to use in my office. It came in a nice carton box, well protected. After the unboxing, I assembled with the help of the office guy without any issue. I noticed that the armrests were shaking and the pads had some damage. The armrest caught my attention and reported this. The seller sent a new pair of armrest pads. The office guy replaces those, they look beautiful. But the shaking issue was still there, they told me to return it first but to pay for the box and shippi, after they told me that I could replace some internal clips they sent a video. When I was trying to understand that video I noticed paint issues ( check the pictures attached to this review) reported it and the seller sent me some clips and a used spray can. The office guy told me that he couldn’t do that job, I found someone to do it for $200 ( clip replacement and paint job) the seller refused to refund me that money. Today I spent more than 30 minutes with Amazon on the phone to figure out that my only option is to file a claim and wait 7 business days. In conclusion, if you ordered clean the used chair and check everything. If you haven’t ordered please avoid buying a problem instead buy a super nice chair from someone else. ... show more

This chair looks like new. Castors are new. Mesh is in perfect condition. From what I can tell it's basically a brand new chair and I got it for half the price of a new herman miller. Makes home office very doable.

I was surprised by next-day shipping, even though the estimate was a week. The chair arrived without casters, but the support was responsive and they got casters in the mail very quickly (shipped within 2 days). The chair itself is in excellent quality.     • Broke Down & Spent The Bucks, Glad I Did!

After agonizing about spending this much on a office chair, I finally broke down and did it. I work from home and after years of suffering with the latest $100-150 special from the big box store that I'd replace every two years, I just did it and I'm so glad I did. I selected a chair that came directly from Amazon itself. This is not to say anything negative about third party sellers, and I have purchased from many over the years without issue but I just wanted that extra bit of assurance when spending this kind of money. The chair came with the warranty info and I immediately registered it. Glad to have the 12 year safety net in case something goes wrong. The setup was minimal since the chair was assembled and I pulled it straight from the huge box it came in. I think I had to put the back support on which took all of two minutes. It was very refreshing after the usual "put tab A into slot B" nonsense with cheapo chairs. The truth is that I don't notice the chair at all, that might seem weird to say about something that cost over $800 (I got this on one of the rare 15% off sales). However, that is just the point. No more back pain, no more noticing how uncomfortable I am....now I just feel comfortable and can sit at my desk much longer (yes, I know it's not good to sit at your desk too long). I realize everyone can't justify doing this or afford it...it was a stretch for me and the most I've ever spent for any office furniture. However, I have my own business and I am a solopreneur so I have to keep my #1 employee (me) productive and healthy. I say definitely give it a go if you can if you are looking for a chair that you will sit on for long periods of time. So, rather than spending $150 every other year and investing as much or more I recommend just biting the bullet and invest in something in which you'll spend a huge amount of time. When you think something is too good to be true.......... IT IS. Listen to that inner voice and move-on! I own several of these chairs.... I admit I have never bought one that was used / rehab'ed. But this chair is bent, left arm just sags away from you when you sit, the mesh is stretched out, I can feel chair parts hitting by butt when I sit, none of the controls work smoothly and you have to get out of the seat to operate them. Very scratched up. Again I have a few if these chairs and some are years old! None of them come close to being this bad. Forget $700+ this isn't worth $50. Throwing it in the dumpster and ordering a new one. All this purchase did was add $750 to an already expensive chair. ... show more
