  • Completely fixed a dead aeron
I bought an aeron used and the tilt was completely messed up i thought i had bought a dud. It also didnt come with the mechanisms at all. Anyway long story short this has fixed my issues. The chair can now stay lock or if i want i can set it so i can lean. Only tip i have for people is that the forward tilt when changing the mechanism you need to pull the chair backwards to put the new one in flush ... show more

  • Gets the job done, but a couple tips
It wasn’t working at first so let me provide a couple pointers. 1. The replacement gear did not fit my aeron which was built in 2010. You will likely need to reuse yours if it is like mine. Also the other piece on the right for the forward tilt you can most likely reuse, there’s an insistence that your pieces will be “broken” in their tutorial video but that’s highly unlikely. 2. You may have issues with the forward tilt not working, it will likely be stuck in the forward position with the spring extended. What you need to do is reset it to the neutral position, and then tighten the tensioner rod, which you loosened as part of the modification, so that the mechanism works correctly. Once you do that, the forward tilt should allow you to lock in the forward or neutral position without any issues, just make sure you lean back before raising or lowering that lever. There are videos on youtube that show how the mechanism should work for both sides, consider reinstalling the seat but leaving the top cover of the control mechanism off and then test the forward and back limiters to make sure they work correctly. Once you’re satisfied clip on the cover. Bon chance mon ami ! ... show more

  • Can finally recline again!
Evening you need (parts wise) is in the package. Was a little worried the forward tilt limiter cable was too long, but it functions as expected. As others have noted, watch the video in the product image gallery.

  • Not perfect, but good
Kit comes with: 1. lever assembly / pull cable piece 2 Two screen printed control levers 3. Right side plastic cam 4. Left side plastic gear No screws, clips, or springs. Please note, the cam and gear only fit some of the ‘Classic’ Aeron chairs, not all. You may need to reuse your existing parts, depending on the age of the chair. ... show more

  • What a relief
My Aeron did not have the tilt limiter and I was using spring tension to try and hold it, but the spring tension seems to be about gone after many years. In reality, the tension is not as important to me as locking the chair back into a specific spot (of my choosing of course) to support my back. Either this kit was going to make my life better or I would be shopping for another chair. This kit DID work and if you follow the video instructions right on this page the install was fairly easy. For a small investment, I am super happy and so is my back. ... show more

  • Took my Herman Miller Aeron chair to the next level - I now have Tilt lock and forward Tilt!!
With the demand of office chairs soaring and the difficulty of purchasing one quickly from Herman Miller, I decided to start looking for a temporary chair on Craigslist while my new Aeron was being built (8 week estimate). I was fortunate enough to find one locally on Craigslist for $170; however the gas cylinder was tired, it was missing the lumbar support, and it didn't have the tilt lock or forward tilt options. While viewing chair parts, I stumbled across this listing and decided to purchase for $60 hoping that it would add both forward tilt and tilt lock functionality to my chair. Guess what? It did! Fairly simple install and included the cables, paddles, and the gear and tilt lock nylon/plastic pieces that were needed for the installation. The only tools I needed were a 6mm Hex wrench Key, a flat head screw driver, and a Phillips head screwdriver. Total install took 10 minutes and I'm back in business. I now have a fully optioned classic Aeron. On a side note: I was able to purchase the Lumbar support pad and a replacement gas cylinder on Amazon as well. Once everything is said and done, I'll have an out of pocket cost $300 for a fully optioned B sized Aeron that swivels, lifts, and adjust as well as any new/lightly used chair. Definitely worth it! *Disclaimer: Be sure to pop open your chair/tilt mechanism to confirm that your chair is able to take these parts.YouTube is a great resource for this. I would assume that they're all built the same but disabled from the factory for those who don't purchase the extra options, but don't quote me on that!* ... show more

  • Works well!
Works as expected with fairly easy install per the video! Certainly looks and functions like the original parts.

  • Handle doesn’t stay on place.
The adjuster is painfully always going about of place when handleling or using it. It needs more re-design to end that issue. Overall, it has lots of potential.
