These are pretty small, but a perfect size for an individual dessert, side dish, or casserole. We have a favorite casserole with layers of stuff, topped by a good size heap of panko crumbs and Parmesan, so we're really using about 125% capacity. Not maybe large enough for something that's "soupier" and won't stand up for itself, but these are great for certain uses, and the only dishes we could find that weren't TOO big for what we wanted. These are really small! I bought one due to the 4-for-3 promotion so it was free as far as I am concerned. I have used it once so far to make my girlfriend a small appetizer of macaroni and cheese. It came out really nice and was amazingly easy to clean easy despite the encrusted cheese off of one of the sides. It is beautiful looking and my g/f finds it amazingly cute. So I highly recommend buying this if you like really small sides for one person. I am not sure exactly how many ounces this actually fits but I believe it is about 6 oz. I think the best use may be for small experimental baked goods done in a toaster oven (I couldn't imagine heating up an oven for less than at least 6 of these). ... show more

A few years back, my husband surprised me with my first piece of Le Creuset-a 6 3/4 qt dutch oven-and started a time of great fun, delight and experimentation with cooking. Now, I have become a collector of Le Creuset as it is impossible not to fall in love with. I believe that every piece is pure genius, and the the stoneware is no exception. The form is inviting, the handles decorative and extremely functional in that they are hollowed out underneath making them lighter and just the right nestling place for fingertips. These gratins are the perfect size for individual main dishes that come straight out of the oven, to the table, to the sink for super easy clean-up. Plus, they are NOT White, which is important to me and others who love color. They come in a full rainbow of choices, and the inside is a lovely pinkish bisque color. They are truly perfection, and I wouldn't mind getting the smaller ones for desserts too!! I'm single. I do all of my own cooking. This dish makes a great casserole dish for someone who is only making a meal for one. Last night, I made four enchiladas. I had to scrunch them together just a bit to get them to fit, but they turned out awesome. I've also made nachos and quiche using this dish. I've used it in a normal oven as well as a convection oven. The only reason I even purchased this is because there was a sale on Le Creuset cookware. Buying three pieces offered a huge discount, but I only wanted two. So I literally went and found the cheapest item I could find to get the deal, and it turns out that I struck gold here. This has become one of the more commonly used dishes in my kitchen. In fact, the only items that get used more are the pans that I bought with it! ... show more

This dish is so small, it looks way bigger in photos. It is smaller than my hand. Also be careful, the measurements they list is from handle to handle so the actual dish will maybe fit a few grapes in it. I tried to cancel the order (which they give the option to do so) shortly after ordering, days before it shipped and they still shipped it anyway. To return it, they charge you $5.99 to ship it back. I expected more from such a reputable company. Would not purchase from Le Creuset again. Very disappointed to pay $22 for a dish this small. ... show more
