    • Really wanted to love these..but very unstable / inexpensive feel

Really wanted these to work. They look nice, and are reasonably priced for 2 chairs. That said, we had a couple of issues: 1) at least one stool arrived with a lot of scratches on the finish and was very marked up. I actually wondered if it had been returned already and shipped back out. (We didn't unpack the other, as we wanted to test comfort and stability before unwrapping the second one). 2) Lack of sturdiness. I'm 5'9, and ~190 lbs. At the uppermost extension, it felt like being a kid in a high chair. Very "wobbly", and felt like I could easily fall over. My wife was watching the 'adventure' I had getting into the chair at the highest setting, and mentioned that it appeared the support pole was either bending or looked about to bend. Albeit, I had the stool on carpet and am pretty sure this contributed to the lack of sturdiness / wobbly feeling, but that's where I needed them. I did test the stool later on hardwood floors and it felt a "little" more sturdy there, but even my considerably smaller (~110 lb) wife didn't feel entirely stable at the highest extension on carpet OR hardwood. So, I really have to question the rated weight claims. Oh, and good luck taking these back apart if you decide to return. Took us some real effort to get the gas cylinder to detach from the base once it had been assembled. Tried calling the provided support number for help, but was never able to get through. Bummed, as I had hoped these would work and am now in search of something that will be (a lot) more stable and better quality. Regrettably, would only (hesitantly) consider these for firm surfaces (hardwood floor, tile, etc) and for smaller/lighter weight people. ... show more

The bar chairs are same as described. They also wrapped it very careful and I like the wrapping papers. Iโ€™ll keep them for wrapping gifts. Chairs are comfortable and easy to assemble. Didnโ€™t have an issue. Recommend!
