This is a quality knife set! There is a knife for every use and they cut so easily. Aesthetically appealing and also have a nice weight to them.

  • Quality is worth the price
Color: Brown Size: 20-pc
While they are not the cheapest knives, they are some of the best. I used to sell pocket knives. Henckels made a great small knife. I had no idea how good their kitchen cutler was until I tried it. I will never go back to a lesser brand. This is a lifetime purchase.

  • Cuts like warm butter
Color: Brown Size: 20-pc
I was a little nervous looking at the reviews saying there were missing knives or that it looked like the product was second-hand, especially with how much the knives cost, but I'm glad I took the risk. We've only been able to use two of the knives so far (the bread knife and the Santuko knife), and they're both amazing quality. I'm particularly impressed with how well the Santuko knife cuts—we used it to cut up a hard salami and it cut it like warm butter. I've never had such an easy time. We picked this particular set because the handles looked the most ergonomic for the amount of cooking we do. It was an excellent choice and felt great in the hand. The only downside (and it's only a downside if you have limited space in your kitchen) is the size of the block. It's 15" or so in length and forced a reconfiguration of our kitchen to accommodate the size. ... show more

  • Read this before you buy, for the love of God!
Color: Brown Size: 20-pc
What to like? I can honestly just say the name brand. Henkel has ALWAYS been synonymous with top quality knives. But, that's where the happy story ends for me, and likely for you also. I honestly had to give 2 stars because they are very easy to hold/grip (except for when wet). The rest of the rating is simply downright sad. Here are your further details: I bought these knives for about $300 on Amazon, thinking the following: "My old Costco bought knives are getting old, and I need a good set to rely on for decades to come..." Enter the image I provided. I want you all to guess, just for a few seconds, which one is Henkel brand and which one I bought at Costco in my attached image. Enough time? Great, here's the real deal. The one pictured to the right is Henkel. I bought these VERY recently and have washed this Santoku knife ONE time. You know what I used? A bottle brush. Not one of those "I'm going to scrape the surface off the earth" scouring pads, no. A bottle brush. Same I've washed with the Costco knives for 10+ years, and yes, those knives were about $60 and the Santoku knife to the LEFT is the Costco knive after a little over 10 years. For that time frame, I used not only the bottle brush but also those scrubber scouring pads (yellow on the bottom for softer materials and green on the top). I frequently had to use the green portion (the abrasive portion) of those scrubbers on the Costco knives when washing. Not even joking if it came to the James Webb telescope distance from our planet. I washed the Henkel's ONE time with the bottle brush, and ONLY the bottle brush, because it's NON-ABRASIVE and I did NOT use the dishwasher. And guess what happened? EXACTLY what you see in the picture. The right side is the Henkel knife. Scratched to a RIDICULOUS amount. $300 spent and the quality is LESS than the Costco knives which I spent a little less than $60 on over 10 years ago. THAT is saying something. Whatever they're selling is the name brand, NOT the quality of the knives... Because if I hadn't paid so much for these and if returning wasn't so annoyingly complex (considering all of the individual packing I'd thrown away), I'd have returned these immediately, because for the price they're essentially the Boeing of the kitchen -- just waiting to fail you literally at any second, and nothing even remotely close to the quality that you were expecting. The sharpness? EVEN with the self-sharpening block? Have to say -- I've sharpened the Costco knives literally twice (not even joking, because we're lazy when it comes to this) the ENTIRE time we've owned those. You know what's sharper? THE COSTCO KNIVES FROM 10+ YEARS AGO, even with the Henkel's RIGHT out of the box. So here's my assumption: Henkel used it's reputation over the years as being some of the best in knives in the business (same as Boeing in aviation) - some of the top of the line knives if you don't want to spend $1000+ on knives - and outsourced it's quality to a garbage manufacturer (that's the most polite I am comfortable writing here) all in the name of shrinking cost (I'm guessing). In summary, I WOULD NOT recommend these knives to ANYONE, even if they're cutting TOMATOES with the bread knife for example... STILL worse off than my $60 Costco knives around 10 years ago. That said, based on my experience with these garbage knives and knowing the quality that should come from Henkel, I would NOT recommend these to ANYONE thinking they are getting quality kitchen knives, because these knives are essentially garbage dollar store knives with the PRICE of quality knives which should last you at least 25 years or more (if you care for them properly, which we do in this house). So - based on my experience - and based on other's experiences on these knives - UNLESS they are CLEARLY manufactured in GERMANY, you are getting garbage knives for your money. I'm hoping the German produced are better, but that's based on the reviews of those being higher (generally). But the ones we got -- I'm sorry, but if I were a seller, I wouldn't even sell these at a dollar store. Period. ... show more
