The media could not be loaded. We used the Dekor plastic diaper pail before this and absolutely hated it. Flimsy, bags always caught and tore on the mechanism, plastic also absorbs odors. Ordered this and it’s night and day. I love that we can use regular trash bags and it fits A LOT of diapers with zero smell. The lid is high quality and has a nice seal on it. I also like that the opening slides back and it can be locked. We received ours well packaged and it seems pretty durable to me. I’ve seen some reviews of people saying they’re not sturdy but who is kicking around their diaper pails?! This is all around great value, easy to use, and works great. UPDATE: After almost 3 months of use (my kiddo is now eating solids so her diapers are stinkier) this pail is still working great! Of course when you open it, it’s going to smell. When it’s closed though, it’s fine. I also have a habit of opening the windows every morning and keeping an air purifier near the diaper pail. This stainless steel diaper pail is even better than I expected! I have several cats and two litterboxes and I'm constantly scooping. As soon as I scoop and put it in the pail and close the lid, the odor is immediately gone. I don't have to make constant trips to the garbage can outside now. I picked this diaper pail because you can use any size plastic bag. And although I ordered white, I really liked the wide selection of colors and designs. I wish I had gotten one of these years ago. The media could not be loaded. A diaper pail was an item that many people told me wouldn’t be something I needed. Let me tell you, it is! My only regret is waiting a month after my baby was born to purchase it. I went with this particular one because you can use any trash bag and don’t have to purchase a special one. I recommend this product because it’s sturdy, convenient and it locks in the smell of diapers very well. I like the fact that you can lock it. My only complaint is that sometimes it can be a little hard to open but I’m assuming that’s for a reason. Great product and simple to use. No need for special bags, just a standard trash bag works. We'll toss a couple extra in the bottom to make changing it a breeze. While it does lock in the stink, you still have to open the lid to put the next diaper in and the stink will rush out at you! There isn't a sliding door inside like the other brands that prevent this. Good thing it's rather small so the diapers don't stack up too long. But when the oder does come out it tends to linger, so beware. As our favorite TV program says, quick like a bunny, quick quick quick! It has an easy locking function so when my curious toddler wonders over to it he can't open it and toss his poop around.... he's been close! Now I always lock it when we're in the nursery. No goodie bag sensory play today! All that being said, we own 2 now. It's worth it not to buy one more specialty item with more useless plastic waste. ... show more

We had a diaper genie for our first and I hated it. It smelled so bad and I didn’t like having to buy bags, even though we just got the off brand Amazon ones. It also stopped closing and the plastic parts didn’t line up right. The Ubbi has been much better. We use it for two kids (2.5 yo and 4 months) and I probably change it every 4 days. It doesn’t smell too bad, although I moved it to our laundry room instead of keeping it in the kids room. It holds a decent amount and even if it does smell, I just leave it open for a couple hours and it seems to go away.
