I received and have put it together bit missing part P8 from the parts list I have one. Can I have one mailed to me other than that I like it. The piece that is missing is in 2nd photo should have had 2 of these and only had one.

    • Poor material on essential gears
Saw the number of negative reviews but decided to take a chance. Everything was good except for the gears which are needed to lift and drop the arms which your car door would rest on. The very poor quality of the gears led to the gears breaking on first use whilst trying to raise the level of the door in relation to the actual hinges you need to mount to. Its unfortunate that the material used for this essential function was overlooked. 2 stars because even though the gears started breaking, I was able to get my door properly aligned and mounted because of it. (I jacked the hoist up above the mounting points on my car before putting the door on it so that I'd only need to lower the door incrementally). I may take the advice of another reviewer and weld a nut on the top to use with with an air powered drill as a test before I just scrap it. If your door or whatever you're trying to lift up and down is under 70 lbs (don't know what this would apply to), you may be good. Others like myself who have far heavier doors to hoist, I'd recommend you should stay away. ... show more

THE GEAR SET FAILED ON THE 2ND DOOR WE TRIED TO REMOVE. WE ACTUALY TOOK THE TIME TO DISASSEMBLE (BEFORE USING" AND CLEAN & LUBE THE MAIN THREADED ROD, & "DE BUR" ALL KNOBS.! YES THE 2ND DOOR. I TOOK IT APART & WELDED A 1/2 " NUT ON TOP OF THE GEAR TO USE A 3/4 INCH HAND OR POWER TOOL..

The gears did not match up and kept skipping almost leading to breaking the gear. I placed an automotive shim behind the gear and it worked better.
