Liked the quality of and thickness of the product I hope it will hold up well in the Arizona sun. The fit was exact to my old roof vent. The hing rail shape was not compatible with my old frame but I simply drilled out the rivets on my old one and reused the rail. The pre drilled holes worked perfectly. I placed the rivets from the inside so the flush portion would be inside, this made for a better fit. Would be nice if it came with a new gasket for the hatch to make it a complete kit. ... show more

I finally got around to installing these and was rather disappointed. They are not assembled, though it comes worry all the parts you will need a rivit gun to put them together. They assembled fairly easily, 6 rivets through pre-drilled holes. 4 rivets for the hinge and two for the lift arm bracket. That was slightly disappointing, though now that look through the pics one shows it in pieces all of the others indicate it is assembled. I did not remove a star for that even though it's not clear that you have to assemble. Where the real disappointment lies is in the fit. The hinge attached via an interlocking coil. One coil in the lid and the other attached to the camper. You just align the coils and slide threw lid coil into the other and bend a tab on each end to prevent it from sliding out. Well the coil on the lid was not bent correctly which allowed the lid to detach from the camper. I had to use a pair of pliers to tighten the hinge to allow it to hold onto the other piece. After i was confident that the hinge was secured, I assuage the lift arm and closed it. It suffered from a serious under bite. The lid did not close/seal as it was misaligned. I had to bend the hinge so the cover would actually close all the way and I can still see daylight coming in through corners on the hinge side. If daylight will come through, so will water and that happens to be the front, or direction of travel, so driving down the road in the rain, I am all but certain that this will leak. I am considering buying some EMSeal, which is an impregnated expanding/compressible foam, a glorified weather seal except it is waterproof when compressed and it is very soft so I believe it will seal the lid without deformation. Either way, I do not recommend these vent covers unless you're willing to put in work to get them to work. For me it's just not worth the savings. Having to buy the Emseal will eat all is the savings and then some, not to mention the time and hassle involved. ... show more
