I was surprised that the entire thing was made out of metal and very solid. The ball has some slight ridges on it to help prevent it from slipping within the mount, and it works perfectly. Magnets are strong and holds on well to my Magsafe phone case.

This attachment features a 1-inch ball, ensuring a precise fit with my existing setup. It is important to note that the product is only supplied with the MagSafe component; other attachments are not included. My SUV is equipped with a RAM mount, and the 1-inch ball attachment proved to be an effective solution. The magnet’s strength is remarkable, securely attaching my phone to the mount. However, it is worth mentioning that this attachment does not support MagSafe wireless charging, which is a valuable feature that is not included in the product.

I got this to add a MagSafe-style phone mount to my existing RAM B-size arm setup. It works really well for that purpose. The 1-inch ball fits standard B-size double-socket arms perfectly. It seats firmly in the RAM-style arm and tightens down securely. I haven't had any problems with the ball rotating once I tighten everything. The ball's texture gives the arm some grip, making it feel secure as you adjust the angle. On the phone side, the magnet is strong with a MagSafe-compatible iPhone or a case that has a proper MagSafe ring. It snaps into place with a satisfying pull and stays put when driving over bumps and rough roads. I can rotate between portrait and landscape with one hand, and it holds its position. With very thick or non-MagSafe cases, the hold is weaker, so consider using a metal ring or a thinner case if that’s what you have. The base plate feels sturdy. The metal is solid, the finish is clean, and it doesn’t feel like a flimsy accessory. You can pair this mount with a suction cup, dash, or rail RAM base without worrying that the phone side will be the weak point. Daily use has been simple. Once you set up the RAM base and arm, it becomes a quick-attach and quick-release docking point. I don't have to mess with spring clips or side clamps. Just bring the phone close, and the magnet does the rest. This makes it especially handy in vehicles where you get in and out often. A couple of things to remember. The magnetic strength works best with a bare MagSafe phone or a slim MagSafe case. Very thick, padded, or wallet-style cases will make it feel less secure. Also, this is just the magnetic base with the ball. You still need a compatible B-size arm and base mount if you don't already have a RAM-style system. Overall, this is a solid, heavy-duty magnetic phone holder base that fits well with RAM B-size mounts. If you want a straightforward MagSafe-style mount that can handle everyday driving and work well with existing RAM hardware, this is a well-made option that offers good value.

This magnetic phone holder is very heavy duty, and the magnet it's very strong. It was very easy to install in my car mouth that I already had but where the phone had to be placed inside. So I converted it into a magnet holder instead. I really like having phone holders in the car because it prevents the phone from falling on the ground when getting out of the car and placing it on our lap. I think this heavy duty mount is worth the value.
