I cannot say enough good things about this! I am so pleased! I got it when it was on sale about 10-20% off and the price alone normally is a good price for this heater! I was surprised by 21 baby chicks and 7 ducklings within the span of a week. I was able to quickly buy two of them, they came the next day, easy to put together, easy to clean, even in the hottest setting I can touch it and it feels warm to the touch. the babies don’t spend too much time huddling under it because it’s warm enough to spread, I’ve even turned it down to the lowest setting already! I can’t believe how simple and easy these are! Everyone should have one. Well done. I’ve been using them for three weeks now and I have zero complaints!

Just what my ducklings needed

Is the perfect size for my 6 ducklings. Assembly wasn’t too difficult and seems to be of good quality. The different heat settings are nice. My ducklings seem to love it without them getting too hot or uncomfortable. This is inside but I don’t have any safety concerns with the heater plate due to its construction.

I had two day old goslings shipped to me and sadly one of them showed up severely not well. She ended up sadly passing away while we tried everything to make her better. The other gosling was so sad when we removed the others little body. She cried all night. Looked all night for a good heat plate. This item has made her so much more comfortable and happy. She's finally fully sleeping, not crying off and on, eating. 100% worth the buy. Easy to set up, no overheating as of night one of use, not super hot to the touch either. The feathers is what sold me and definitely can tell it's helping her feel more comfortable. Makes my heart happy❤️❤️

Works as intended.

Used for baby ducklings. Heated very well. The feather strip was a nice touch, the ducklings seemed to like it. Because the top is flat, the babies liked sitting on it, but that made a mess. Would be perfect if the top was rounded so chick or ducklings couldn't stand on it. The only other improvement would be adjustable knobs that would click into place instead of the turning knobs, which slip under heavy weight. I love the color as well as the ability to clean and sanitize the unit. Looking forward to putting baby chicks under it.

This works perfectly for my baby chicks! I wanted to avoid a heat lamp due to fire hazard and this is a perfect replacement option to still keep the chicks warm without risk of fire or burning the chicks. You can also adjust the height as your chicks grow which is amazing! Large enough for 6-10 chicks to fit under at a time.

Dangerously error-prone and will NOT work for button quail
I wanted to like this brooder, but it has some pretty serious negative aspects to the way it's designed 1. The brooder plate gets hot on one side and not the other. It is very easy to accidentally assemble it upside-down. If you do that, the area under will not get hot, only the top will get hot. You can avoid this if you read the manual carefully, but it is very easy to mess this up. If you accidentally install the plate upside-down, the back flap still attaches and everything still will fit together, so you will not notice that it's assembled upside-down. A good design would make the parts NOT fit together upside-down. 2. The height adjustment does not work. There are silicone rubber washers meant to clamp down the height. They do not have enough friction against the plastic, so it is very easy for the height adjustment to "sag" and the plate can fall lower than you adjusted it to. 3. This is the biggest problem if you have button quail: The lowest height adjustment is 4". This is not low enough for button quail. At the 4" minimum height, the temperature at chick level (about 1" tall) is only around 85F. It needs to be at least 95F. You CAN NOT achieve warm enough temperatures for button quail at this height, it would need to be maybe 1.5" off the ground or maybe even lower. 4. There is an on/off switch on the power cord. This is a BAD feature and should not exist, because it is very easy to accidentally bump this switch and turn the brooder off. If you want the brooder off you can just unplug it, there should not be an on/off switch. 5. It doesn't really get hot enough. Even on the hot side of the plate, it only reaches maybe 105F. This may not be hot enough to provide sufficient heat in the area under it. Taking all of these design flaws into consideration, I can't in good conscience give this brooder a good review. It would be very easy to make a mistake even with chickens and leave your chicks out in the cold.

Perfect for chicks
I recently used a Heating Brooder Plate for Chicks with my newest batch of chicks, and it has been an excellent part of my brooder setup. As someone who raises poultry regularly, having a dependable heat source during those first crucial weeks makes all the difference, and this plate provided consistent warmth without the risks that come with traditional heat lamps. The brooder plate was easy to install and delivered steady, gentle heat that allowed my chicks to regulate their body temperature naturally. They clustered beneath it when they were cold and spread out comfortably when they were warm, which made monitoring their comfort much easier. It created a calm, safe environment that helped reduce stress and encouraged healthy activity. I also appreciated that the plate is simple to clean and maintain. The surface feels sturdy and well made, and it fit nicely into my existing brooder without taking up too much space. It helped my chicks stay warm, healthy, and content, and I would recommend it to other chicken keepers looking for a safe and efficient way to care for young poultry.

Not recommended for older chicks
Loved it for the first couple of weeks. Not so much after that. After the second week my chicks wanted to stand on the top. Which this particular one the top is safe for them to stand on. I have another brooder plate and it gets hot without the cover. I noticed I had a hard time keeping it adjusted to the night I wanted because when they stood on it would fall. Also all the mess from them just being up there instead of down in their absorbent bedding and I cleaned frequently. I ended up switching back to my other plate because I had more control over height and they couldn’t stand on top. I liked better until they could stand on top.
