There are four different modes that are accessed by holding a finger on the device for a couple of seconds until you hear the next mode. Modes: one beep, two beeps, three beeps, and four beeps. The modes quiet background sounds somewhat. You’ll just have to experiment with them to find one that fits your current surroundings. The devices are pretty comfortable for all day wearing. I was concerned about my mother's hearing. She recently started asking us to repeat things and had trouble understanding what we were saying. I got these hearing aids to see if they would help her hear better. These hearing aids were easy to set up and configure. They fit her ears well. She likes how comfortable they are to wear and don't irritate her ears if she wears them for a long time. We have noticed that her hearing has improved since we got these hearing aids.
