We bought ours last year in July. Today is June 17th and is not producing chloride. The previous year we had bought the same and lasted 11 months also. So, for the price is expensive if is only going to last less than a year. I wanted to contact the seller but could not find their email. I feel now that I have to make a $1000 investment every year besides of the other expenses my pool causes me.

I tried 2 after market cells and while the postings indicated they would work with my system, neither cell read the salt level correctly. I had to change my computer to a t-9 setting just to get a salt reading that was close. I finally broke down and spent the extra $$$ to get an OEM cell. It works great and I've had no issues. The instructions were very clear and easy to implement. I would recommend you save your time and spend the extra cash to get a proper cell.

I bought a brand new salt cell 11 months ago, in May of 2025. I had the cell off, and stored inside my house during the winter. After taking the cell, and reinstalling it getting ready to open my pool for the year, I flipped on the breaker, and LOOK OUT… the cell split, and started spewing water everywhere. I have since opened up a warranty claim, and submitted the requested photos, only to be denied. The reason for the denial was that I must have left the salt cell over winter, and freezing water is was cracked the salt cell. I understand that freezing water will crack it, which is exactly why I took it off. But now that HAYWARD is telling me that it’s not a valid warranty claim, I guess the best option is not to spend the premium prices that they command, simply to back up and not honor their very own manufacturer warranty. I was really hoping for a better outcome. I am quite disappointed with this company.

I bought 2 aftermarket cells bout worked just a couple of months. Amazon made the 2nd one a refund after the manufacture did not respond. I gave up and spent the big money for a Hayward. It went right to work. The original Hayward lasted over 5 years.

Great replacement for my T-15 cell. My pool dealer wanted $1950 for same unit. Telling me this was an older unit. Not true. Purchased from a dealer through Hayward, newest T-cell they make. Worked out of the box. Direct replacement with no calibration. Voltage and amperage were nominal after start-up, I did calibrate it anyway and gave me correct salt reading, varified with strips and my salt meter. You can buy a Chinese knock-off but they will not last and generate half the chlorine that a Hayward does. You get what you pay for and pool stores rip you off. Checked prices with several Hayward dealers and they were roughly the same $1077.00. Great buy.

We replaced our old cell with this one, and it’s been working great so far. It installed easily and immediately started generating chlorine without any issues. Our pool water has stayed clean and balanced since putting it in. It’s definitely not cheap, but you’re paying for the genuine Hayward quality—and in our experience, it’s worth it for the performance and longevity. Pros: • Easy install • Works right away • Keeps water clear and balanced • Genuine Hayward part Cons: • Expensive, but expected for OEM • Wish the lifespan were a bit longer for the price If you’ve got a Hayward system and want to keep things simple and reliable, this is a solid replacement.
