great pool filter!
The flow rate on this is amazing. I'm getting ~ 80 gpm with my pump running at 40%.

Best pool filter we ever had.
This is our second season and it’s working great. Would absolutely buy again and recommend. Flows a lot more water, than our old filter, backwashes are thorough and less frequent. Holds prime when pump is turned off. Solved many of our old water problems. No leaks ever!

Cracked control valve (top) after only 16 months
16 months after installation - the top control valve component has a hairline crack I can't see but that has emptied my spa into my utility area. Salt water pool that runs a cleaning cycle at night and an anti-freeze cycle. In Atlanta, it should have been able to withstand the cold. If you buy this, recommend getting as long a warrantee as you can afford. Maybe the company will fix for me - but I doubt it.

So much better
Switched from a DE filter to this one, used filters balls, pool has been crystal clear 24 hours after install for the better part of 4 years now.

Valve is bad
Finally able to take the filter out of the box to hook it up (waited for concrete pad). The valve is broke! No tension and now we have to wait to hear from the seller!! Something that costs this much shouldn’t be that difficult! Not a fun experience by any means! No one has money to just toss around and also a non working filter at that! Hayward has never disappointed us in the past but this is NOT COOL!

Great Filter Lousy Seller
Our old model lasted 8 years before a small crack formed in the neck. This one looks to be much more stout. It took three attempts to get all the parts and still they sent the wrong pipes
