  • Love it!
Style: Tabletop Incubator for Home or School Cl...
When I found one of the breeding pairs breaking their eggs, I bought this and was able hatch the last four eggs in it. Saved those babies' lives.

  • Excellent purchase
Style: Tabletop Incubator for Home or School Cl...
I hatched 8 of my 12 chicken eggs by using this incubator. I didn’t use the turner, as 12 chicken eggs wouldn’t fit on it. I wanted to turn them myself anyway. I am confident that without using the turner I could have fit at least 24 chicken eggs, if not more. (My 12 - some small, some large, some in between - took up approximately half of the incubator without a turner) The 4 eggs that didn’t hatch didn’t appear to have developed at all. I believe they weren’t fertile to begin with, not a failure due to the incubator. I used a separate hygrometer to monitor humidity. I typically had to add water once or twice a day - but I was opening the top 5 times a day to turn the eggs. During lockdown (without opening the top) I only had to add water barely once a day. When I did, I used a dropper and added the water through the vent hole. I just made sure it didn’t get into the mechanics or wiring. The user manual suggests to bring humidity up a lot higher during lockdown than anywhere else would suggest. I split the difference and kept it around 70%. Clean up was simple. It is clear enough to be able to view the eggs hatching without a problem. Adjusting and setting temperatures was simple, although it maintained the appropriate temperature just fine. I am extremely pleased with the price and quality of this product. I am looking forward to hatching turkey eggs next. ... show more

  • Simple, easy to use plus good results
Style: Tabletop Incubator for Home or School Cl...
Love the easy way it works, very simple. Had good results in hatching. The bad part is that I only had room for a limited number. It says it holds 9 chicken eggs but I could only fit 6 large chicken eggs. My chickens lay medium to large eggs and I could only fit 6 in to allow room for the turning mechanism to function. I bought their larger Magically All In One Egg Incubator with LED Candler" model #MF9900 which is supposed to hold 40 eggs. Again, my eggs are medium to large and would only fit 24 in it. I hated the larger one, couldn't ever get it to adjust temperature and humidity - so do not buy #MF9900 or make sure to use immediately upon delivery, so that if it doesn't work, you can return it. So I recommend the "HatchMate Egg Incubator with Automatic Egg Turning and Humidity. Small for a limited amount of eggs and Hatching model HM-912S" worked great. I just don't recommend the larger one because it wouldn't set the temperature or humidity per the instructions and had to return at a loss since I never got my eggs until it was too late to return, couldn't get help from the company and so Amazon gave a partial amount of money back.. ... show more

  • Hatched Chickens and Goslings
Style: Tabletop Incubator for Home or School Cl...
The HatchMate was the first incubator we purchased, and it was really easy to read the directions and start incubating some eggs. Our family successfully hatched 8 chickens last year, and then we successfully hatched 2 goslings. Our entire family had so much fun getting to see the goslings and chickens hatch right before our eyes in the incubator! For the goose eggs, I was able to fit 3 very large eggs in the HatchMate. I had to turn the goose eggs manually, of course, but 2 out of the 3 hatched successfully. it's really cute to watch them hatch and then fluff up after they've dried. A great little incubator for families! Also, the company is really responsive and helpful! ... show more

  • VERY GOOD FIRST TIME INCUBATOR!
Style: Tabletop Incubator for Home or School Cl...
The item was packaged very securely. It had all it's parts, including the easy-to-read instructions. I tested it to see how well it held humidity before I hatched any eggs and it lost nearly no moisture! It doesn't take up a lot of counter space and was quiet. I would definitely like another. I REALLY WISH THEY ALL CAME WITH a separate humidity gauge. I can't remember what it's called but Cassie, from Walker Family Farm showed one when she did a demonstration. ... show more

  • Hard to control humidity
Style: Tabletop Incubator for Home or School Cl...
I hardly ever do reviews but this one is justified in my humble opinion. I am so surprised this incubator has such high reviews. I am now a believer in the mindset that you get what you pay for. I was pleased with the price but I was more convinced by the reviews to make this purchase and now I regret buying it and hope I can return it. I had 9 English Buff Orpington hatching eggs that were candled midway through incubation at around 14 days, and then again on day 18 before lockdown. When I candled on day 18, I had 3-5 viable eggs. They showed lots of veining and I could even see the babies moving around in their egg. I removed the rotating tray (which seemed to be the only plus to this thing as it seemed to consistently rotate the eggs), and the tray it sat on and locked it down for the next three days. I only had 2 pip out of potentially five. One chick made it out of its egg and the other that had pipped was breathing when I noticed the one had hatched. So I left it to nature for the 2nd one to hatch since it was still breathing and seemed fine. I came back an hour later and it had stopped breathing. I waited one more hour just in case and nothing. I took the egg out and slowly started taking the shell off, careful to watch for any blood, which I didn't see any of. Once I got the egg off of the baby, it had fully formed, and fully injested it's yolk. Fast forward to about 36 hours later. The chick that hatched, was STILL damp! There was nothing I could do to get the humidity to come down enough and I'm convinced that the lack of consistency and ability to control humidity is why my littles didn't make it. I believe they drowned because it was so high. I hope this company is willing to refund my money on this but I would not recommend this product at all. I do understand that hatch rates can vary but with the viability of eggs in the incubator and a second one even pipping nicely, I am very disappointed in this product. I had to go buy some chicks of a breed I don't want just so the one little chick that did make it, wasn't alone. I also opted to go buy the Harris Farms Nurture Right 360 to try with my next round of eggs. ... show more
