My mom had an old school fan which stopped working and it took over a year to find a fan she liked. I installed this fan over a week now and I love it. I love it so much I am about to purchase a 2nd one for my apt. It’s silent, the breeze is lovely and the light which comes with is super bright. When purchasing I didn’t realize one of the feature is that the light can be dimmed. The instructions which came with the fan was super easy to follow and with the help of my mother I was able to install in less than an hour. The fan has a built in bulb which is not removable. Update: 2021 Finally purchased a 2nd one but this time purchased it from Amazon Warehouse for $96.00. Great price point and installing was a breeze just like the first one. There was an update to the remote which I like better than the first one. The first fan is still going strong and the breeze given is strong and cool. Highly recommend if you are looking for something stylish, functional and quiet. Update 2022 Purchased a 3rd one because it just makes sense. it’s quiet, esthetically pleasing and great value for the money. ... show more

This replaced a hanging light fixture in our dining area next to the kitchen. We are going for that Vintage Diner look and didn't want anything hanging in our way. The stainless finish looks great with our appliances and really opens up what is very limited space. There is some assembly required. At times it can be a little tricky to get pieces going the right direction, but if you take your time it really goes together pretty easy. I assembled and installed this myself in about an hour and a half, but I am familiar with this type of install. An amateur handy person can easily hang this fan, but if you are unfamiliar I would opt for professional installation. The finish is near perfect and the blades have a deeper angle so it moves air really well for it's size. The flush mount is really wide, therefore the fan is VERY STURDY. The blades slide through the body and attach inside as well. There is NO wobble to this fan whatsoever. It is very quiet and the remote control works perfectly. The only drawback to this fan is the light. We replaced a three arm incandescent fixture and this is not nearly as bright. We have another light and some windows near by so it is no problem for us. If you are replacing the main light source for a space any lager than 8x8 or have very tall ceilings, this may not be bright enough for your needs. Overall this fan is way better than I expected. ***UPDATE*** I just found out if you turn the light on with the remote and then push and HOLD the light button it operates the dimmer function for the light! With the light on high it actually lights up the area much better than before. Really love this fan. I am about to order another... lol ... show more

This fan is so awesome that we got a second one a couple weeks later! It’s modern, sleek, and QUIET! The most important factor to me is quietness. I like to have it on low to sleep, and as it gets darker, every little sound becomes more pronounced. One of the two fans has a little clicking noise on medium and high speeds - I think it’s a balancing issue. Weights are not included but you can tape a small piece of magnet on the blade(s) to balance it out. However, on low speed, it does not click - this is the one that matters because this is the speed we sleep with. The light dims or brightens by holding down the lightbulb button. I was worried about the big and ugly remote everyone was talking about but I guess they changed it. It’s small and cute. The one thing that differentiates this fan from others is the hook they provide that connects the ceiling mount to the motor while you’re trying to wire it. You don’t need a second person to stand there and hold the motor up (see pic). I should say I was a little surprised by the material of the blades. It looks metal but it’s more like painted cardboard. I know the blades have to be light but I was expecting plastic blades. The color matches the motor housing exactly so it’s not a big deal. This fan looks modern and has the features I want. It was helpful to watch an installation video while doing the install. The written instructions were just so so. It does hum mildly while running which I wish it wouldn't do but it is subtle, an almost white noise and has NOT interfered with our sleep. It moves a good amount of air on high and is gentle on low.. If there is a menopausal person sleeping in your house they will appreciate this fan in the bedroom (don't ask me how I know). The LED light is dimmable by holding the light button on the remote down until it reaches the intensity that you want. Reviewers who say the light is too weak may not be aware of this feature. I find the light on high to be reasonably strong, especially for a ceiling fan. I leave it on the lowest setting 99% of the time. I mounted the remote holder to the wooden stand next to "her" side of the bed. I used a thick rubber-band to hold the remote in the holder. Otherwise it was too easy to knock the remote to the floor while trying to operate it in the night (or in the day too). We never take the remote out of the holder but simply operate there, attached to the side of the nightstand; perfect. Time will tell on durability but it has been on (usually low) all night almost every night this summer and now fall. ... show more

I purchased this for our small kitchen. We had a much larger fan that was very attractive, but over time it had developed some failures. This new fan is perfect. If I'm standing right under it, I can hear a steady hum. Otherwise it is silent (and I have excellent hearing). On high the breeze will move papers and scatter light things from the countertop. On low it still effectively moves air for cooling. Medium is, of course, Just Right. The light is dimmable and can be very bright; but we already have ceiling lights so would only use it for specific tasks. Last but not least, and this was a big surprise, the fan was installed by elves while I was sleeping.* I am super pleased with this purchase. *Update: Okay, it turns out it was my husband. But elves <might> have done it if he hadn't. So you could get lucky. ... show more

    • Looks great and pushes lots of air.
I have now bought 2 of these. They have a clean and crisp look and love the silver. My husband put up the 1st one himself 6 months ago and said it wasn't bad. Has a hook within to hang the motor on while you're installing it. I helped him hang the 2nd one. Directions are clear and it took about 1 1/2 hrs. (with breaks). The full speed has a nice white noise but no rattle or noise that keeps you awake. Can't hear anything on other 2 speeds. Light has 3 settings -dim -> bright by holding down light button on remote. Contrary to other reviews I've read- you CAN adjust the remote by pushing toggle switches within the remote to different settings so each remote will only control its own fan (clearly described in directions). Label your remotes and don't lose the remotes as you won't be able to adjust. There is a holder you can install but we did not. I do agree with the complaints of the eggshell yellow color of the remote---yuck, doesn't match anything. I keep it in the basket with my TV remotes in the room. Would definitely recommend this fan. It also has a low profile from the ceiling which I was looking for...may even buy another- price is great and Harbor Breeze is a great make. ... show more

Wow. This fan is beautiful (a bit larger than I anticipated, but all the more effective for that) and SILENT (see video). Due to its size and weight, I had it professionally installed, but in hindsight, it was pretty straight-forward and the electrician had it up and going in very short order. I love the fact that there is no pull cord twirling about; there is a switch to change the direction of rotation, depending on the season; the remote is small, unobtrusive, and easily mounted to my bed’s headboard within easy reach. There are 3 speeds, but the fastest is almost too much for me, so I keep it at the lowest, or occasionally the 2nd, which is plenty for a cool breeze. Lastly, the light is brighter than my old one, which was a pleasant surprise. Bottom line: the sleek, updated (while still a little retro) design is refreshing, and the remote control convenience and silent performance can’t be beat. Highly recommend! ... show more

Tolerated an oversized fan/light combo in my 4th Bedroom/Office. The light kit on that old fan wobbled and squeaked at times requiring an adjustment (moving) the 4-pod light kit. Reached the "Popeye Level" . . . . stood all I could stand and could stand no more . . . . and purchased this fan/light by Harbor Breeze. Ironically, the old fan was also a Harbor Breeze, but this new one is head-and-shoulders above the old. I must say that the installation of this Mazon model is slightly different form other fans I have installed, specifically, you must mount the motor section (that also contains the remote control receiver) to a flat plate secured to the electrical box, being careful to make sure the ceiling "cowling" ring is resting on top of the motor section before attaching it to the ceiling plate. You can't check you wiring by turning on the fan until you attach the light module to the fan motor section because that also houses the electronics for the directional switch. Notwithstanding the forgoing, the fan and light are great!!! It is very quiet and perfect for the size of the room. The ceiling mount provides more clearance in a room with only 8' ceilings. The remote flawlessly operates the fan and the light independently and is very responsive. The instructions are detailed, especially compared to another fan purchased via another site from a different manufacturer, which provided a few sketches on how to install the fan that had a very unique "safety cable" to attach to a "J" hook to be installed in the adjacent ceiling joist. The "J" hook provided was designed for a concrete ceiling. ... show more
