    • Check the battery for plastic wrap.
I’m very pleased with this ceiling fan/light. The instillation was simple. There was one frustrating situation. The battery for the remote was odd, about 1/3 the size of a double A. It was in a plastic bag. What I did not know was that it had a unique plastic wrap around the battery nearly impossible to see. Plus it was then placed in a plastic bag. I failed to remove the plastic wrap around the battery. So my advice is to always check the battery. After that it was great. And I like the fan a lot. ... show more

    • Stopped working after two months
My husband installed this fan in my office, which is about 11x11. It was fairly easy to install and looked good. The fan power is ok. The light is a little dim for the office. If it's dark outside, I have to turn on a desk lamp for additional light. I used this mostly for the light for two months, averaging having it on for about 45 hours a week. After two months, the light wouldn't come on. This was installed using the remote only and is not hooked up to a switch. I assumed the issue was the light which is actually a light kit and not a light bulb. I contacted Amazon and was told that it was too late to return it, but the seller should honor the warranty. Amazon called the manufacturer and was told that I had to work with the seller. I reached out to the seller via email. No response. After four days, Amazon contacted me to make sure the seller had resolved the issue. When I told Amazon they hadn't, Amazon arranged to send me a free replacement. I asked for the light kit only and they said they could only send the whole fan. The replacement came and my husband replaced the light kit which didn't fix it. He then installed the entire replacement fan and that still didn't fix it. Turns out it was the remote to the first fan. It still worked the fan but not the light. So, it's a good thing they sent me the entire fan. I've shipped the defective replacement fan back and I'm now waiting to see if this fan also stops working after two months. As I mentioned, the light is a light kit. They don't sell replacements for it. Others might work but they're not a real replacement for this light kit. I'm not sure how long the light will last, but right now there's no replacement for when it burns out. I do not recommend this item. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This replaced a hanging light fixture in our dining area next to the kitchen. We are going for that Vintage Diner look and didn't want anything hanging in our way. The stainless finish looks great with our appliances and really opens up what is very limited space. There is some assembly required. At times it can be a little tricky to get pieces going the right direction, but if you take your time it really goes together pretty easy. I assembled and installed this myself in about an hour and a half, but I am familiar with this type of install. An amateur handy person can easily hang this fan, but if you are unfamiliar I would opt for professional installation. The finish is near perfect and the blades have a deeper angle so it moves air really well for it's size. The flush mount is really wide, therefore the fan is VERY STURDY. The blades slide through the body and attach inside as well. There is NO wobble to this fan whatsoever. It is very quiet and the remote control works perfectly. The only drawback to this fan is the light. We replaced a three arm incandescent fixture and this is not nearly as bright. We have another light and some windows near by so it is no problem for us. If you are replacing the main light source for a space any lager than 8x8 or have very tall ceilings, this may not be bright enough for your needs. Overall this fan is way better than I expected. ***UPDATE*** I just found out if you turn the light on with the remote and then push and HOLD the light button it operates the dimmer function for the light! With the light on high it actually lights up the area much better than before. Really love this fan. I am about to order another... lol ... show more
