At first I thought it was too loose, and as some have suggested I bent some of the prongs so that it was snug against the sides of the portafilter. When I tried to remove the funnel it got snagged on the rim of the filter basket and it popped out with the funnel. I bent the prongs back the way it came, so the funnel could slide easily on and off again. Then I noticed the tabs on the portafilter have one end that is thicker than the other. With the funnel attached to the portafilter I bent the prongs *upwards* a few millimeters, to narrow the slot where the portafilter tabs slide into the grooves of the funnel. Now the funnel is loose enough to rotate easily , and has a slight “click and lock” feel to it when the prongs move past the thick end of the portafilter tabs. This makes sure the funnel won’t slide off accidentally. The funnel operates the grinder switch without any problem. And as some say, if you don’t hold the portafilter in place it might vibrate a bit but with the prong modification it won’t fall off. For almost zero grinds in the drip tray, this was money well spent. I recommend this product and expect it to last longer than the machine. ... show more

Excellent quality works with breville portafilter. No more coffee grind spills. Quality finish, a bit loose it think it by design for easy usage, I don’t have any issue using it. Highly recommend

    • A must have for any Breville espresso machine
This funnel is essentially mandatory if you own a Breville espresso maker with a built in grinder, unless you want to be cleaning up coffee grounds constantly. It fits on the portafilter and contains all the grounds. It goes on easily, but not super tightly, which seems fine for my use. It has never moved or shifted during use, so any complaints about fit are completely unwarranted. It is made from the same type of material as the Breville portafilters and matches perfectly - it is sturdy and well made. Here is my routine using this great tool: I twist this funnel onto my pre-warmed portafilter, then grind into it, and use my wdt tool to break up clumps and distribute the grounds. I then use the Breville tamper to lightly tamp the coffee to about the top of the filter basket. I then twist off this funnel and do a final tamp, then pull the shot. I almost never even have to wipe off the funnel, and never get any grounds anywhere but in the basket. I can’t recommend this product enough. I hate messes, and this prevents any need for extra cleaning. Just get it. This one. Now. You won’t regret it. ... show more

    • Reduces mess from coffee grounds during grinding
This is one of those accessories that seems unnecessary until you have it, and then you don't know why you waited. My Barista Express really throws coffee grounds when grinding with just the portafilter in place. This funnel attaches to the top of the portafilter for use during grinding. It catches nearly all of the coffee coming from the grinder so it ends up in the portafilter instead of the counter or drip tray. This is my second dosing funnel. My first one was made of plastic and eventually broke through daily use. This one is stainless steel, so will be much more durable. The only criticism I have is that the fit is very loose. You can gently press in on the ears to improve the fit, but it could have been built to a tighter tolerance like the plastic one was. ... show more

This is a well made product - stainless steel matches the portafilter that came with my Breville. It keeps the coffee grounds in the funnel so you do not have a mess! The one concern I had before buying the funnel was if it would fit tightly on the portalfilter: It fits nicely, but not tightly - and now that I have it I realize that you do not WANT it to fit tightly. I use multiple portafilters so I move the funnel around - if it fit tightly, it would scratch the metal on the portafilters every time I put it on/took it off. Only one minor downside I have noticed is that it does not fit my standalone Breville grinder very well. You will need to manually start the grind sequence as opposed to just pushing the portafilter in against the start button. ... show more

    • IT WORKS PERFRECTLY
So... after getting tired of constantly cleaning up my Breville Barista Touch after each use and losing lots and lots of quality coffee grinds, I searched for a solution. I quickly found many options including this one being the most expensive; however, this was the only one that kept the same metallic look as the Breville portafiller. By the way, the other brands were half the price. Anyways, this provided immediate results! ZERO grinds lots when grinding your beans and absolutely ZERO CLEAN UP!!! Furthermore, you can easily tamp the grinds with the funnel on. Some people complain that it has a loose fit, which it does but if it were a snug fit, then I can almost guarantee that you'll have grinds everywhere. I bought it with this in mind and I would have returned if it was an issue but it's perfect. THANK U for making this funnel. This Funnel is of high quality, saves me time and money.
