I have had one for 20 years that's been falling apart and have been looking to replace it. seems like such a simple feature but none of the others ever have it. so many mixes etc say blend for 2 min or 30 sec and you get distracted. but it's so convenient to be able to look down and see. so far I'm thrilled and love the light blue color.

I was so excited about this mixer! We've gone through a few of them over the years, and the features of this one (other than the color) were very appealing to me. We have other types of food processing tools, but I have always like hand mixers for certain things. For example, in a well-known national chain, the only 9-speed mixer I found has almost half the power and cost nearly twice as much. It did have a nice color, but I am hoping this one grows on me =) When plugged in the display comes on to "0." You can't mix with a speed of 0, so pressing Play then does nothing; you have to select at least a speed of 1 to mix. I like that you can choose the speed you want to start at before pressing Play/Pause to start mixing. In the past I've had to start the mixers and then choose the speed. Once you choose a speed and press Play (I like to start out low so that it doesn't spray what I'm mixing everywhere) the counter starts counting up from 0:00. If you press Play/Pause again, mixing pauses as does the timer. Pressing it again resumes both the mixing and the timer. If you long press Play/Pause, while paused (nothing happens if you long press while mixing) the timer and speed both reset to to 0:00 and 0, respectively. If you want to mix something longer than 5 minutes you'll have to start the counter over at 0:00 and go from there; however, the instructions suggest you wait for it to cool down before using more than 5 minutes. You can also stop mixing by lowering the speed to 0, when the timer will also reset to 0:00. The T/S button switches between the Timer and the mixer's Speed. If you press it while mixing it switches between the two and timer continues keeping time. This is a pretty powerful mixer! I mixed cookie dough with the flat beaters and didn't have to go above Speed 1. It wasn't a super thick cookie dough, but I don't think I've ever been able to do cookie dough with a hand mixer before. Regarding the button that ejects the beaters, the instructions say it "can not be pressed until the machine stops working and back to 0 speed." This is not true. Then it says "Please do not press ejector when working." This IS true. Had the spinning dough hooks ejected any more forcefully when I pressed the Eject button, I'd have had to get a different laptop to do this review =) There is a 3-year warranty, and contact information is given at the end of the instructions. I like the mixer, the power, the features, and how everything fits in the handy stand. Even with its color I am thrilled with the value. One other thing I would change is that the cord isn't "short," but I'd sure like an extra foot on it.

This 400 watt handheld electric mixer with 6 stainless steel accessories and 9 speeds does have a couple of unusual features, but, in the end it's just another handheld electric mixer. What I look for in a handheld electric mixer is a powerful motor surrounded by a solid plastic housing. The motor in this handheld electric mixer does not seem to be more powerful than any other handheld mixer that I have used. The power of the motor seems to be about average. The plastic housing on the other hand, seems to be a bit flimsier. One of the unusual features of this electric mixer is that the body is square-shaped as opposed to the usual oval shape. I think that the square shape of the body makes the plastic housing feel flimsy and cheap, I don't think that the plastic itself is any flimsier. I think that some of the squared-off areas in the body of this mixer are hollow inside and those hollow areas make the plastic housing feel flimsy. The square shape of this handheld mixer makes it difficult to grip. I would say that I have a medium size adult hand. The square-shaped handle does not feel as comfortable in my hand as the handles of other mixers that I have used. The stainless steel accessories that are included with this mixer seem to be about an inch longer than usual. I noticed this when I used the mixing blades to make mashed potatoes from real boiled potatoes. I liked the longer mixing blades for that job. The longer mixing blades made me feel like I had more control. I then tried using both of the dough hooks to make keto buns from almond flour, psyllium husks and egg whites. I had to switch back to the regular mixing blades to finish because the dough hooks felt too long. The dough wasn't being mixed very well. Trying to mix a dough was more stressful using this handheld mixer because this mixer will turn itself off after 5 minutes to prevent the motor from overheating. I was worried that the mixer might shut down and I might not be able to finish the batch of dough that I was in the middle of mixing. The handle of this mixer was also getting noticeably warmer the longer that I mixed the dough. This electric mixer with accessories comes with a thin stand for storage. I am rating this 400 watt handheld electric mixer with 6 stainless steel accessories and 9 speeds four stars because it does function as a handheld electric mixer.
