I go to the gun range at least once a week and wanted hearing protection that would last more more than two years.. Sordin Supreme Pro-X LED Ear Defenders appear to be made of high quality materials. The Sordin headphones have four different settings. One for hunting, one for indoor gun range, one for communication (music, phone, etc.) and one for sound amlification for when you're out in the wilderness looking for that perfect buck. I wouldn't consider these headphones to be noise cancelling but they are excellent when I use them at the indoor gun range. When someone speaks to me at the gun range the voice clarity is excellent. The headphones came with the over the ear gel packs and I highly recommend these in lieu of the standard soft plastic ear protectors offered in other Sordin headphones. The gel packs allow the headphones to be worn confortabley for hours (love them). The Sordin headphones also come with an LED light. I don't have much use for the light but its kind of cool to have it. Lets talk about the battery installation. It took me a few minutes to get the first battery installed propery but no big deal. Removing the batteries was a breeze (use a light tap after the top battery has been removed). The on/off button works perfectly. The up and down volume control buttons are also easy to locate and initiate. Press the volume up and down buttons simultaneously to activate/deactivate the LED light. The LED light also turns off automatically after three minutes. The headphones also automatically turn off after four hours (if you accidentally forgot to turn them off). Batteries will need to be replaced after 600 hours of use, if memory serves me right. The only thing I would change in my new headphones is to allow the lowest volume setting to be set even lower. The lowest volume setting is a bit too loud for me (ambient noise not gun fire noise). My headphones came with a black leather strap but I purchased the green camoflage headband which in my opinion makes them look better. As I mentioned, the headphones are not inexpensive so I hope they last longer that my previous other brand headphones. These headphones come with a five year warranty. What great hearing protection. Perfect noise cancelling and comfort. You can easily hear others and range commands with the hearing protection on. But the battery compartment...What were you thinking?????????????? What a total and complete moronic battery compartment on this otherwise perfect noise cancelling hearing protection. Fortunately the batteries don't have to be changed very often. Even the very cheapest of battery powered devices have easier access to their batteries. Even with this I would still recommend this hearing protection to anyone. Just be prepared to shell out some dough. ... show more

I ordered the behind the head set and had terrible time with the batteries. Also found them uncomfortable and felt oddly insecure. Go on YouTube FIRST to learn the battery install trick. Also, use energizers. Supplied batteries are fatter and harder to install. Anyway, the over the head are MUCH more comfortable. LED isn’t very bright but it’s very useful for dredging around in a range bag to find something. If you’re on the fence, get it. Note, despite the advertisements showing a guy clearing a house using the LED, it’s not bright enough to identify a person. On the other hand it would give another person a target to shoot at. Sound is very good, buttons are simple and easy to operate... IF you have your left hand free. Can’t swap sides because the pickup mic’s are on the front. ... show more

    • Very effective electronic hearing protection.
These are outstanding at what they are designed to do - amplify low db and filter high db. They are also very comfortable and easy to wear for long periods of time. One caveat though - the base noise reduction provided by these isn't on-par with the best hearing protection, so if you want/need maximum db reduction, then you may need to go with non-electronic with a higher db reduction rating.     • Check that your item has not been previously opened.
Product was delivered with the bottom of the retail container previously opened. On the top of the container it said something to the effect of, "If hygenic seal is broken do not open". This was obviously circumvented. The inside "display" cardboard was ripped suggesting the item was pulled out prior to packaging. The Sordin Ear Protection itself showed signs of dust in areas that were not readily cleaned. Since the batteries were still in their original plastic wrap, I don't believe the function of the Sordin Ear Protection was evaluated, but other batteries could have been used. The product is amazing! I previously wrote a review here as well as for ACE Industries but they were obviously omitted. If you look up their reviews, Amazon claims responsibility for nearly all the one star review. I have since purchased the same item from a company that actually warrants the product and provides "old fashioned" customer service. The product meets my needs perfectly. The instructions for the 4 hearing profiles require attention to properly initilly operate, but once learned, are effective and make good sense. ... show more

    • Very good top tier hearing protection
I finally stepped up to top tier hearing protection. The Sordin Supreme Pro LED is an excellent unit, extremely comfortable and very easy to use. The LED is actually a neat little feature. These are very nice units however they are expensive. I hope they last forever.

This is a great option to the high end opscore and peltor models as far as price point. I know those will out perform these but for the value these are great for the range. And wayyyyy better then the low end version which are always trash.

I managed to get the second battery into the ridiculous compartment with the aid of a steel rod, but there’s no way I’m ever getting the first battery out again. Yes, it’s a nice product while the batteries last, but this thing’s lifetime isn’t longer than that of a set of AAAs. They even have the nerve to include a sticker about how to cram the first battery into the position you’ll never extract it from. Thanks for nothing, Sweden. ... show more
