  • Well Built and Designed
I was really happy with this hammer-drill. I'm in the middle of installing railing around our front porch that we had replaced with concrete. After using a regular drill motor with masonry bits with limited success I bought the Hammerhead. I was leery because I'm drilling for 5/16-18" anchors that are located 1-1/2" from the edge; pretty close. The risk of knocking out a chunk of the edge was apparent. The hammer action on this drill is just right to not cause collateral damage. It doesn't sound like a jack-hammer but more like a quieter air-tool, to give you an idea. Not very loud. The holes I drilled were 3/8" x 1-3/4" deep. I recommend starting the holes with a four-fluted masonry bit without the hammer action turned on, to get a straighter hole, which can be most difficult in concrete. Then switch to a regular masonry bit with hammer action. It's still a battle for a straight hole but your chances are better. So far I have installed over 20 anchors with this drill. It is well built, sturdy, heavy and has a 2-year warranty. Nice. It is a good unit for my purpose and well within my budget. ... show more

  • 5-Stars for General Use
Now that I've used this hammer drill a few times, I'm pretty confident that the negative reviews posted are from those who don't fully understand how to use a hammer drill. If the user can understand its limitations and its proper use, then this can be a fantastic product. I highly recommend tossing the included drill bits into the garbage. If you want this hammer drill to truly perform, purchase some premium carbide-tip drill bits and don't look back. This is not a heavy-duty industrial-type tool. But if you need a relatively cheap, reliable, basic tool for average household projects, this will work fantastic based on my experience so far. It does the job, no complaints. For the price, this is an easy 5-stars. ... show more

  • For limited use it works fine.
Drill is pretty good for its price. Does not come with a case. It does get hot if using it steady but 3-5 min burst,no issues. The chuck is kind of hard to hold onto while trying to release bit, no lock to stop from rotating while taking bit out. It worked for what I needed but its by no means pro grade. ... show more

  • Really Good Tool .. Great Price
We purchased this for 1 job basically. We were installing a handrail in concrete. Hubby was just going to do project and then sell it to recoup some of his initial purchase cost. He decided to keep it because he was very happy with how it performed! Cost was very reasonable, product performed surprisingly well and hubby is very happy. ... show more

  • Nice Value
Very well made tool for a nice price. Has plenty of power for a wide range of drilling needs. The tool itself was easy to assemble and has good grips for stability.

  • Don't buy this drill
A single star is too much really. I was in need of a hammer drill for a specific task at the house. I figured I'd spend as little as possible since once this little job was complete the drill would sit on a shelf. Anyway, 30 minutes of drilling (maybe 20 holes) and the drill quit. Pull the trigger and the chuck was locked up tight, wouldn't spin. The drill just whined and smoked. Could not even turn the chuck by hand. Ridiculous product, complete waste of time. Don't buy. ... show more

  • Great value
I bought this (and a high speed drill bit) to drill holes in a concrete subfloor to secure a toilet flange. I had previously only used a regular electric drill for drilling concrete and was unfamiliar with hammer drills. So I was very pleased when this drill cut through the concrete like it was butter. I had tried to rent a hammer drill from the big box hardware store but they wanted almost twice the price of this drill to rent it for 4 hours. Was pleasantly surprised that this drill came with metal and masonry drill bits and a tool for cleaning out the drill holes. For the DYI people out there this is a great value for the price! ... show more

  • motor has been smoking and smelling with limited use and not under that much load.
Price was great. Power is ok. Lately though, the motor smokes with very low or limited use. Not sure if it is failing or just not very dependable or made with quality.
