So far, nuts are the only thing I have tried with this - but it worked REALLY Great! I usually use a hand crank chopper, which takes a long time to do when you buy the big bags at BJs. I just chopped a 2 pound bag of walnuts in a few minutes. The cup holds a lot - and the nuts get evenly chopped without getting so fine that they are almost peanut butter consistency. I had a different chopper, that was supposed to be good for nuts, and it didn't chop evenly - this seems to somehow circulate the nuts from the top down to the bottom. I really wanted this to be able to chop harder nuts, like pistachios - but I don't have any right now to try it with. ... show more

    • For $20 what the heck
I've had the chance to use this little wonder a few times and I'm much happier with it than I was with the Cuisinart 1 cup mini-chopper it replaces. The switch mechanism on this one is much simpler, it's easier to hand wash, the blades are very sharp, and it sits nicely on my crowded countertop. I can't find much wrong with it - the blade plastic looks a little rough but seems sturdy enough. For the money Cuisinart wants for the equivalent device, I think this machine dusts it! Edit: Ok so I've had this thing for a week now and I've chopped garlic for ice cube tray freezer storage. About a full pound's worth (.5 kg for the rest of the world). Whipped through that effortlessly and in about 5 minutes! I was pleased! Then, onto the trays of ginger. Here I was a little more concerned because ginger is fibrous and I wasn't sure this thing would be up to the task. Boy was I surprised that it reduced the small chunks into fine mince in very little time. I filled two ice cube tray's worth of ginger in about 5 minutes flat! I just want to say that I'm sorry that several people got poor packaging, damaged, and used (!) choppers from Amazon. This is unacceptable and I would definitely be angry too. Luckily the one they shipped me is was in pristine condition and so far I haven't found any flaws in it whatsoever. I’ve blended up jalapeños, pepperonis, and even cheese slices in this thing and it works great. It’s pretty easy to clean. The only flaw with this is that it’s a little loud and it’s very easy for the blade to fall out into the food when emptying the processor. The blade is large though so it’s unlikely to pose a safety risk such as accidentally leaving it in the food. ... show more

Some Advice: add your food items while the container is on the base (motor) or the blades will loosen up and jump up and not blend well. - It's easy to use and the motor is powerful enough - Pressing the lid down, activates the motor. There is no Off and On switch, which I love. The lid fits over the rim so there is no screwing or tightening and no leaking- The blades are long enough to reach the walls of the container so it blends everything well. This is just the handiest little device you'll ever buy for your kitchen. It doesn't take up much room. Everything except the base and cord can be put in the dishwasher. Push the button on top and let go repeatedly to chop nuts and veggies that you don't want to turn to much. Hold it down continuously for things like mashing bananas. You'll love it! ... show more

This chopper was definitely worth the buy. It’s small enough to not take up a lot of counter space but big enough to get a descent amount of veggies chopped up for dinner or for me I make home made marinades & it does the job beautifully quick & easy.
