  • Perfectly nice toaster Perfectly nice toaster
Color: Stainless Steel
There are a lot of negative reviews on this toaster. I just can’t see spending $60-80 on a toaster (local prices) so I ordered this one regardless of the reviews. After using it for 6 months, I am perfectly happy with its preformance. It doesn’t have the bells and whistles of a high dollar toaster, but all I want is to put two slices of bread in a stainless steel, counter top, attractive toaster and have toast with my eggs in a couple minutes. I don’t need to touch the top so I have no idea and don’t care if it gets hot. I like the wide openings - makes fishing low lying toast easy. This a perfectly functional attractive toaster at a value price. ... show more

  • Good style and function for the price range
Color: Stainless Steel
Update; a year later and I love this toaster. Still looks great and works great. So far so good. Haven't had it more than a few days but it looks nice, works well and is easy to clean. I like the pull out crumb tray and the cancel button. I like the extra wide slots for bagels or homemade bread slices. I like the brushed metal finish. Honestly I was disappointed to find I could not buy a toaster anywhere that is still made in the USA (for under $300!), so if I'm forced to buy a Chinese import I'll settle for this one because of style and low price. Even $50 kitchen aide toasters are still made in China imports, so not worth the extrace money to me. ... show more

  • I got my money's worth, I suppose..
Color: Stainless Steel
I'm from an earlier time when appliances large and small worked for decades, and if something went wrong you paid for it to be repaired (or you fixed it yourself if you were so inclined), and you then got a few more decades of use out of it. It was made in the USA. But it's a different era. Nothing is made to last long, things cost much less and they are usually imported. Good luck finding a person who does repairs. If you happen to find one, they probably won't find the needed parts. I spent $16.99 + tax on April 16th 2018, and it worked like a champ. Then one morning it wouldn't. One day in late December of 2020 it was all over. Still looks great, but it doesn't do anything. Kaput! No more toast. Now it's just another non working throwaway to take up space in the local landfill. Time to shop for a new toaster! It's kind of hard to rate. It only cost me $18.48, and it lasted for right around 2 years and 4 months of light usage by my husband 2-3 times per week or less (I don't eat bread or toast). Seems like a good value, I guess. It was attractive enough or at least it wasn't ugly and didn't draw attention to itself, it was lightweight (I could easily put it back on top of the fridge where it sits when not in use), so just keeping in mind within 2-3 years you may be shopping for another toaster, and if you don't pay too much it'll be fine! ... show more

  • Great Little Toaster
Color: Stainless Steel
I really like this toaster! When I received it I was a little concerned because it seemed a little lightweight so I was worried it was cheap, but it really does its job. The bread slots are nice and wide so I can put in English muffins or bagels with no risk of them getting stuck and the risers come up higher so I never have to dig around to get the bread out. I also really like that it gets the bread toasted every time. It's consistent. My last toaster it seemed like sometimes it was too light and sometimes it was too dark on the same setting, but not this one. Always exactly the same on the same setting. We like setting 3, but that's us, kind of middle of the road. :) ... show more

  • Absolute Crap
Color: Stainless Steel
I assumed that the brand meant that it was a bargain. But I guess you get what you pay for. This toaster works when it feels like it, or with manual assistance. For the most part it will toast the first batch (not always). Good luck with subsequent batches. The handle will not stay down. Sometimes it will, if you press so hard on it that you have to hold the toaster's other side so it won't flip over. Most times, the handle will not stay down, unless you hold it the whole time you need to toast your bread. Don't waste your money on this aggravation. ... show more

  • The up/down mechanism sticks and jerks.
Color: Stainless Steel
I've had this toaster for just over 3 months and the up/down mechanism now sticks and jerks while lowering bread into the slots. The stainless steel is constantly spotty and streaked from being touched, and cannot simply be wiped down with a cloth and water. It won't clean up without stainless steel cleaner. The slots are just not quite long enough for 5.5" width bread slices to fit without a squeeze. Hamilton Beach will not provide a refund on this product. They will only replace it with the same item or one of lesser value. The shipping costs of returning this inadequate product as well receiving said replacement are not covered by Hamilton Beach. I do not recommend this product, nor the Hamilton Beach "warranty." ... show more

  • Works fine.
Color: Stainless Steel
I've noticed that some reviewers go over the intricacies of the consistency of the browning patterns on the bread. I'm not that sophisticated when it come to toasting bread. I was using a hot pan to sort of burn the bread before I got this toaster. I think this toaster works great. I have only had it for a couple months so I can't speak for its longjevity. But it does bagel halves, and browns all of the sandwich slices that I buy. I was miss-informed when I asked a question about this toaster. I asked what its wattage was. The answer that I received was 1500 watts, but it is only an 850 watt unit. It still works fine. I don't see many toasters rated over a 1000 watts. The timer works. If I set it all the way up it will burn the bread, like my old fry-pan method. If I turn all the way down it just warms the bread. It also has a button to stop the toasting if you want. ... show more

  • Great toaster for the price
Color: Stainless Steel
This toaster works really well. It looks really nice and seems to be good quality. You can't beat the price. I was really pleasantly surprised at how nice the toaster was for the price. I needed something small, that I couldn't easily store in the cabinet if needed, but still was able to toast larger food items and this toaster delivers on both. I would absolutely recommend. ... show more
