  • Good style and function for the price range
Color: Stainless Steel
Update; a year later and I love this toaster. Still looks great and works great. So far so good. Haven't had it more than a few days but it looks nice, works well and is easy to clean. I like the pull out crumb tray and the cancel button. I like the extra wide slots for bagels or homemade bread slices. I like the brushed metal finish. Honestly I was disappointed to find I could not buy a toaster anywhere that is still made in the USA (for under $300!), so if I'm forced to buy a Chinese import I'll settle for this one because of style and low price. Even $50 kitchen aide toasters are still made in China imports, so not worth the extrace money to me. ... show more

  • Perfectly nice toaster
Color: Stainless Steel
There are a lot of negative reviews on this toaster. I just can’t see spending $60-80 on a toaster (local prices) so I ordered this one regardless of the reviews. After using it for 6 months, I am perfectly happy with its preformance. It doesn’t have the bells and whistles of a high dollar toaster, but all I want is to put two slices of bread in a stainless steel, counter top, attractive toaster and have toast with my eggs in a couple minutes. I don’t need to touch the top so I have no idea and don’t care if it gets hot. I like the wide openings - makes fishing low lying toast easy. This a perfectly functional attractive toaster at a value price. ... show more

  • I got my money's worth, I suppose..
Color: Stainless Steel
I'm from an earlier time when appliances large and small worked for decades, and if something went wrong you paid for it to be repaired (or you fixed it yourself if you were so inclined), and you then got a few more decades of use out of it. It was made in the USA. But it's a different era. Nothing is made to last long, things cost much less and they are usually imported. Good luck finding a person who does repairs. If you happen to find one, they probably won't find the needed parts. I spent $16.99 + tax on April 16th 2018, and it worked like a champ. Then one morning it wouldn't. One day in late December of 2020 it was all over. Still looks great, but it doesn't do anything. Kaput! No more toast. Now it's just another non working throwaway to take up space in the local landfill. Time to shop for a new toaster! It's kind of hard to rate. It only cost me $18.48, and it lasted for right around 2 years and 4 months of light usage by my husband 2-3 times per week or less (I don't eat bread or toast). Seems like a good value, I guess. It was attractive enough or at least it wasn't ugly and didn't draw attention to itself, it was lightweight (I could easily put it back on top of the fridge where it sits when not in use), so just keeping in mind within 2-3 years you may be shopping for another toaster, and if you don't pay too much it'll be fine! ... show more

  • Great Little Toaster
Color: Stainless Steel
I really like this toaster! When I received it I was a little concerned because it seemed a little lightweight so I was worried it was cheap, but it really does its job. The bread slots are nice and wide so I can put in English muffins or bagels with no risk of them getting stuck and the risers come up higher so I never have to dig around to get the bread out. I also really like that it gets the bread toasted every time. It's consistent. My last toaster it seemed like sometimes it was too light and sometimes it was too dark on the same setting, but not this one. Always exactly the same on the same setting. We like setting 3, but that's us, kind of middle of the road. :) ... show more

  • Best Meh Toaster you can find
Color: Stainless Steel
It is a cheap toaster that will mostly make toast. Gets real hot. Toasts unevenly. Too narrow for a bagel. Too small for my favorite bread. Will not buy another.

  • It makes toast!
Color: Stainless Steel
I was worried about some reviews saying the slots are small. I don't know where you are from and the size of bread you're toasting, but the normal sandwich bread you get in Texas fits just fine. For the price you will be happy. It might not toast completely even, but when do they? The clamping action is very good, does great to hold up my kids' Eggo Waffles in the morning while toasting. Someone else wrote that it is hot to touch after toasting; don't touch it! I recommend this toaster. I would even be a spokesmen for this toaster should Mr. Hamilton Beach need a rep to star in toaster commercials for around 250k a year. ... show more

  • WTF! Sparks, small fire, ruined bagel...
Color: Stainless Steel
I used this toaster exactly 6 times over a 2 week period ( I know this because there were 6 bagels in the bag). On the sixth bagel, a few seconds after pushing the lever down, sparks shot out of the top. Then a small flame erupted out of the back/top. I reached over and unplugged it. I smelled burning plastic... The toaster was dead and my bagel was ruined. I was so frustrated I walked outside and and sat naked in the snow until I could no longer feel how hungry I was. That bagel was the last carb i had in the house... I mean trying to lose some weight, but I don't need some hacked up evil terrorist robot of a toaster telling me what to do with my life. If you're reading this, please don't worry about my well being. The following morning, I drove all the way down the street to Target and bought a different toaster and more bagels, because i'm a millionaire and love spending money on crap. Now I guess ill go return this toaster because I have a ton of free time... oh wait... C'mon Hamilton Beach... ... show more

  • A GREAT $20 TOASTER
Color: Stainless Steel
Listen. This toaster is 20 bucks. Most people I know spend more than that on coffee in a week. It isn't supposed to be anything special. I don't need a toaster than can turn a slice of wonderbread into a french pastry (though that would be awesome and I'd likely buy it at some point). I just want a toaster that evenly heats up some form of breakfast doughy thing. Bagel, muffin, wheat, white, rye, forget about it. I bought this thing so long ago, I forgot what I paid for it. Never cleaned it once. No need to go through the hassle. It's a $20 dollar toaster. This thing works quick, effectively, and it has a a practical amount of settings---One knob that changes your degree of toasting. THATS ALL YOU NEED BABY! For $20 bucks, this is a great, long-lasting bargain toaster. ... show more
