  • Best low cost thermal imager I have used so far!
This thermal imager works so much better and faster than the other 2 that I own. Higher resolution and frame rate. I’m surprised it didn’t cost more. I also love that the interface is simpler, there arnt many options to have to worry about changing like on some imagers. So it’s pretty much always ready to grab, point & measure. The color pallet works very well and is the pallet I usually pick on my other imagers. So no complaints about “missing” options from me. I also really like the pistol grip style of it as it’s much easier to hold/point than the phone style imagers. All in all, This is the imager I would recommend to hobbyists and professionals as it’s cheap enough that hobbyists can justify the price and it tells you enough for it to be useful for professionals without breaking the bank. Today I used it for verifying a customers a/c concern. Customer stated that their a/c wasn’t blowing as cold as they remembered from last year. Instead of waiting for a temperature probe to equalize with the vent temperature over a few minutes, I was able to check the vent temperature within seconds. Their Freon charge was a bit low due to a shader valve leak. After repairing I was able to show them that the air coming out of their vents was much colder than when they brought their vehicle in. Visual evidence of a performance increase helps the customer trust your services! ... show more

  • Buy it.
Color: Green
Great images, simple to use. Can see wall studs on exterior walls. Can see recent footprints on carpet. Inexpensive and useful.

  • Easy to use, good resolution, works well
This self contained thermal camera is a useful tool for observing relative temperatures in an area. The photo shows the temperature of my feet and shows the range of colors for various temperatures. The screen resolution sounds like it would be low, but as you can see in the picture it is actually very clear and distinct. The camera can capture photos to the internal memory and they can then be uploaded to a computer over a USB-C cable. This is a very useful feature that is lacking on some lower cost units. I'm very happy with this thermal camera, it is versatile and works well. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Excellent tool to detect hot and cold spots
Color: Green
This thermal camera is an excellent tool to detect hot or cold spots along the ceiling, walls, windows and doors of your home so that you can better insulate them to save on utility bills. It's also useful for detecting air leaks in the attic HVAC duct work. It has a 2" display, and it can easily be carried and operated with one hand, which is convenient in tight spaces like an attic. Overall, the thermal camera works as expected, although the small display size is cumbersome and the thermal resolution is quite low. 1. It doesn't come with an instruction manual on how to use it. 2. To turn ON the thermal camera, press and hold the power button for 8 seconds. There's no option to reduce the power-on time. 3. To turn OFF the thermal camera, press and release the power button. 4. The thermal camera works out-of-the-box, and you only need to set the display language and date/time. 5. To set up the camera, press the OK button to enter the Menu screen. Then use the UP and DOWN buttons to scroll through the options and press the OK button to select the option. Press the RETURN button to exit the Menu screen. 6. There are 5 thermal imaging modes that can be selected using the UP and DOWN buttons. 7. The IR sensor resolution is 128x128, but the screen resolution with TISR is 240x240. This results in a slightly blocky thermal image. 8. It has a 2" screen which can be difficult to view at times. 9. The 25Hz refresh rate causes the display to lag noticeably. 10. It's easy to hold the thermal camera with one hand and snap photos using the trigger. 11. It has a USB-C port on the top which can be used to recharge the battery or to transfer photos that were taken to a computer. It doesn't come with a power adapter. 12. It's made of good-quality plastic and has a nice sturdy feel. ... show more

  • Predator vision on a budget
Color: Green
I don't really care about measuring things with it although it seems to be fairly accurate. What I care about is seeing what the predator saw. The movie of my childhood. Always wanted one of these things and they are finally affordable. This one is lightweight but still doesn't feel cheap. It feels like a sturdy product. The resolution is sufficient for my needs, I probably would not recommend going with a lower resolution which there are some models out there. I do wish you had a slightly higher resolution but it is 100% usable and I have had more fun with this thing than most of the silly gadgets I buy. ... show more

  • For the price, it’s good
Color: Green
It does not work with a Mac or by normal USB. It only worked with an old PC running windows. But for the price, it was worth it for me and was a great price. The accuracy isn’t great but no consumer grade on-contact thermometer would be. But it has multiple settings and is extremely helpful in finding differentials you can’t see. My favorite use is finding out where the cat is without having to turn the lights on. But I would caution anyone who doesn’t use a PC that it is difficult to get the mange’s off. Also, the images are low resolution which is standard for this grade of product. But it was still a solid purchase for the price. ... show more
