Very nice and spacious for my 10 chickens. This Coop arrive with all parts, undamaged and nicely packaged. It was not difficult to put together, especially if you look at the pictures regarding what sides go where.Good design. Nice looking. This design is so cute. It's been easy to clean and easy to collect eggs. It is enough room for ten chickens to sleep.The design is adorable and very very well thought out. The design and look is still exactly what we were looking for.It was EXTREMELY easy to put together. My chicks are 6 weeks old and so far they have plenty of space. Very easy to assemble. Very happy with my purchase! I didn't expect a well built , but was pleasantly surprised. Easy assembly with lots of nice touchs. It will easily hold 6-8 hens. I am happy with the purchase, and would recommend. Shipping was very fast. The instructions were easy to follow. It took 2 of us about an hour to set up. I like how the top of the coop is actual shingles. I would recommend this to anyone. Good coops. Easy to assemble. Easily fits 10+ birds with a large feeder on the inside. I do not place a heater in the winter and they do just fine. 2+ years of use and it’s still holding up well. Very nice kit coop. Took 2 people about 1.5 hours to put together. Like someone else noted we will change out the plastic on the cupola as it is very flimsy. Our 6 chickens fit in there perfectly and could probably easily fit 8.

I’m not overly thrilled with this product, but it gets the job done for a beginner just starting out. I do have a few complaints. We didn’t know it would be coming in multiple boxes, so when it was marked as delivered I was pretty upset thinking we were missing pieces, but the seller was very responsive and provided the tracking numbers for the other 2 boxes. My second complaint is some of the instructions use shorter screws in spots that should really have longer screws. I’d recommend putting some of your own screws in if you want it to last longer and be more sturdy. My last complaint is on the wood itself. It had a very strong smell when you open the box. The bars also split easily in the run when you try to secure them and some of the other pieces of the coop that were pre-screwed had split wood. One thing I do like is the abundance of doors/access points. It was also very easy to put together with one person, it would have been even easier with two. The instructions were very easy to follow. It’s a good size space for 6-8 chickens. Overall, I do love the look of the coop and functionality, but due to the quality I feel it’s overpriced. ... show more

Pros: Attractive Sturdy Spacious Four (4) nesting areas, and each is a really nice size (all three of my chickens sleep in one; it's cozier, I guess) Cons: A LOT of assembly steps Instructions could be more clear Will NOT easily disassemble back into a top and bottom if relocation is desired Ramps and landing are difficult to reach for cleaning Helpful hints: 1. Instructions recommend two people; it CAN be done by just one average-size woman 2. When working on the run portion, turn it on its side for better access; use one or more of the perch rods to prop it open so it doesn't fold back up 3. If it will be set up on a hard floor, put little sliders underneath to make it easier to move for cleaning 4. Alternatively, screw some thin rails to either side and then get a second tray (available from the Chicken Coop Company) to just slide the waste out for dumping. 5. Drill a small hole at the bottom end of each ramp and attach a wire to it. This will make it easy to raise and lower the ramps to clean them, or to confine the birds to one section or another during maintenance Suggestions: 1. Devise a hinged solution for the roof for easy access to the interior for more complete cleaning 2. Consider installing Plexiglas instead of the flexible plastic used for the windows, in which I can easily see the chickens pecking holes. 3. Install rods just under the "condo" section, suitable to bear the weight of hanging food and water dishes All in all, this is going to be a great winter home for my girls. I purchased this from Al Pets and it was an alternate model of Gutinneen's Large Chicken Coop for 8-10 chickens with run. It appears they no longer sell the model I purchased. Upon opening the package there was a frame that was already damaged. I contacted the seller and they told me to use a nail gun and suggested a $30 refund for the broken part. I did not own a nail gun and would have to purchase one to fix it properly before assembly (which nail guns cost more than $30) After a lot of back and forth we finally came to a refund agreement. I purchased the tool and supplies needed and fixed the frame. After that came assembly and the instructions are definitely much to be desired. Because they aren't very clear on what is front or back I ended up putting a side backwards and didn't realize it till halfway through assembly. Had to take it all apart and start again. It was also a bit tough to put together as they do not have predrilled holes for all the screws. When adding the roof you just have to guess that you're attaching it into the right spot. There is also no bottom floor frame as it has the pull out trays. So the bottom framework of itself is not very stable for the chickens to stand on. I did not realize this before purchase or I would have gone with a different brand. I've also only had it assembled for a week and the roofing is already peeling away so I have to fix that as well now. I would not recommend purchasing this or other coops of this brand. Although the wood structure itself is nice and aesthetically pleasing, the framework ends up being pretty flimsy and I'm not sure how long it will hold up to the weather. Using it for now as I need it, but will definitely purchase a better brand in the future. Update: Editing to update that I have had this coop giong on 3 months and it is not holding up well due to weather. Does not do well to keep the rain out and i have to completely clear out the bedding every time it rains. ... show more

Great value! The fist order was all shipped in a timely manner, the shipping company lost one of the 3 packages but the seller promptly just sent a replacement package. The instructions were clear and all the parts were there. It was all pretty straightforward. The material is very soft wood which is pretty much the standard for these kits. We coated the exterior in polyurethane to help ot weather better and harden the surface a bit. Seems to be working great. We also installed it on a 2x4 frame to add some rigidity to the overall structure, well worth the upgrade for 20 bucks. Very happy with this kit, definitely would recommend. Good company, great customer service and a solid product. Grab (2) 10' 2X4's and (2) 8' plus a couple of cans of polyurethane and its a good strong option. ... show more

Other than the fact that six pieces arrived, broken or defective. The overall quality of the wood isn’t all that great. I foresee this lasting maybe one winter season in Pennsylvania.. I read other reviews stating that a couple pieces arrived broken and I did dismiss that, but I should’ve went with my gut. We also had to completely redo the hinges on the nesting box, they were drilled completely uneven. We did go ahead and add our own lock for extra security. 8-10 chickens is most definitely NOT the proper number, 4 max! We replaced the door with the suggested automatic door and it works nicely. The other one was flimsy anyway. ... show more

The chicken coop arrived damaged. One door had a broken frame, and it is unfortunately the support for the whole side wall. (Front panel of coop - Part A) It is a decent size coop, but with the broken pieces and bad latches it will be hard to use until we correct those items. We have to replace some pieces (including a wall) with better material before letting our chickens inside it. It was very easy to put together.
