I bought this colander solely because I'm tired of losing half of my pasta/veggies down the sink due to the large holes in my regular colander. This colander is a dream come true for me. I love ramen, angel hair pasta, and macaroni salad mixes that contain small veggies like freeze-dried broccoli and peas. It keeps everything safely in the container and out of the sink. I bought the 5-gallon size, and it's nice and large. The quality is wonderful. I am very impressed with it. No more cheesecloth on the bottom of the old strainer and no more burned fingers! It's definitely worth the price.

I've been using this type of item for over 50 years; and although the handles feel solid now, this item is of light construction. Looks nice enough to hang on the wall - and that's where it will be stored to minimize the dents.

There are a handful of brands on various boxes for near identical colanders of this type. Whether they’re all made in one factory and simply shipped in a bunch of different boxes, I may never know, but this one matches one I bought 5 years ago, which still looks and works like new, after having been beaten around both my home kitchen and a slew of catering events. Hasn’t rusted or discolored, and the handles and foot haven’t threatened to fall off. Would recommend to anyone, as the micro-perforated colander is a great tool to have, for many purposes.

Placed a plastic bag inside colander to measure, as it appears quite small? Holds 2 quarts water w. barely 1/4" space at top. Couldn't add 1 more cup, much less 2? Nice colander/ design - smaller holes for draining small pasta, seems sturdy enough. However, I paid for a 3 quart colander, as listed.
