I love kitchen aid products and I’m sure it will work great once I get the main parts that weren’t apparently included. Food grinder tube part is a necessity in order to use this and I was disheartened to realize it wasn’t part of the order. Read everything carefully, lesson learned!

This processes lots of tomatoes in a short amount of time. I put cheesecloth over the bowl to strain the juice from the pulp. I get tomato juice to drink, reduced water in the pulp that cuts down on reducing. I run the seeds, skins back through a second or third time to get the most juice and pulp. So I was clear on the fact that it needs a KSMFGA grinder. Problem is I couldn’t tell which model mine is. It’s marked FGA-2 and the manual says it works with the KSMFVSP specifically. This FVSP does not fit the FGA-2. I can’t negative the device itself, it’s great. It beats the bejeebers out of any other method of juicing berries and tomatoes for canning and we can a lot. It sets up easy, cleans easy, and is very effective. Put a strainer over the bowl of your pulp catch and let the pulp drain a bit and you’ll get more useable juice. Wish I hadn’t needed to buy a new grinder since my old one works fine and I also have a #8 stand-alone grinder. If I had known this I’d have bought a third-party after market strainer attachment with a grinder for half the dollars. Just know that it won’t fit the FGA or FGA-2 or the new MGA (metal) grinder. Although it is written in the description (that I didn't read) I based my decision to buy this thinking it was both the grinder and the strainer together. Should have known better based off the price... Anyhow, you will need to purchase the correct grinder ( KSMFGA) for the auger, strainer, and hopper to work. I tried the stainless meat grinder ( KSMMGA) I already own but the strainer doesn't fit tightly, and the hopper does not fit over the retaining collar. Purchasing an additional meat/food grinder is frustrating since I don't need two and already have the better stainless version. The image should show the grinder as a shadow or translucent so the consumer sees only the accessories. Updated : Went to a local chain store to get the grinder, got home and started using it. Everything was going fine until 1/2 way through the server cone broke from mid seam and cracked the plastic nose piece. I have even pre-pealed many of the tomatoes I was processing because they were thawed from frozen and I didn't want them to burst open getting juice everywhere. Cleaning of the server cone is a pain as well. Money down the drain and I still have more tomatoes to process. Over all, this is a buyer's remorse accessory. ... show more
