For whatever reason, there never seems to be enough room in the kitchen cabinets, drawers, or even counters at times, so having items that can essentially transform in order to reserve space is a priority on the list. One thing that is constantly pretty much in the way every time we need to reach into the cabinet for something, are the strainers/colanders. They are not used very often, but are always needed at some point, so you cant really put them away far away. The colanders that we initially had were only the metal ones which were just always in the way whenever we needed something out of the cabinet. We would have to pull them down or they would fall out on their own. We eventually were able to get a collapsible one, but sadly when we had the stove replaced not too long ago, it was left inside the bottom drawer of the stove, and we were never able to get any of our belongings back. I was really happy to find this 2 collapsible colander set, and was equally thrilled when given the opportunity to give them a try at a reduced price for my sincere opinion. Right away I pulled them out the box and washed them up for first time use. I ended up making some eggplant and ground pork stir fry, and needed to drain the pork of oils. I was able to open up my cabinet without anything needing moving, or falling out. I had them folded and one their sides, and was able to reach in and slide them out easily. Not to mention that now I no longer have the big metal colanders in the way, I was able to utilize that space for something else. The colanders were well made, did an excellent job of draining the meat, and anything else we have needed for since they arrived. The other great things is since they are not metal, I didn't have to worry about the handles being too hot to hold on to, and there are size options so if I just have a little, I can use the smaller of the two. I feel these are made to last, and we will have them for a long while. A great space saving good buy. ... show more

I love these flexible strainers. They fold up nicely and are easy to store. They fit in the dishwasher well too. When expanded they are sturdy and a good size for staining pasta, vegetables, fruit, whatever you need. Boiling water does not affect them. I love the color too.

    • Small Size Perfect for Single Basin Sinks
I don't often need to use a strainer but every time I used my old wire one, I cursed it. I hated that thing and wanted to get a collapsible style but could never justify an expensive silicone version. Then I found this set. All I want/need is 3 things: 1. It's easy to store 2. It can fit in my single bowl sink along with the dishpan 3. It's easy to wash Bingo! The small colander with its wide handles fits securely between the dishpan and wall of the sink. No longer will I have to contend with an awkward long handle of a wire strainer and getting everything aligned perfectly so the darned thing doesn't fall in while trying to balance it. The small strainer will be great for small servings of pasta, berries, canned veggies, maybe a couple cubed potatoes, etc. The larger size will also fit but I'll probably want to remove the dishpan from the sink before using it. I'll use it when needing to strain larger batches of whatever. I love that these nest and are level so I'll have more storage options for them. No long handles to worry about and they're round so they can potentially fit in large pots or skillets when storing. And, they are seemingly non-abrasive and shouldn't scratch cookware stored next to them. The rubber-like material is smooth and doesn't snag washcloths while washing. Unlike traditional wire strainers, these won't rust and it will be much easier to dislodge any debris caught in the holes. These have an ever-so-slight foundation under them so the bottom doesn't sit directly on a flat surface which is appreciated. I don't expect these to last forever. It's possible that over time and/or with frequent use the material will get brittle and break. If that happens, I'll buy a new set. In the meantime, this set fits my needs perfectly and the price I paid for it was quite reasonable which is the most anyone can hope for. ... show more

I like the compact and foldable part of the strainer. I wish it was a little more quality and durable. Also the water doesn’t fully drain from the holes, often a fair amount of water left inside the strainer so if you tip out the food inside you’ll get water with it.

    • Must have for small spaces
I've used these before. My big one I bought over a yr ago got a rip in it. So I had to replace it. We live in an RV and space is limited. These are so nice to have and saves space. Absolutely love them. Easy to use, easy to clean, they are sturdy and strains perfectly. I highly recommend these.
